  1. I don't understand how they left Janell Menard off of the all tourney team either! Especially if she was going to be MVP is Loudon had won. They got this one wrong...
  2. Last time I checked I didn't own any Redskins, but once in a lifetime isn't really that bad is it? I think you need to chill with Skippy. Most people do agree that A, AA and AAA are different not just in numbers but in talent as well ON AVERAGE. There are times schools that get talent in that elevates thier play and it wouldn't matter what class they were in. However on average the larger the classification the better the competition. If this wasn't the case wouldn't they just have one classification?
  3. Chill out on him Skippy. Being honest isn't putting a kid down. I've seen Titlow play for several years and to say he was one of the best juniors in the area is a stretch. He should dominate he is at Greenback playing single A ball (this isn't meant as an attack on single A). If you put Titlow up against better AA and AAA talent from area teams such as L.C., Maryville, AE, Stone, Farragut, and others he would have a decent showing but would not come close to dominating you say same stats against LC and WB, WB wasn't that good last year especially after Ballard went down, what were his stats against LC? Was most of his scoring and rebounding after the starters left the game? just curious.
  4. ALso beat GIbbs and I'm told they should have beat Karns, lost by 1 pt. on a foul shot with no time left.
  5. If AC is even close to good they should win with no problem. Carter was defeated last week by Karns and Halls at the Gibbs tourney. Carter looked dead on thier feet, no team work on defense at all is what I was told?
  6. They've got some growing to do but should be alright. They beat Meigs in the HOF game last week, beat Halls and Gibbs this week and lost to Karns in the finals of the Kroger Thanksgiving Classic at Gibbs by 1 point. Karns hit a foul shot at the end to win 49-50, but if you change one or two posessions either team wins?
  7. Stone is very deep at the guard position and should fight for 1st place without a doubt. They should be able to apply pressure from buzzer to buzzer with no problem. I don't understand your comments on Sherrill who you think "will win player of the year" but you think "Rorex is by far the best player in the league" I think you can have one or the other here but not both? I do think Sherrill will be a noticable force on the inside but he doesn't shoot well enough to garner player of the year status. I think Fox still out plays him on average or has when I have seen them play? Nothing against Sherrill... Stone will have a good year and the rest of 4AA better be ready for them nightly.
  8. You are mistaken, schools do both. They accept interested applicants and they also reach out regionally to coaches to gauge interest. I'm sure Coach Wells has applied to a couple of jobs but I can guarantee that he has turned down more interview opportunities than he has accepted. Either way LC is lucky to have him at this time, so instead of complaining or believing everything you hear about him support what he is doing today for none of us are promised tomorrow.
  9. To my knowledge Shane Wells doesn't apply for every job in the Knoxville area that comes open. His name is brought up as a possible candidate for every job that comes open in the Knoxville area. BIG difference! It just shows the respect that the area has for his coaching ability not the other way around or what you are implying. DUH!!
  10. I can agree with Stone and AC, being 1 and 2 even though Rorex is going to need alot of help with AC losing thier bigs. However, the rest of the District may be a toss up. Kingston is improved but will have to make a believer out of me before I can see them come in and take 3rd after the season they had last year. Scott will be scrappy as usual but will most likely not be as competitive in the 4th quarter of games (seems like a yearly trend?). Catholic should be a solid mid level team but could fall off if thier depth doesn't come through if it does they may challenge for 2nd? Loudon is inexperienced and will have to really play team ball to win consistently. CAK, I don't know much about either but I don't recall much returning for them.
  11. I have seen Ben play on probably a dozen or more occasions and everytime he is called for a foul or everytime he gets in a heated discussion with an opposing player he cracks the same smile. At first I thought it was the same thing as you ... him mocking the other person. When I said this to someone I know from Loudon they said that has always been his facial reaction in these situations. So I came to realize he means nothing about it, it has just become his involuntary reaction to stress on the court (of course I could be wrong as well, you know what is said about opinions). However, I'll take that any day to the pouting and cursing that comes out of alot of the kids mouths that I have seen play the last couple of years. I'm sure he has grown up since then but we also shouldn't characterize a young man on 1 incident that was witnessed by a gym full and I'm sure there were a gym full of different versions of the story when everyone left. With a win tonight I believe the Skins will have another shot at Stone...should be a good game.
  12. Looks like you already have changed by your posts. I don't think anyone has seen paint for while have they (except for the LC game which was away)? Looks like a change has happened and to your surprise it wasn't even your choice was it? That is one thing you will learn with maturity... there are some things you just can't control and whether or not you are in charge right now is one of them and right now I don't think you are in charge. Perhaps when you finish your education if you end up as an administrator in a school somewhere you will understand what folks are saying about your actions and behavior. You will surely understand it when you have children of your own that are of an age that they can be held accountable. But, Hopefully none of you are in that position yet? and when you are hopefully the opposing fans or your own fans won't treat your children the way you have been treating others and hopefully your children won't act like the Nation has been acting without being taught better. Of course thats alot of hoping isn't it?
