  1. Just 2 questions. 1) Will this be the year out coach gets his first EVER winning record? 2) Does anyone care? And yes I know football is not over and of course that is my first priority right now, but there are several kids that play more than one sport or intend to (mine included). Let's hear it Bledsoe Basketball fans.
  2. Warrior2024, you displayed alot of class Friday night to not try and run the score up. However, BCHSWAR is right that is all that many of us have heard. I don't know if you could have scored 50 or not, but there was no doubt in my mind that you could have made it much worse than you did. And I will say it again, our team did not show up at all. I am not taking anything away from your victory, but there was no excuse for us getting beat that bad! Also, as far as the officials I could not see many bad calls myself (not that I am an expert or anything), and I watched the entire game. On to the situation at hand, has anyone heard if the "powers that be" have addressed the individual having to be escorted out of the stadium? I haven't talked to anyone "in the know" to find out. I know things happen and we all lose our temper, but that is no way for a school employee to act and sets a very bad example for the kids. Maybe he did nothing wrong, and if that is the case then so be it, but someone needs to find out what happened and take the appropriate action. Also, who does everyone think we will play next week? Go Warriors!
  3. I have read this entire thread a few times now. Everytime I have to stop and dry my eyes so I can continue reading. As a son that had parents come to watch me play and now as a dad that gets to go and watch his son play with his wife I can not imagine what these two great men have gone through. I am truly blessed by the love, grace, and mercy of God Almighty. I don't know this father or son, but I am praying for you and thanking God for you and the impact that you have had on I am sure countless lives. Eternity only, will reveal the impact that you have had and the reasons why this happened to you, but I am sure this thread was in God's perfect plan and his infinite wisdom. God Bless You both.
  4. People not being excited about going into the playoffs reflects leadership. This comes from the top down. If the administration is not "fired-up" then the coaches and especially the community won't be. This is jus one of the many things that should be addressed. I have said very little negative about the football coach or coaches (except that one needed to get under control, and he has looked much better the last few weeks), but I have had several people come to me and tell how the coach had "bad-mouthed" the team and specific players after last Friday night. If the coach gets down on his players to the public...they are done. I am going to hope this is not true and I have not spoken with the coach about it and will not at this point in the season. Way off subject...but BCHSWAR what do you expect to hear about the basketball team (boys especially) when you have a head coach that in 10 years has NEVER had a winning record... NOT ONE TIME! I know it sounds like a broken record, but we do have TALENT in our school and on our teams we just have to have people in place to bring it out. I will go as far and just say it now, I think the football coach deserves another year under a new administration to see what he can do with proper support, but some other coaches (boys and girls basketball at least) need to go! They have had ample time and have produced NOTHING but consistent losing records. Sorry, I know this is way off subject, but it all goes hand in hand. On another subject, we do have many of us doing everything we can to support the team. Raising money, working to promote the booster club, etc. So, there are some of us very excited...we just need help. Let's all work together and send a message a week from Friday that Bledsoe County athletics is about to turn the corner and be a force to reckon with in the future! Go Warriors!
  5. I have not seen DCA only their scores so I don't know how they play, but as for Tyner we played really well against them in the first half...of course as anyone can see the second half we did not play nearly as well. We have the talent and ability to be competitive with these kinds of teams if and when everyone decides to show up and be ready to play. I wish we knew who we were going to play for sure, but I guess we will know soon enough. Go Warriors!
  6. Just wondering if anyone had an update on Thurman's foot. Is he going to be OK for the playoffs? I have not heard how bad he hurt it Friday when he came out. I know about Brown's condition, and we will sure need everyone healthy and ready to go a week from Friday. Go Warriors!
  7. I don't normally do this, but Eric you don't believe a word of what you wrote. I know you were at the game sitting with your family, but everyone saw the rediculous and embarrassing behavior of our fans and especially the bus driver and none of our school personel did anything. YOU know what should have happened and what needs to happen to turn this thing around. I know you support the team and I think that is good. I know you work with Little Blue some and that's good too. But, not doing all you can to help is not helping at all. AND YOU can help things alot if you just will. I have told many people that you do a great job as a Representative, and I think you do and support you 100%. I know this problem is not your job, but if people can help in any way to make things better, they should...and I mean ALL OF US! I know you care about the youth and future of Bledsoe County and many of us do, so it is past time to do something about it. And yes I know this is way off topic, so Sorry. Go Warriors!
