  1. Weak pep rally lol. Anyways Its gonna be cold tonight, bring the blankets and heavy clothing! Great night to air it out! Hopefully a injury free game and a great game on both sides, good luck both teams! Smyrna - 34 Cookeville - 14
  2. Well I'm pretty sure no one has respect for a grown person bad-talking young men, I'll just ignore your ignorant comments from now on, good luck to Riverdale this season.
  3. He's 0bv. a great guy. What a joke of a character, I wish people like him were banned from ever watching any high school sports. It'd be fine if they were grown up adults and he was saying that about them, because they could answer for themselves. But these are kids for goodness sake. To wish nothing but bad on a school program is low, but that just shows what class scum he is.
  4. Thats one of the saddest things I've ever heard. For one to have a satisfaction of young men's self-esteem being trashed. Hope that makes you feel like a great person, I really do.
  5. Riverdale could make this one ugly, but hopefully just cruise to a victory. This is one of the easier games to predict out of these Region 4-5a vs Region 3-5a matchups.
  6. WC probably wins big, but you never know stranger things have happened, they may not be focused at all after 2 losses and be itching for that shot at Riverdale. I hope the Raiders pull everything out, trick plays, reverses, everything. May be an upset in the rising?
  7. Let me see those Owls fly down to Smyrna again! Good luck Owls, give that #1 seed all it can handle!
  8. I love high school football, as well as college football. I'm also an athlete for Smyrna, and unfortunately I didn't play this year due to my dedication of my other sport..but man how much I wish I would have. I'll be out there for sure next year trying to make an impact my Senior year. Anyways back to the game... We finished 7-3.. 1 loss on our Homecoming (Same as last year) Lebanon just seemed to have everything go there way. 1 loss to a private recruiting school Brentwood Academy..that went toe-to-toe even without Sonny, now granted if Sonny played, the game may not have been close, we may not have been able to start that running game. But that game helped so much show everyone that we CAN run the ball if we have to. 1 loss..to Riverdale..a great game, it really showed Riverdale's true colors. Tough in the trenches, a hard fought win for them. And for us? I don't think we lost anything, if anything, I believe we gained something out of this game. The fact that we saw we can compete with the ranked #1 team in the state, WITHOUT Day, Bryson being at 100%, Carr, and our starting snapper having a broken bone in his hand..wow what confidence we will have going into that Riverdale game (assuming we both get there) Sonny has had the worst games probably of his high school career in that LaVergne game, and somewhat at the Riverdale game..he had around 6 turnovers between those 2 games, where we went 1-1 and lost by a total of 4 points. That tells you A LOT about this Smyrna team..Smyrna is back, I can feel it in the air as I felt that 9-7 upset at lunch talking to some of the starting lineman last year..I think these Bulldogs can go all the way. Even though many people call Smyrna the 'Two-man show.' I hope every coach that faces them, and every team sees them that way. Even though Sonny has 18 TD passes, 15 being to Rod, that doesn't mean we cant spread the ball out to different receivers. Will Martin, Hager, Torres (Somewhat), and Jonah are ready and have shown they are to catch the ball at crucial situations and when needed (with exception of Jonah on that drop against BA). Dont forget the stud freshmen that will be a GREAT football player from High school, to the next level, and maybe even the highest level in football, Jeremiah Bryson. Its more than a 'Two-man show' people, but if your a non-believer just watch and see as Smyrna makes a run in the play-offs. Smyrna wins over Cookeville, due to our missed extra points and probably a random FG (lol) 31-14 Sort of a 'cruise control' win for the Bulldogs, not saying they will over-look them. I doubt they show anything new in the 2nd half, and just try to run the clock out and improve on that running game that will be important later on. But don't be shocked if you see Smyrna taking another Gold Ball back home to Smyrna, Sonny, Rod, this whole Senior class are Winners, and won't settle for anything else!
  9. I left with like 3 min in the 1st half to go..Pretty much a waste of 6$..wish I would have gone to the LaVergne game to have a good laugh lol.. Smyrna dominated..nothing really to be said..Oakland just be happy no injuries occurred when you were playing your starters vs our JV/Freshmen, then those pretty-much-pointless-points you scored would have been just plain ignorant. I'm lovin Smyrna right now, can't wait for the LaVergne game, looks like they will be playing VERY angry, but Smyrna's offense looked impossible to stop, running, throwing, and scoring at will. Looks like we finally kicked our gear up and I'm excited to see what we can do down the stretch. Good luck the rest of the season Oakland! Also, wasn't there to see the kid get hurt but I hope he is okay.
  10. Ohhh, I wonder if Rod will have a amazing game this being a game vs his Home Town. Anyone remember what he did at Gallatin in a basketball game? hehe lets just say his emotions may be pretty high.
