  1. it the district final that ended 5-4 and i think that was the only one i missed that year. aaron doyle is a character. do you know if he ever went and played soccer any where. i knew he was talking about transfering to queens i think but i never heard if he did or not....
  2. Thanks for the insight ihavenofriendzz. kinda interested as to who your source is.... did he grad in 04? i played club ball with the class of 04 and at sometime or another i think i played with every member of the class that played at farragut. Man that was an incredible team when they were seniors. that a good topic..... best teams from the past....
  3. I migh try to plan to attend this..... does anyone have a schdule detail or where i can find it and the cost of the venues?
  4. wow sounds like an incrediable tourny.... all games at OR high school?
  5. This happens more then you relize. keepers are cought off guard at times. it happens. don't act like you've never made a fool of yourself on the pitch. everyone has. period. easy to belittle others when you can hide behind a username..........
  6. ok just read the knoxville article about the dog attack on the keeper and understand the situation. that is crapy and i hope this doesn't effect there post season at all. they have some talented younger kids.
  7. is tanner playing in the goal?????????? this cannot be true? not the tanner that played forward for them last year. he is way to talented to be playing goal.
  8. i ment that the feild seem short. from touch line to touch line it seemed fine. but the endline to endline seemed short. sorry about the confusion. maybe the feild is now longer then what i remember it to be or i when i saw it all those years ago it seemed short to me. The apolige was for ref and calling him out. i thought that was a little out of line and i didn't want it to come off sounding jerk like. Gchunn i look forward to seeing you at the games next year and i do wish your boys the best of luck at the next level (all of those that are going on to play. oh and is it just the three? or are more going on to play?)
  9. Gchunn... maybe it's been that long since i've played on that feild but for some reason i thought that the feild was very narrow. maybe it once was and has changed. not sure. congrads on the victory. sorry if my comments were out of line. never ment to take anything away from seymour, just feel that in high school someone like mark is capable of doing this to ANYONE. maybe my veiw of this kid is extremly high but he impressed me from the moment i first watch him play in indoor, then even more when i watched him for a week at a camp. What i enjoyed most about this kid (and feel like this is why the sky is the limit for this kid) is his personality. Very upstanding, humble, and driven kid. i wish him the best of luck at the next level (i have a feeling college will not be the end for this kid) and the best of luck to both carter and seymour
  10. wow ref......... sounds like i didn't know what i am talking about after all. still want to take all those talented seymour attackers over Mark? tried to tell you the power that a game changer like that has at the high school level. and on carter's tiny field a goal off the kick off is like a free kick. i've seen three goals like that on much bigger fields..... crazy thing to see though and stinks really bad when it happens against your team (been there twice!!!!! once in club and once in high school but same kid. sad thing is second time it happened i warned our keeper that he was shooting off kick off and it still went in).
  11. thanks for the complement. that is true that there was only one game between our first game and the uk game. i do feel though that we did not excert much energy in the first game. everyone with the exception of maybe three or four played only one half in the first game but UK brought out a fresh squad that had not played that day already. With that factor and the refs, i9 was very shocked by our level of play and composure ( it was very obvious that there was home advatage with refs, they tried making it hidden by giving us two or three peity calls. i never understood why refs think that it is not obvious when they try to do make up calls, but it never justifies only makes it look peitiful, sad and obvious). Looking forward to next season and seeing you a ton..... should be interesting. oh and are you coming to the LMU game? it is next week i belive.
  12. i'm confused by your reply ref? do you want me to go on or is that just a tug on my string? and if you really do want me to go on what do i go on about? and for what i do not know can you please enlighten me? i do not know if my whole statement is irrational or just parts. if it has to do with how carter really plays or the type of player mark is then i have no response... what i said is based on what i have heard and saw of mark when he was a freshman. i have only created an image based on those two things and my whole how they play is how i would set my system up and not how they really play. like i said it's been years since ive seen them play. just confussed oh and how do you know neto? do you ref at the college level as well? if so do you ref all classifcations (NAIA, D-I, D-II, and D-III, or even juco)?
  13. Been there and it is crazy...... what's more weird is the details i can remember about games that i played in a loooooooong time ago but i can't remember what i ate for lunch /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  14. i do belive that ur boys will be a great fit at uc and will adjust well with time. i will pass on the message to my coach. i remember seeing you at that camp when mark was only a freshman to be (lord how time flies)..... i think i might have played against you during my time in high school (if you remember who i am). i am glad to hear the success that your program is bringing and i hope that it continues. Neto is an amazying coach and nows how to develop players and get them to play in his wicked schyme.