  8. I don't want to hear anyone talk about humble pie, because it has to be better than the crow I have had to swallow. But, I will say it again...we have TALENT. We had the talent to play with any team we have faced and the TALENT to beat most of them. AND, I will admit that until I read some of the posts and heard folks talking over the weekend, I did not know how much of a discipline problem we had. But that can be handled and like it was said, our coaches will soon have the support they need to address this problem and I believe that it will be addressed. I hope I am not disappointed, and I don't think I will be. As far as the problems with some fans and someone being "thrown out" of the game, it is the responsibility of the administration, (superintendent, principal, AD, etc) to handle that. It is simple you behave like that and you don't get to attend anymore ball games. Case closed and problem solved! I don't know who we will face in round 1, and if we play like we can and prepared like we should be, we will be fine. If not...well everyone knows what will happen. Go Warriors!
  9. Congratulations to the folks at Cannon for a great job. Your boys played well, were well prepared, and came ready to play. You took control from the first play and never looked back. Good Job...as for the crow someone should be cooking up for some of us... I like mine hot with 57 sauce if you don't mind, but right now I am too sick to eat because of the pitiful display we showed. Our team never even showed up. The coaches were walking around in another world and it was their WORST performance of the year. They were obviously not prepared and did not have the boys ready AT ALL. The defensive scheme was terrible and the play calling worse. We played with no heart, were not physical at all, and no DISCIPLINE! I had to leave my seat and stand up when it got so bad that an employee of the school system had to be escorted out of the stadium area because of his actions. Then law enforcement officials had to talk to others as well, it looked like to me, that were on the sidelines. This was by far the worst display by anything to do with the Bledsoe County School System that I have ever seen. For the TALENT that our young people have, for something like what happened tonight to take place is just plain sad. I have said for months we had problems, but I did not realize until tonight how bad things really are (and I am not talking about the score in any way, just the presentation). Oh, and I guess, on a lighter note, we missed one particular RB more than some would have thought. Again, CONGRATULATIONS Cannon for a job well done.
  10. Billybob, from the way you attempt to spell and the grammer you use, that must be your real name and you must be a Cannon County graduate. But enough about that, because you just give me a headache. Cannon County has a long tradition of losing and that is what they will do tomorrow night. Unless our coaches and players TOTALLY check out on this one Bledsoe will make this one ugly. I mean no disrespect, but get serious...there is no way you all can compete with the TALENT we are bringing across the mountain. I have not even come close to saying that we are a super team or that we don't have problems, because we do. However, you all need to be happy with a 4-6 record, pat your coach on the head and your players on the back and tell them to work hard for next year because that is as good as you are going to do. Anyway, since no one from over there responded to my most important question earlier (where to eat) I guess we will stop in McMinnville. Go Warriors!
  11. I just state the facts as I see them, and for the most part people only complain and get mad because I have told the truth. My posts have nothing to do with anyone's playing time. I simply call it like I see it. Wardawg, thanks for the info about the Dunlap job. Again, as I posted earlier that is the rumor from down that way as I work with folks down there. As far as the coaching job in Bledsoe, I have it on pretty good authority that we will not get a new coach next year, for those wondering (good or bad, you can decide). I will only say this one more time...MY posts have NOTHING to do with SOMEBODY'S kid not getting to play! And Cannon County will do what Cannon does... They will lose. As long as our coaches and players show up at all, we win this one HUGE and I think they will be ready. Go Warriors!
