C'mon BigJ. Show the Warriors some love. They are off to their best start in years and look to have a great season by their standards. I haven't got to see them play yet but it can't be as bad as you say it is.

I can tell you straight up that this fencejumper has no hurt feelings about his decision to move his children. I'll leave it at that. I wish SP the best of luck in the playoffs as I still have family and friends who are part of that team at various levels. Now for York. Following our game in Jasper, most of the Warrior faithful had a huge amount of respect for York's players and fans. They were a class act all the way around. Obviously, their "travel" crowd and their "home" crowd are totally different people. Or maybe it didn't show up in Jasper because we can afford bleachers on both sides and didn't sit closely enough to witness the true character that makes up the York faithful. Their fans were the rudest and most unsportsmanlike fans that I have seen and I've been around a lot of ball. Cheering when they thought a Marion player was hurt. Cursing at the players on the sideline (yes, the visiting team gets to stand on the side that has the bleachers). All around just being total rednecks. I guess I expected too much. They were so afraid of the Whistle that they were crying to the officials before the game. I even heard that the two guys threatened to beat the #(#& out of Mr. Kirk if he blew it after half-time. Fortunately for them we didn't have much to blow it about after the half. I'm sure Mr. Kirk would not have let them back him down. I can't believe that they were that afraid of our whistle. That is pathetic. One thing is good. Crying to the refs didn't work because it blew all through the first half and never drew a flag. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> My opinion of the football team remains unchanged. I think they are well-coached and a pretty classy bunch of kids. My opinion of the idiots in the stands has changed dramatically. Bunch of cry baby rednecks they are!

I missed the game at Cannon County but heard that it was another solid performance. I don't understand what happened in the red zone sounds like we just choked. I think Bledsoe will be fired up for this game and Marion will have to play very fundamentally sound football to win. I think that we have the talent to do it we just need to go on the field Friday nite and take care of business. Marion has to be able to score when they get it into the red zone. That's a given.

O I think that if OP is as close to the program as he says he is then he knows the answer to my question. I said that I dont wont names or numbers so I wont go there. I just asked the question so that someone like you or that Jasper resident ZonePirate would have a opportunity to give an honest answer. You were talking about NJ stealing players I think it is just fair to ask how many bama guys are playing at SP. We both have been around valley football long enough to see players from Bridgeport, Stevenson, (recently NJ), South Pittsburg and Marion County who travel back and forth across the state line. The list that I could name is very long since the early 1970's. Don't act like they are all going one direction because you and me know that's not the truth.

Don't be sorry for posting how you feel. I'm glad that you are confident enough to be making such bold statements. That alone goes to show that Coach Barger is making vast improvements. This time last year you guys weren't even talking on here before the games. But, don't be so quick to overlook the Marion County Warriors. Our record isn't the best in the world, but we have lost to three VERY good teams. Richard City Pirates will have a very valid shot at being the Class A state champions. Tyner is Tyner and will be a factor in the Class AA playoff picture. Boyd Buchanan is a very well coached team that is one or two of their original starters away from being a playoff contender. Cannon is a much improved team but don't come into this game thinking blowout. Could prove to be a very bitter ending to an exciting Homecoming Week.

OldTiger is not the only one Misguided. Politicians use an old trick when they have no clue what they are talking about. If you talk loudly enough, often enough and passionately enough about something, those who don't know the truth think that you are pretty smart. OP must be a politician because he is certainly using this strategy. Why was the old elementary school burned? Because that way SP would have to get a new one before Whitwell or Jasper. Why was the HS gym hastily torn down? Because that way they could use not having a gym as leverage to get what they want. Also don't cry about the school board being stacked against SP. That is not the truth either. Mr. Case and the one before him Mr. Hawkins are diehard SP supporters even though their district includes other areas of Marion County.

Marion County seems to have things straightened out. Marion wins by 14.
