  5. Are there some mistakes with some of pool 4's games or were those just a part of the changes?

  8. Clintwood and Bell Co. were good additions. Teams like Pound, Hurley, Twin Valley, etc., have no business on Volunteer's schedule or any like them. Doing nothing to help either there, and would just be a game for the subs to get more time. Would like to have seen Bell Co. still on our (Lee's) schedule. Most of the time it was a beat down but still nice to have, and the trip over to Log Mountain is usually nice, the atmosphere is great over there.
  9. What? No one was bragging about anything, and no one asked for congratulations. I was just telling you the correct number and the way things lined up. Nothing to take a shot at. And yeah, they beat them and lost to Volunteer (who's not a 1A team), so?
  10. 3 classifications, split into 2 divisions in which one state champion comes from each division=6 state champions...that's for football. Basketball was just recently split into 2 divisions also, but for one class. The other sports have 3....one state champ from each classification, no divisions. As far as those areas go, one has to make it to the finals to play the other, lol. But yeah, they still play, haha. 2007 VA state semifinal and final results: http://www.vhsl.org/fbsemifinals07.doc
  11. That would be 6...which will be the same number your state will play for next year /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  12. Well, I certainly know how to read a map. Love geography to be exact and know quite a bit about this region. I'd say some would say they are in east TN but not so much NE TN. When I said they could hold their own though, I was also considering matching more to size and such, for the most part. Maryville and Alcoa would certainly take it to most..they should. And are we judging all this while not seeing these teams? This is actually pretty much the same talk, about SWVA, when our teams go up state anyway, so its nothing new...haha. Of course, I'm not in agreement with everything these "VA boys" have said, however, lets not make TN into such a great "power". By the way, didn't TN High play Va High, and only beat them 28-17? Va High is no top team in SWVA.
  13. Gretna won the single A state championship...they are in 1A (Div. 2), like Gate City, not 2A. And while I think some SWVA teams would indeed struggle (depending on who were talking about and who they're matching up against howvever), there's some who could hold their own, and Gretna (with a healthy Nic Miller) would definitely be one of those.
  14. Clintwood won 33-16. Not sure what was with the Hogoheegee comment, but Clintwood is in the Lonesome Pine District. And Clintwood has more than 13 players (don't know exact numbers for them), they returned a good bit from the team that made it to the state finals last year in Div. 1. You may be thinking about Ervinton, VA (which is in the same county as Clintwood). They only have around 13 players.