  12. Penberton quit. He was not fired, just left. He is a great coach, his father was a great coach as well.
  13. Earlier this year everyone wrote on here how negative I was, now I am "cocky". This is so funny. I can't believe how many people dislike the truth. I have never stated that we had a great team. Just that we have TALENT, and that goes along way. With the talent we have we should have only lost 1-2 ball games so far, but we have obvious problems that I will not get into at this time. Our boys are playing much better than they were as a whole earlier in the season and just stating the facts... Cannon can not compete with our players. Just because you all are not as bad as you once were and you have a coach that knows a little football does not mean you can compete with Bledsoe. Cannon will do tomorrow night what Cannon does...THEY WILL LOSE! Bledsoe rolls in this one with a few scores to spare. BCHSWAR, I agree with you on most on your last post, but how many times should Watson be getting it? Should they just let him run it every play? Everyone goes straight to him because we have been so predictable. What about giving Brown the ball more? He has made big plays for us all year when we needed them and not taking anything away from Watson, he needs the ball more. What about our TE and WRs? How about more short pass plays? We don't have to be a one man show, we have other players and another very good RB. I'm not taking anything away from Chris but we have other weapons as well. Warriorhead, nice post about Scruggs, lol. Don't let folks bother you about little blue. I have not seen those teams play this year, but from the articles in the paper most of them are winning pretty big. Folks get jealous of success, don't worry about it. And as far as Cannon's coach not posting on here...word from the south of us, (have some folks I work with in Dunlap), is he is spending alot of time right now trying to get the Dunlap job lined up, so I guess he is busy. Go Warriors!
  14. You must be out of your mind! No offense, but have you forgot where you are and who this "#6" apparently plays for. If Cannon beats Bledsoe by 2TDs, we should send the whole bunch home and skip the playoff game. NEVER HAPPEN! There is no way we can possibly lose to Cannon. I know "any team can beat any other team on any given day", but as Wardawg stated you can't win the Indy in a Pinto (that's funny). Cannon can't beat Bledsoe. And yes I know it has happened once, anc with all the problems we have at this time, this team is far better than that. I am not saying they are where they could be, but at least they will beat a team like Cannon... with a few scores to spare. Go Warriors!
  15. Wardawg, I guess that is why they are opinions...we all have them and you and I just see things differently. You are a coach and all I have done is watched and followed this game and our team for many years. I agree you can't win the Indy with a pinto and if you are getting blown out by 30 and can't even be competitive I would agree that you might be driving a pinto. I have seen games where teams were just outmanned at every position. Nothing a coach can do about that or the players for that matter, it just happens. But when the games are continually close and you lose I stand by my earlier post...serious problems somewhere. Again, just my opinion, but I have watched this game for longer than many have been alive... no offense you included. I wish that were not the case, but it is. Time rolls on you know. Anyway, back to this week...There is NO way Cannon competes with Bledsoe's talent. Bledsoe WINS BIG and Cannon does what Cannon does best. Go Warriors!
  16. I am not "calling anyone out". Just made a statement that is all. I have stated about a few games that we have won that they should not have been close with the talent we have and they should not have been. But as far as this week, no way with the talent we have and the momentum we have built does a team from Woodbury keep it to a one score ball game as long as our players and coaches show up. Granted if we come out as flat as we were at Stone, it could be a little closer, but I don't think that will happen. Cannon has a long tradition of losing and that is a very hard thing to turn around. Also, they have lost several games close and after a while players and coaches on teams like that will lay down and quit because they do not expect to win. When you lose several really close games, also you have some serious problems. You either have players that don't expect to or want to win, you are not is shape and can't play 4 quarters, you have mental breakdowns and make silly mistakes, you are not prepared for your opponents, or you were out coached. I have obviosly not seen this team but the things I mention go along with that type of ball club. But regardless...BLEDSOE WINS BIG and Cannon does what Cannon does...THEY LOSE. Go Warriors!
  17. That sounds like a great pep talk for the coach. It is good to have people behind you especially when you are losing and trying to build a program. Unfortunately, it will not matter how much fan support there is for Cannon this week. Cannon will do what Cannon does. They will lose, and this one will be ugly. Bledsoebtheboys thank you for the info about Thurman and Brown I hope they are both at 100% by playoff time. As far as my "trivia" as it was called, it sure is easy to get some people to post on here. No offense about that in any way, many of us would just like to see some people get more involved at the local level and use their influence to help push things along a little more. Again, no offense as I think the person I am referring to does a great job, just would like to see him get more involved here at home. And that particular individual is WAY WRONG on the score or is just trying to be nice, again this one should get ugly...Bledsoe ROLLS over Cannon! Go Warriors!
  18. Since you responded to my post, I will write back. If you think fumbles and penalties are not coaching, you obviously KNOW NOTHING! That is all coaching. Those things are worked out very early on or players should run til they drop. Not showing up for practice or games...COACHING...They have no discipline and no motivation. If these things are true, you all have more problems than I thought you did. Sorry for all of you that have kids in that school, but I do hope we keep you on our schedule...Everyone needs an off week.