  13. Sorry, I guess the single with cheese was a little harsh... but from your posts you give the impression that you feel like you deserve something (respect?) when you haven't earned it and I do hope that as a whole you are smarter than most since collectively there are around 20 of you. But, you do need to quit blaming other people for your apparent demise. Bartlett isn't ruining it for you and the Nation, you are ruining it for yourselves. You hassle every opposing fan that walks by especially the younger children. You react to any retort aggressively and physically (as at the LC game). You do use language that is worse than calling someone garbage (I and others have heard it) and as stated before you use it not only toward the other team's players and fans but toward your own as well. I remember when I attended a game 5 or 6 years ago and the Nation painted up and cheered and had humerous chants that were all directed toward play on the court and in the interest of supporting the team. The only thing that I see that has changed in this period are the members. So redskin--nation if you are a leading member of this group and have any intention of continuing this tradition why don't you step up, be a leader and straighten out the bad apples that are among your group? I know it may not be cool to call out one of your buddies but... stupid is as stupid does and I'm sure your parents have taught you better, haven't they? I also remember a few years ago when the Nation was being criticized on this board that folks were making posts in defense of the Nation and they appeared to be parents and other students. The only ones I have read lately that defend that Nation are posted by the Nation. Why do you think that is? something change?
  14. Hey redskin--nation the administrators don't hate you or they would have already suspended all of you from games for your senseless yelling of obscenities and for being disruptive not only by taunting players from the other team but players who play for YOUR own school. How classless is that? The member of the Nation that was "kicked out" by Mr. Bartlett left him no choice. I would have put him out weeks ago along with some of you other idiots who think you know what being a fan is. Trust me I haven't seen anyone try to imitate the Nation and I sure don't know of anyone who would dare duplicate your little display of stupidity and the only ones you are shaming are your parents (If they even care?). I know most of the parents at the game don't realize what you are saying or chanting because if they did you'd have your tails busted like you deserve! or maybe the administrators who you say hate you would send you on your way....hopefully most of you are seniors and will be gone so when I can attend a couple of games next year I will be able to enjoy cheering for who I want with class while your getting my single with cheese for me after the game. GROW UP OR GET OUT!
  15. If Loudon shows up and is able to hit their outside shots then Stone will have a long night on the other hand if Loudon comes in there not ready to play it will be a repeat of the first meeting this year. From what I hear it was a pretty close hard played game for most of the game. Kudos to these schools as I have seen them play each other in the past and both normally give great effort against one another. Hopefully this upcoming game will be the same....If I had to give a definate answer I would say Loudon by 6.
  16. I agree I've seen them both play and AC should win by double digits.
  17. Eller is a little off right now but everyone who has played him has seen him hit big shots so give him time. Don't be hater just because he plays for one of your rivals. As to your previous post of W. Allen shooting 60%, warm ups don't count the shots have to happen when the clock is running and the score is being kept. Just kidding SweetH2O, how many shots has he taken? Just curious I'd like for some of the teams I've seen play this year hit 60% from the free throw line and with thier lay ups.
  18. I was at this game and it was a close game until overtime but not necessarily a good game. Yes, Everett wasn't there but it isn't like he is going to put 20 a game up either. Yes, there was bad blood last year because of a foul but how many parents and coaches teach kids to let up and not play hard not matter the score? Surely even the Stone Mem parents/fans/coaches don't believe the injury was intentional if they do then the school isn't as good as I thought. If Loudon would learn that with a 2 point game going they don't have to hit a three every trip it might help especially when they are shooting around 10% for the night from the arc. If they would have played a little more team ball and fed Colvin it sure wouldn't have been a 18 to 2 run in overtime. Maybe the trip to SM will be a little better game with the same class and spirit shown by the players. The fans on both sides could use a little help. Shame on the grown ups in SM's crowd who where vocally jousting with the Rowdy Redskins and shame on MR.B for letting the RR words and gestures sink as low as they have....
  19. I would have to concur on the list so far Steele (Fulton), Hood (LC), Ballard (WB), Robinson (Alcoa), Pryor (AE) out of these the one that could go downhill fast is Pryor he seemed to lack discipline and hustle when I saw him play (almost a common comment on this thread). Robinson seems to play hard when he wants to but could dominate if he was in better shape. There is also a pretty good freshman at McMinn Central but I can't remember his name it is either Moss or Simpson? Loudon has a good freshman that wore #23 against Alcoa I think he put up around 25 pts that night and i was told he put up close to 20 against AE's JV the night before? I would also like to give props to the Powers kid from LC. He might lack size but don't let him get his shots off because he will light you up for sure! These are only the ones I've seen so it seems that BBall is on the rise in East Tennessee! To bad we can't get these 8 kids plus a couple of more and have an AAU team to represent the Knoxville and surrounding areas this Spring I think they would make some noise for sure!
  20. I'm as big a H. Smith fan as anyone but if I remember correctly when Loudon played at his house he was almost non-existent? plus I'm sure you're aware of the fact that a dunk is only 2 points...
  21. Heart although desirable isn't everything especially when your shooting less than 50% from the line...and have key turnovers at the end of games because your out of control in the lane and won't pass the rock to a wide open pure shooter.
  22. The American Indians don't claim this word exclusively, they do however relate to the Indian mascots generally used with a the Warrior nickname.
  23. You always hear the football vs. basketball shape delima mentioned this time of year and I thought the same thing for a long time and it still applies to me when it comes to the average high school athlete but in recent years I've witnessed football players coming in and making immediate impact on the team and thier performances... make no mistake about it Harrison Smith is NO AVERAGE HIGH SCHOOL athlete he is a STUD that will dominate early and often. The team on the other hand is a different story they may struggle because of chemistry but it won't be because of a lack of basketball shape from H. Smith.
  24. Yes it would be... Central should get the win considering the talent involved but Polk will always play you tough in any sport. Central Freshmen will however travel up the road tonight to Loudon to play so thier young talent will get a look.
