  1. As BigRedBlooded alluded to, i dont think it was tacky, and i also dont think they were actively wishing for the Baylor guys to do poorly. They were just cheering. I personally would find it hard to root for a team that was trying to beat me, even if it was indirectly. I have been in the same situation at tounaments before and if i were them i think i would act in the same manner if one of those CBHS, MBA,BA guys looked like they might pull out a close one against a tough Baylor team. As they say, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
  2. I have heard of this idea being thrown out there; however, state indies are called the traditional style for a reason. Therefore i am not sure how many people would be ready to abolish team scoring at the individual tournament.
  3. The DII state tournament is double elimination.
  4. Yea nice backflip, great form. Just one question... I understand the kid just won state, and he is really pumped, and he wants that crowd to get into it, and everything else; but how is doing a round off back tuck in the middle of the mat after winning not ATLEAST a team point? Once again i know it is under a extreme circumstance but come on. I remember at state duals a couple years ago, Travis Cregan from Bradley Central was hit for a team point for flexing to the crowd after winning a match. So why not here? Give a fist pump if you feel it necessary, acknowlege the fans of your school, sign your sheet, and act like you have won before.
  5. Zeno is a good wrestler. But wrestling a live match in practice is no where near the same as wrestling a kid you dont see every day, in a venue like McKenzie arena, on a stage like the state individual tournament, especially for a young kid. Also, not to kick a dead horse so to speak, but he doesnt necessarily have an outstanding record against the big 3 in his weight class and he is on the same side of the bracket as Bauke and Manley. He is a talented kid but i dont think its his year
  6. Miller lost to both George Harmon and Colton Popp this weekend at 152
  7. The Crowd for the finals was pretty Baylor/Ryan heavy but that is expected, as they were wrestling in the finals. Overall each team was well represented. Other teams that i remember bringing good sized crowds from home included CBHS, MBA, SBA, and Brentwood Achademy. It was a fun crowd, particularly when Fr. Ryan and Christian Brothers had a close match going and there was a very vocal sea of purple surrounding the mat.
  8. Whats with the double forfeit at 215?

    CBHS

The Iolani Invitational in Hawaii where they got 5th and the Father Ryan Invitational where they did not do too well due to missing most of their starters who were on their way home from Hawaii
  10. Yes we have gone before, 2 years ago and placed 4th. Competing against teams from Hawaii, California, Oregon, and New York.
  11. That is correct. It was that Cape Central tournament.
  12. CBHS was there last year and placed second. They will be there again this year

  14. Chris Reynolds is listed on the Harper JC roster but i havent heard anything about him competing yet.
  15. "Pinning eighth-ranked Roger Smith Bergsrud of Illinois in 46 seconds, 12th-ranked sophomore Nicholas Marable (Collierville, Tenn.) earned his first Missouri Open title at 165 pounds. Marable began his run through the championship bracket with a win by technical fall, 20-4, in 6:02 over Jon Forbes (McKendree) and went on to earn a 21-8 victory over Matt Bailes of Central Michigan. Marable is 6-0 on the season and owns a 32-8 career record." Sounds like he won it in pretty dominating fashion.
  16. Just for the record, Father Ryan wrestled in the last CBHS duals which was held in 2006. Also, CBHS wrestled in the Father Ryan Invitational last year and is scheduled to again this year.
  17. Christian Brothers results vs. Missouri competition in the last 4 years: Tiger Classic 2003- 6th 2004- 11th 2005- 8th 2006- 4th Holding a winning dual record of 5 wins and 4 losses.
  18. Unless Chris Livingston transferred, he goes to Houston, not Cordova
