  1. I'm looking for a low scoring game. Silverdale's D is holding folks decently, but they've had trouble grasping the new spread offense and putting points on the board. Should be a good one though. The team that wins has a huge leg up in winning the district.
  2. Grace is much older than SD and has a great QB in Josh Blake. However, it does not seem that they have been playing to their full the past couple of weeks. And I think they have some linemen out with injuries if I've heard right. Silverdale has had some surprisingly good play from their young qb which was not expected. They also have a great athlete in Montgemery. I say Grace wins but Coach Allen and his staff find a way to keep it close. Grace 38 Silverdale 28.
  3. 60 players? Wow I'm very impressed. For a first year, Single A school thats very rare. And if they are transfers, and there's only a jv team this year, everyone will be eligible next year. Can anyone from Signal tell me the enrollment there? Or how long they plan to stay in 1A?
  4. I think you can make a strong case for Josh Blake at Grace Acadmy. 3 year starter, runs a 4.6, has a pretty accurate arm and graded well at a bunch of big QB camps this summer. Some small D1's have expressed some interest but it seems his heighth is an issue. He's only 5'10". But rumor has it that Vanderbilt is looking at him to play corner, but I've been wrong before....
  5. Silverdale at Chatt. Central. Friday 8/01
  6. Sounds like Silverdale has really come to play in the postseason. I just looked in the paper the other day and they've got a freshman who's hitting .590 which was good enough to be 3rd in the city. After considering Silverdales past two season, its pretty surprising. This will be their first appearance in the region tourny. Good luck to them.
  7. Both teams did their fair amount of fouling. I also agree that the officiating could have been better. Good calls were handed out to both teams in some spots. Hampton getting hurt def had an affect on the game, but CSAS still played a good ball game. They went on their run in the 3rd, but Silverdale finally showed some guts for once and went on a run of their own after being down 16 at one point. Davenport, Marbury, and Lowery hit some really clutch shots down the stretch, and came up with some big stops when they had to. People can say what they want about the officiating, the injury, the fouls and what not, but the bottom line is that Silverdale was the better team on Saturday night. Though this win means nothing for Silverdale as far as district standings go, hopefully they can build on this win and become more confident and know they have the ability to close out tight games. I think this loss can actually help CSAS. Better to lose now then late in the season. They are an excellent team and are deserving of the Number one ranking in the state. I will be really surpised if they don't end up back in the championship game in Murfreesboro.
  8. In my defense, I DID pick you guys to win. From now on, I will write Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences Patriots whenever refering to your institution. I still think Grace will go down in this one, but if Carter decides he wants to play up to his full potential, then Grace could win by 15. When Carter realizes he can dominate almost any game he plays in when he plays hard and goes to work down low, then he could take Grace a long ways. But people have been sayin that for 3 years now...
  9. Brookshire doesn't start but is first off the bench. Wadley starts 5 seniors am I right? Look for this kid to porvide depth and well as being a good left-handed shooter from deep. If Wadley is a good coach, like I think he is, he'll give this kid plenty of time because he'll be the man next year.
  10. I'll take Arts and Crafts by 10. The guard pressure will be to much for Grace I think. If Carter asserts himself and tries to take over the game, then Grace has alot better shot, but I havent seen Carter do that much.
  11. Who do you think are key players this year? Will Temple be able to rebound after losing all their seniors? Will Temple miss the region tourney this year? Will Grace continue to under achieve?
  12. Getting back to the real reason to this thread, I think Silverdale is in a position this year to be considered in the race. CSAS is going to win 6-A for sure, but Silverdale might give Grace some trouble. SD played grace close both times last year, and SD has all key players back this year, plus some transfers. They could make it interesting in district 5-A. Look for them to advance in the Region tourney as well. If they get hot at the right time, this senior laden team could make a run.
  13. Is anyone gonna tell this kid that the best coach in his school's(Temple) history name is WADLEY, not WATLEY? Sorry I just had to. I'll take Mccallie by 20. Newman and Taylor are both good players and if they can stop Sexton, then they win this one easy.
  14. Silverdale proved me right tonight. I said that they would be well prepared and they were, and they hung around, making it an interesting game in the 2nd half. Congrats on getting that first playoff game under your belt boys, and continue to build on that foundation. As for now....time for some HOOPS.
  15. Hey now, I'm not gonna get on here and say that you're wrong that SD will get beat, but you aren't giving them any credit at all. After all, they ARE in the playoffs. Coach Allen always has his team ready to play, and this game will be no exception. Gville has a great football team, but Silverdale won't be losing to any body by 42, they've done that once this year (to South Pitt, future state champs I'm almost sure) and I dont see that happening again. I'll have to say that Gville will have a hard time putting the Seahawks away, but they will end up winning by 21 in my estimate. Good luck to both teams.
