Thanks.. Just wondering because I have seen local high school spending a lot of time under instruction of coach. I haven't ever seen this amount of time being spent in past years. Coach is even pulling kids that are practicing at another sport to take part in his practices.

How much Practice is a coach allowed to have right now?

I've been noticing what a good year the girls are having in Maynardville .How long has Murphy been coach there? I was trying to figure out if he was coach when I had children playing about 8 yrs. ago.

I don't know why anybody would think Claiborne is going down hill. Most of the girls that are playing and the ones that quit, Coach Cook has coached in middle school and lead them to 30-0 and 28-2 seasons. The group of sophomores that are playing won the East Tennessee State tournament in middle school. Does feeder programs not have alot to do with a team's success? With the exception of one starter, these girls practiced hard against last year's very successful team. No doubt the competition they gave in practice helped last year's team to have the great season they did. The problems. Alot of the problems that have occured stem from alot of people (adults) running their mouths because they didn't get their choice of a new head coach. Alot of young minds have been polluted by various comments against Coach Cook. This team has already proven theirselves by defeating top ranked teams from last year and losing to others by only a handful of points. Most of these teams were 3A teams and a State Championship team. Downhill no! Down the road to a championship yes!!

claiborne lost at maryville 47-56. claiborne and elizabethton would be a game I would love to see.

Just had to put in a good word for Claiborne. I have watched these girls all season long play great ball. I have watched them beat some good 3A ball teams and watched the ones they lost to crawl back after halftime deficites to win by just a few points. These were all highly ranked 3A teams. They are clearly a very good team, very well coached and have what it takes to go a very long way. They also find it hard to get respect no matter who they beat. On GP's home turf Claiborne's freshman scored 25 points to clinch the second defeat for GP. The only respect they will get is from their peers on the ball court and not from polls that are decided by people who don't know what is going on. GO CLAIBORNE