  11. Its funny because I go to Smyrna I just happen to know a few folks from MTCS. The real number 5, and a REAL number 5 would be Rodriguez Wilkes from my High School, you may have heard of him? Oh maybe you can watch some highlights of what you WISH your players could be like, here I'll link you: http://www.storkmontgomery.com/RodriguezWilks.aspx There, you can relax and take notes. And may I point out, 62 yard field goals STRAIGHT ON are not impossible to hit for my #5 from MTCS, he can actually hit them as well, how about some difficult kicks from the hash marks along with 40+yd length. No, I didn't exaggerate his national skills, ask him, ask his sponsored select soccer coach. He's a beast at Soccer as well as a nice Kicker. By the way, he didn't play soccer for the school due to his own personal reasons, if you don't believe me, well tough for you, because I talk to him every day pretty much. He has played select since he was around 12 ATLEAST as well as gone to Nationals and such STARTING on his soccer teams (including indoor). This year he says he will be playing for his school so why don't all of you Cascade "So proud of your 1A (lowest division of talent basically) football team" go watch him play since apparently your friend bjsdog goes to all sporting events! Oh and BabiesAndMemories, your proving as a great character, knocking down kids on a web site that is supposed to promote high school sports. Good job man! Your doing great! I hope you have children and your children get called cry-babies and such by strangers they don't even know =) Way to go, your really a great person! =) This is the last time I'll waste my time on this 1A football board, nothing but below average talent for the most part, and boring football. Maybe ya'll can make it up to Murfreesboro to stay and see what some real high school football is like!
  12. I would take that bet any day seeing as MTCS's #5 is AVERAGING nothing less then 42 yards per punt, and atleast 10 punt attempts, with a long of 65 /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />. Oh and thats just in games, in just a competition, well this kid played goalie for a number of years and has a VERY strong leg. He's also one of the best sweepers in Soccer in the NATION. So yeah athletic wise, I'll be willing to put money on #5 in Orange and White. Also this is funny because this is his first year playing football and hes a starter. I can't even imagine how good of a Kicker/Punter he would be if he had played even 1 more year, hes already looking at Soccer scholarships, so what is your guy looking at? Walking on to MTSU or something? =)
  13. I'm guessing your gonna say MTCS's kicker hits 2 40+ field goals? Because he never misses extra points. #5, K/P/WR/KR/PR is the difference, MTCS with the victory 28-27 in a close one, but MTCS's advantage in special teams is too much for Cascade to handle.
  14. 2p - Sonny is pretty banged up, if you saw him come off the sidelines the drive he got hurt, they checked him out, took off his pads, he sat there for about 2minutes of the game clock being checked out, and there are pictures of him that appear to have him crying. I don't think the injury was inflated more than it was, I just think he toughed it out. Thats just my opinion though.
  15. 13-0. Smyrna wins. Smyrna doesn't really show much, nothing flashy, just a win and thats it. Turnovers I believe were 2-3, pretty even game. Just seemed like Blackman couldn't rip a big play, but either could Smyrna really. Yes, Sonny did play, not the kind of game we usually see from him though.
  16. yesss we are the same person you caught me, oh no my plans are foileddddd.. stick to the game my friend =)
  17. Heh, you don't have to admit anything its fine. As far as linking you to a strength of schedule site, I don't have one. I simply looked at who Riverdale has played and then who they have played and how they all have done, compared to the likes of Smyrna. But I'll admit, I did only look at Smyrna's so I guess you could say I'm being ignorant by not look at the other teams in the region, then stating 'compared to some other teams in the region.' But good luck the rest of the season and good luck this week!
  18. Yeah I see where your coming from. Antioch usually makes it to the 1st or 2nd round of the play-offs...but I have no idea about the other two. I'm sure we can agree that this schedule is definitely not the toughest schedule compared to some other region team's schedule's.
  19. Anyone else noticed Riverdale's strength of schedule? Heh..just saying..not dissing or anything.. Riverdale big, maybe a mercy rule? 42-7.
  20. You can't really say 'due to the facts of injuries this will contribute to a loss' because Day hasn't even played a game this year, Jarvis hasn't seen the field either. I mean I guess you can say Sonny possibly not being 100% might factor a tiny bit? But we all know adrenaline will probably kick in if he isnt 100%.
  21. Not much of a true athlete? lol this is probably coming from someone who has never played a high school sport period. ANYWAYS: this game is very important for the spirit of the team, maybe not the record so much. I'm not gonna sit here and argue with someone over this I'll just state what I think. This game is crucial to Smyrna's season in terms of confidence. See you at the game =)
  22. "sorry but as much as you would like to see smyrna demoralized it isn't going to happen" - 82Cat lol...I'm a junior and an athlete at SHS..why would I want my highschool football team to be demoralized? I want us to win this game because I'd hate to see what would happen if we lost. I support our football team 100%, but when I'm on here I give my honest opinion. When you see me in the pep rally's, games, I'm strictly a Smyrna fan and rooting for my HS. But sure, go ahead and believe that I want us to be demoralized, great response!
  23. It will demoralize them if they are blown out, along with tempers flaring, we might have another Josh Crouch explosion episode except it not being josh (no offense to josh, hes actually a friend of mine).
  24. Are you kidding me? Two straight losses will demoralize this team. Imagine if they are blown out, this game WILL make a big impact in Smyrna's season. If Smyrna did not want to win this game for it to give them some momentum, they 0bv. would not have scheduled this game. Come on, don't be so blind to see how important this game is.