  19. I know this is way off subject, but check the record books for Pikeville Elem. School back in the late 70's. There are a couple of interesting records that were set. Does anyone know what they were and who set them? I know that goes back before your time bchsguard98, but I bet Wardawg knows what I am talking about. I know that takes in a little history, but there were enough newspaper articles written back then that I am sure someone on here knows what I am talking about. Too much fun to reveal anymore at this time, just real interesting team and records set, so I would not say the '94 was the best ever although they were right up there. Oh well back to this week, has anyone heard if Thurman is OK to play or if he is hurt. I heard he was, but I am way out of the loop so that might not be true. Regardless, Bledsoe rolls in this one BIG. It was mentioned that the last time Bledsoe was at Cannon we lost, isn't that the only time we have EVER lost to Cannon. I could be wrong, but that is the only time I remember but we really haven't played them that many times. Go Warriors!
  20. Wait, they can't play each other ten times...I did not think of that many names to the game. You know the Nobody Cares Bowl, the One Win of the Year Bowl, etc. That just won't work. Sorry Crossville fans...just a little humor.
  21. Now that is funny. I just don't understand why people get so offended when the facts are stated. Stone has not won a game this year outside Cumberland County and they beat a team that has not won a game since year before last. That is the truth so Stone fans...stop complaining about getting your nose rubbed in the fact that you all are terrible (which is what you get for saying you would beat us) and do something about it. But for this week...Livingston gets a much needed first win of the season and Stone does what they do best...lose.
  22. Jasper is not very good. We had several mistakes and beat them anyway with the playoffs on the line. They do have that whistle, but you won't have to hear it (sorry Jasper fans) because they only blow it if they score or make a big play. York rolls in this one by 3 scores.
  23. I will not post on this thread again because this game is over. I have never bashed our coaching staff in any way. I have stated that when some things happen that should not (meaning dramatic mental mistakes that cost you the game) it is poor coaching...BECAUSE IT IS. I have stated we need a new administration to turn things around in Bledsoe County...BECAUSE WE DO. I have stated that with the talent our players have that we should be doing much better than we are...BECAUSE WE SHOULD. I know I am from a different era than some on this board, but I don't think there is anything wrong with people just being honest. I guess I am wrong..oh well happened before. But to all Jasper fans that talked all that junk last week and to the Bledsoe fan (I can only think of one in particular) that did not think our boys could not win this one on talent alone (which is how we won this one) if you were at the game, you know and if you missed it YOU WERE WRONG. Go Warriors!
  24. I am with you about no one talking about this one. I guess there is just not alot to say. Its Cannon County. I just hope our players and coaches don't come out flat like they did against Stone and let Cannon think they are in this one. We need to get a big lead early and make sure we don't get anyone injured before the playoffs. Also, we need to get some playing time in for our younger players...like our second QB. If we get up on them by 3 scores or so early he could get some good experience in for next year. I am not looking forward to the drive to Woodbury, but I have not missed one so far and am not about to miss this beating...I just hope it is not too cold. On an important note, where would be a good place to eat in Woodbury before the game or should we eat in McMinnville? I don't like to watch a good beating on an empty stomach. Go Warriors!
  25. Fighting, bickering, etc. usually takes place between people who actually know what is going on, tell the truth, and want things to get better, and the folks who just don't know any better (sorry, but like Bledsoebtheboys) or deep down do not want really want things to improve and do not want to do or have their children do what it takes to make things better. I have watched ahtletics in Crossville for many many years and unless you all have a major turn around...Stone will be no better next year than this year. If you all continue to say well its just a tough region, or its just our 1st real season and we are building...you will not get better. Do something for the kids playing...demand a coaching staff that knows something about the game (it was obvious watching them play Bledsoe that they do not), demand the kids get in the weight room (in is apparent they are not strong), demand they get in shape (they are not), and do better for the youth up there. Like I said, fighting and bickering , as some call it takes place when some people want to see better things done...be that kind of person because you obviosly care about Stone and do not want to see them losing terribly. Oh, and look at the bright side... you all have Livingston this week and from their record and the scores of their games this year, they are bad so you might win one this week.
