  1. I've told my teammates I meet in the hallways to get active. I've recommended a lot of them to wrestling, and if they didn't want to do that I told them they should lift. I guess the reason I am wishing they would do wrestling is because its helping me a lot. I've read articles about how wrestling will help a player out, more particularly linemen out with football. But the guys do need to get in the weight room and work up a sweat pumping some iron!
  2. Lifting is not mandatory until after Christmas. The TEAM resumes lifting then. What I am trying to hint at is I wish that my team mates would get this drive to want to better themselves. I just want them to better themselves and get bigger(strength wise lol). Some of us don't need to gain anymore weight(me for example haha)
  3. Yes lifting for CCHS has started. Though theres only about 10 that guys I believe from what the coach that watches them says. I wish the ones that aren't doing anything would start going or try playing another sport. Me, I joined wrestling and its helping me out alot.
  4. Wheres the Blue Cross Bowl game held? I would be interested in going.
  5. I'm gonna miss the seniors alot. I really got to know them good and they are some of my best friends. Its weird knowing I won't be playing anymore football with them, but thats the way sports go. I hope they can go play ball at a college. Thanks alot to our seniors and my best friends for the leadership they gave us. We'll have you guys in our hearts forever.
  6. JetFan21, the red headed guy is just a friend of coach Mac's. He is just down there to...well...be there I guess.
  7. If anyone quits I am going to kick there butt! We have gone through too much together to just up and give it all up at this point. To add to what cchsjets45 said, next season the team will have be pretty much all seniors and juniors. The line should be made of mainly seniors, while the skill positions will be made of a few talented juniors and seniors. I know there is talent in our school and I have tried talking to a couple of guys about joining the team. I am gonna continue to work hard in practice for these remaining two games, and when the season ends I am heading straight for the weight room to get ready for next season. I hope my team mates feel the same way I do. We don't need to give up. Lets fight on for the remainder of the season!!
  8. Go Panthers! I believe they can go down there and pull off a upset if they play their kinda game.
  9. I know I don't live in Bledsoe Co, but I hope Bledsoe gets things rolling and I wish y'all a real good season!
  10. It varies from different coaches I believe. I play under the last coach blueangel was with which is Tony Shultz. Our requirement is 8 quarters unless he changes it this year.
  11. That sounds good wingman! Hope to see ya.
  12. I hope we're both right on that. We just gotta get a good scheme going, have a good team attitude, and everyone work hard to do their part.
  13. To answer THE SQUAD's question about if we are staying in 5A. I was talking to one of my coaches(who is gone now), and I asked him if we would go down to 4A and he told me that we would want to stay in 5A. Due to the fact we would get moved to the same region as Maryville. So I can about safely say we will try to stay in 5A.
  14. Thank you for serving and good luck!
  15. Thanks wingman! How is the other teams in our region looking?
  16. Ya, what blueangel stated is pretty much right. It would be nice to get another 15 out though as you said wingman. We are not gonna have a very big Sr. class at all. We will be relying once more on Juniors and Sophomores. But come after this up-coming season is over. I can see our team being big on upperclassmen instead of lowerclassmen.
  17. DT and RT. I been tryin to slim up ya know lol. I've gotten down to 335 as to 360 from last year. Anyways, I hope to see ya sometime there Mr. Captain! Our QBs do need to come more. Dern basketball!
  18. We're working really hard to get it. I know FC and WC are working hard too so it should be a good battle!
  19. Bowen I believe could actually make a run at being our starter. He has the best arm judging from what I've seen so far. He has real good accuracy and can put decent distance under the ball. Johnson has a decent arm and isn't afraid to scramble but I must say, I believe Bown has good accuracy. I didn't have a chance to watch him play at the elementary school blue angel but I believe you may know a few things, will he run the ball if he needs to? I look for our region to be more competetive. We may be the underdog, but that doesn't mean that our guys will do all we can to make it to playoffs even if its just the 4th spot that gets us there.
  20. For the past 2 seasons alone, we have had only 2 victories. That was in the first season of the two I am talking about. Last season we went 0-10 with several of the games we were shut out. The ONLY way we can go is up.
  21. We do have a new starting QB mentioned above. I do believe we should be alot better off than last season. Even if we are still rebuilding.
  22. I'm looking foward to that Sasquatch.
  23. I heard the Panthers have some questions on their run defense, but have a solid pass D. Offense I didn't hear much about. I heard that Rockwood had the edge on SM at their spring scrimmage last Friday. But I wasn't present and this is what some teammates said. But I know Stone will be ready to come into our house ready for war as will we too. Scrimmage against Oliver Springs is May 11 at 5PM (Central Time) For those wondering about our full schedule, here it is. Cumberland County High School Varsity Schedule (All games are at 7:00 Central Time) Week 0 - Aug 24 - Stone Memorial - Home Week 1 - Aug 31 - Rhea County - Away Week 2 - Sept 7 - Lincoln County(Regional) - Away Week 3 - Sept 14 - OPEN Week 4 - Sept 21 - Cookeville(Regional) - Away Week 5 - Sept 28 - White County(Homecoming) - Home Week 6 - Oct 5 - Warren County(Regional) - Home Week 7 - Oct 12 - York Institute - Away Week 8 - Oct 19 - Coffee County(Regional) - Away Week 9 - Oct 26 - Meigs County - Home Week 10 - Nov 2 - Franklin County(Regional) - Home
  24. Our defense looks great. Our team is ALOT stronger than last season and we have a new offense in place which is alot better than the one we had last season. We will be alot more physical than last season and should be more aggressive. Look for a major improvement compared to last season. We are still finding our spot on offense though as we are still timing everything out and learning our assignments on the offensive side of the ball. But like I said, the D is looking great. We are also with more speed this year which should be really good for us this season. Hope this helps you out a little. As for playing Oliver Springs, we are ready to go to war Friday! Hope it will be a great scrimmage =) I know I am looking forward to it personally.
