  1. Great Thread. Please do one for 3A. The deadline for schools to declare which class they want to compete in is tomorrow. Pearl-Cohn will elect to play 4A again.
  2. Fairview better do WCS a favor and save the school system some gas money and doctors bills/accident reports.
  3. My Initial 2A Guess: 1: Hampton, Happy Valley, South Greene, West Greene, Eagleton, Cumberland Gap, Oneida, Wartburg 2: Jackson, Smith, York, Trousdale, Westmoreland, East Robertson, Cannon 3: Tellico Plains, Polk, Bledsoe, Marion, Monterey 4: Fayetteville, Cascade, Forrest, Summertown, Loretto, Lewis, Mt. Pleasant 5: Waverly, Harpeth, Hickman, East Hickman, Camden, Riverside 6: Huntingdon, JCM, Milan, Gibson, Peabody, Adamsville 7 & 8: Hillcrest, Oakhaven, MASE, Mitchell, Fairley, KIPP, Bluff City, Freedom Prep, Memphis Business, Sheffield, Trezevant, MLK Prep
  4. Southtowner, Have you made a projection about all of the classes? You’re usually very knowledgeable and I remember last class cycle we chatted with one another when this happened. I’d love to see your thoughts on 1A through 6A.
  5. Alcoa and Pearl-Cohn are both jumping to Class 4A. I’ll stop all of the dramatics right now. They can say they are waiting but it’s happening.
  6. My 3A Guess: Pearl-Cohn will move up and play 4A. Who moves up from 2A? Who else decides to move up to 4A? These are anyone's guess. (7) Memphis East, Douglass, Wooddale, Hamilton, Melrose, Raleigh Egypt, Bolton will make up Region 8-3A. (7) Liberty Tech, Westview, Ripley, McNairy Central, Dyersburg, Bolivar, Covington will make up Region 7-3A. (5) Cheatham County, Sycamore, Fairview, Stewart County, Scotts Hill should make up Region 6-3A. (5) Maplewood, East Nashville, Stratford, RePublic, and Whites Creek should make up Region 5-3A. (5) White House-Heritage, Liberty Creek, Watertown, Giles County, Community should make up Region 4-3A. (7) Meigs County, Tyner Academy, Brainerd, Sequatchie County, McMinn Central, Chattanooga Central, Grundy County should make up Region 3-3A. (7) Loudon, Sweetwater, Kingston, Austin East, Alcoa, Scott County, Union County should make up Region 2-3A. (6) Gatlinburg-Pittman, Chuckey-Doak, Pigeon Forge, Johnson County, Claiborne County, Unicoi County should make up Region 1-3A.
  7. The 4 playoff spots are officially secured as of last Friday. In what order is the only question that remains. The Fairview at Waverly winner is #1 and the loser is #2 in all likelihood. If White House beats White House-Heritage in Week 11 then they will be the #3 seed. If Fairview beats Sycamore then it locks up the #3 seed for White House and Sycamore will be the #4 seed. if White House-Heritage beats White House + Sycamore beats Fairview then Sycamore will be the #3 seed and White House would be the #4 seed. If White House-Heritage beats White House + Fairview loses to both Sycamore & Waverly then Sycamore would be #2, Fairview #3, and White House #4.
  8. Harpeth is 2-3 scores better than Whites Creek. Comparing them is silly.
  9. As crazy as it sounds Trousdale County would reach the playoffs if they won this game and then beat Watertown to end the season. East Robertson and Westmoreland are playing for the region championship. Harpeth is safely in the playoffs at 2-2 in the region because they’ve won 5 games overall (and will probably win a 6th against Hickman County). That leaves Watertown and Trousdale County. If both teams end up at 2-3 in the region then Harpeth would get the #3 seed and after they are in the playoffs it goes to head to head and under that scenario Trousdale County will have beaten Watertown to claim the #4 spot. Of course if Watertown beats Trousdale County like I believe they will then they would be the #3 seed and Harpeth would be the #4 seed and Trousdale County would get a head start on basketball season. Trousdale County will beat Whites Creek this week. It will be a lopsided victory as well.
  10. I hope Sharp leaves Columbia Central as quickly as possible come 11/1. He has gotten little support and the coaches that he would have had all left for greener pastures. This whole ordeal is bad and it stems from Hoath being fired last year.
  11. The playoff spots in Region 5-3A are nearly set: 1.) East Nashville @ Smith County WINNER 2.) East Nashville @ Smith County LOSER 3.) Maplewood 4.) Jackson County @ Stratford WINNER The East Nashville @ Smith County and the Jackson County @ Stratford games will be played in Week 11. In Region 6-3A: Fairview and Waverly are both 4-0 in the region. They play one another in Week 11. Waverly plays Cheatham County one week earlier. Fairview plays Sycamore one week earlier. That game will decide the region championship and homefield advantage through the first three rounds of the playoffs next month. Sycamore is 3-2 in the region. White House is 2-2 in the region. Sycamore's final region contest is against Fairview in two weeks. White House has to play Stewart County and White House-Heritage in region play. If both teams end up with identical region records White House wins the head to head tiebreaker because they beat Sycamore in their matchup a few weeks ago.
  12. Congrats to the Harpeth Indians on beating Trousdale County last week. Harpeth is very quietly having a very solid football season and I could see them playing in the 2nd Round of the playoffs very easily. They are the best program in Cheatham County right now and have been for a few years now. It's good to see them back in playoff contention. Congrats to coach Doug Loope & Co. from an old rival.
  13. I had to hit the edit button quickly. I knew counting wasn't my specialty. I'd like to see how people think the classes will break down region-by-region. I'm not even remotely close to that yet.

  17. Pearl-Cohn is going to remain in 4A. They like that class.
  18. The Fairview at Waverly game at the end of the season will decide the region championship. White House looks like a solid third place team in the region. The final playoff spot in the region will likely be determined next week when Cheatham County travels to Sycamore.
  19. Fairview’s schedule has been difficult this year and they have really improved throughout the season. They dropped the opener against Page. They beat a very good Creek Wood team. They rallied in the second half and honestly should have beaten a very good Westview team but got a raw deal in the closing stages of the contest. Last night they clobbered a White House team that will probably end the season as the 3rd seed from the region. The only “knock” on Fairview this year has been that they sometimes go through lulls where they play down to inferior opponents. The games against Stewart, Cheatham, White House-Heritage, and even in the early stages last night against White House all showed this. Fairview is a 5-2 football team and they’ve still yet to put a complete game together. If they are ever able to do that consistently they’ll be a difficult “out” in November.
  20. Ayden Brooks is another player who was an all region performer for Waverly last year.
  21. You’re talking about those guys but what about the guys who Waverly had on the field last year? Jacob Dooley, Emerick Houston, Ethan McCann, Kade Anderson, Ryan Edwards. Those guys were difference making ball players. White House wasn’t the only team in the region that lost players from their 2021 team.
