  1. Cannon County is terrible. So you can't read much into LA's beat down of them. I don't know which QB will start this week for LA but it will not matter. Upperman will have revenge on their minds and my guess is they will get some. Upperman 46 LA 14
  2. Here's my take. LA has had a great year and so has Fulton. I feel quite certain LA hasn't seen anyone like this Fulton team. Can LA line up with 8 and 2 and ram it down Fulton's throat? Possible but not probable. 8 can throw it but can his WR's get seperation? I would think Fulton has looked hard at what LA's bread and butter is. AKA #8 and #2. Both really good athletes. On the opposite side Fulton is fast and faster. LA has not seen speed like they are going to see in this game. Does that mean LA CAN'T win? NO. Will it be tough to win for LA? I think so. Fulton has 4 SO's this year and maybe none of those teams were as good as LA. If the Cats get off to a good start, maybe they can hang in. I've got to think Fulton is really good though. Prediction: Fulton 35 LA 21
  3. In round one, LA was up 14-0 late in the first half. Dekalb went down and scored right before halftime although aided by a couple of questionable penalties against LA. DC starts the second half by driving to the LA 20 and seemed to have the momentum. But the Dekalb Co. RB fumbled and LA recovered. LA takes it right down the field and scores to make it 21-7. Game, set, match right there. That is why turnovers are so critical in any game, but especially the big ones. The "Umbrella Coverage" has worked everytime since DC has gone to the "throw it every down" offense. It appears that LA rushes 3(sometimes 4) and drops the rest in coverage. DC has had no success against this. And if game 1 is any indication, DC has no answers for the LA offense. Hence my prediction: LA 35 DC 20
  4. Did LA beat Fulton in a year ending in 5? I think Fulton won the game 18-7 if you are referring to 2005. LA didn't play Fulton in the playoffs in their title run. Let me check my taroh cards to be sure.
  5. Last time I checked, I didn't see Stone Memorial in any Top 10 polls.
  6. I'm going to go out on an extra long limb and say B-rock plays.
  7. You are close there BD. Smith Co. beat Gordonsville 15-14 in 2OT. LA should win this game but I've seen lots of teams play well when their backs are against the wall. Macon's bread and butter is running the ball and that is what LA has struggled with the most. The WH tailback had around 190 yards against LA and he had a 60 yard run called back. Pemberton is a heck of a coach and he is going to have his ready. MC 29 LA 28
  8. I got the winning team right and the amount of points WH would score. This had to be one of the best games @ old Tom Davis in quite some time. Two pretty good teams facing off. White House was victimized by several questionable calls. The block in the back on the long punt return right before half was iffy at best. The block in the back on WH with about 5 mins left that wiped off an 85 yard TD was also ???????. And the interference penalty against LA(LA intercepted the pass) that was mysteriously waved off was questionable as well.A few calls made against LA but not as many as were made against WH. As the old saying goes, there's nothing like a little home cooking. #9 appeared to be WH's best weapon but they, for some reason, quit giving him the ball middle of third quarter on. As for the game winner, it was a really good play call, but #2 and #8 carried the ball 95% of the time for LA. Looks like WH would have paid special attention to them. Nevertheless, nice win for LA. They have now defeated a team with a winning record. Looks like clear sailing for LA from now until the Dekalb Co game. That should be a real good game.
  9. Neither of these teams has beaten a team with a winning record so something has to give tonight. WH defense is supposed to be really solid and after LA dropping 62 on a decent Cannon Co team, they will need to be. WH offense is not real explosive so LA has a decided advantage in this game. LA 45 WH 14
  10. LA has beaten 4 bad football teams(6-17 combined record of those teams)but to LA's credit, they have beaten those teams like they were bad. In Cannon Co, they get the worst one so far. CC's team is almost entirely made up of FR and SOPH. LA will be 5-1 after this game with White House next up. Running clock the entire 2nd half of this one. LA 56 CC 6
  11. Street word is one of LA's best defensive players has been suspended for fighting. Probably won't matter though. LA dominated an excellent Upperman team. The offense is off the charts right now. White Co has given up some big points this year and Friday night will be no different. LA wins big over another sturdy opponent. White Co's good runningback will score once I believe. LA 52 WC 6
  12. In a close one 42-14? I wonder what your definition of a blowout would be? Anyway, everyone in the Bee nation is probably pretty fired up about their 3-1 start and rightfully so. But, their caliber of competition has not been very good. This one will not be close as LA unveiled last week just what this offense is capable of with a solid performance against a good Cumberland Co. team. It gets even better this week. I'm predicting LA 51 Upperman 7. York(the Upperman QB) tosses a TD pass with less than 3 minutes left against LA's subs.
  13. Winningham at QB? Won't happen trust me. When the game starts, #8 will be under center. As for the game, it doesn't appear Cumb Co is very good so I'm saying LA 52 Cumb Co. 6. After the poor offensive showing against Smith Co, LA explodes this week. Cumb gets one late when LA has their 3rd string in.
  14. Well another year and another Smith Co. win. I think the LA faithful thought this would be the year LA would start a win streak over Smith Co. but it didn't happen. Maynord's dominance over the cats continues. Wasn't impressed with either team's offense. I think LA had 19 yards in the second half. That's pretty bad. Smith Co. offense wasn't very impressive either. Coach Maynord just decided in the second half that they could ram it down LA's throat and that is exactly what they did. Smith Co. defense was really good. As someone said earlier on this thread, there's always next year. But LA has been saying that for several years and the Maynord/SC streak rolls on.
  15. This is probably the most talented LA team in the last 5-10 years. LA 39 SM 6 Stone gets one inside last minute against LA's 2nd and 3rd team.