  15. I am just a current player at uc and i played high school/club in Knoxville. There are three knoxville boys getting playing time with the varsity roster at this moment, two starting and one being the 12th off the bench. so it is possible for k-town kids to play in this program. Spencer should do very well at johnson. He is a simple player and holds the ball well, not forcing it or giving it away. He should be a great fit and excelle in that program.....
  16. Don't be suprised to see him on the reserve list.... good player but you have to understand the level of play that is involved with our varsity. I would not be suprised to see the two from Carter on the reserve. One or both might get to practice with the varsity but will play games with the reserve and will very unlikly dress or travel with varsity. Regardless, seeing varsity play time their first year will more then likly not happen. Doesn't mean that there is not something to work towards or that they potential is not there. Anything is possible. Everyone said i wouldn't make it as far as i did...... so the proff is in the pudding. spencer will be playing at johnson bible college and sounded like he would get the oppurtunity to shine right off the bat at Center mid.
  17. great reply balboa and that does give more more insight to your first post and better understanding of what point you were trying to get across. i do some what agree, but i would still take mark and his two wingman (is what it seems to be indicated by other post) over the talented organized strike of the 5 or 6........ ONLY at the high school level. Mark makes a coaching job easy. A target forward that big and posses the smooth footskills that can finish is very close to being irreplacable at the college level and at the high school level he is rare. He has the two intangibles that would make it so simple to play a 5-4-1 or a 4-5-1. Never really heard of Mark having problems finding the back of the net, REF constantly states the problems that seymour has finishing (I've been there and it is the worst feeling ever). At a high school level Mark and two talented players trump that of a skilled attack by 5 players, Carter is allowed (i would encouarge this to give more room uptop for sherrod) to hold more defenders back in better deffinsive shape. I think this style could be most effect and Carter has the perfect player to allow this system to work. Regardless, Carter can attack with less and probolly be just as effective (Does carter use this to their advantage? i have no clue because i have not seen them play). Carter seems like they could counter better and faster, if seymour pushes those numbers then look out for mismatches with sherrod on a counter.
  18. Hey yo ref! what's wrong with our reserve squad (don't even call it jv because that is not what it is)? May i remind you that a player by the name of craig cook (now arguable one of our MVP's) played reserve his whole freshman year and then proved himself to get to play varsity. Only VERY few players do not see time with the reserves. Alot of key contributers have come from this system and got their chance (I am one of those that was told i would never play college varsity at a competive level). They can make varsity and stand a better chance next year due to the lack of experience returning. They could end up practicing with varsity some in the fall and by spring be on the varsity roster. I Say this only to say that it is possible for ALOT of players to make it at the next level. Pick up your consistance, improve daily, and work like there's no tommorrow. Spencer could have played varsity when it was all said and done, but he has decided to go play at another school for different reasons. i belive that he could have eventually contributed to our success and he will be missed. i do wish him the best of luck. oh and i wouldn't consider two brazilians to many (we will add two more next fall, three tops) We are not LMU..... Neto does a wonderful job recruiting different varieties of players from all over the world to play in his unique hybrid system.
  19. Do you know how many Doyle finished with his senior year? you have way more insight then i do
  20. sorry balboa but "The fact that Seymour doesn't have a "Sherrod" caliber player will be there advantage in this game because in a big game like this, the pressure of scoring is not resting on one guy" doesn't make much sence. Who will step up for Seymour in the biggest moment of the year. I think every team needs this type of player. Big time players step up in games that matter. i haven't seen sherrod play since the summer before his freshman year, but i'm going to take a very educated guess (trust me i have keep up with this kid) that he is a big time player and if he was the ONLY scorer on my team then i would gladly have him as my only scorer. He is way to dangerous.... his presence alone has to open oppertunities for others to get better scoring oppurtunties and then in return it works to help him open himself up if he can use his team right. I've been the only offensive presence on a high school team (imagine a diego but not as fast but more on the technical side on the left mid). Good players trive on this "pressure" that you speak of. I lived for it and it's what keeps me coming back for more. i only had to do it one year, where as mark has done it his whole high school career. trust me, the pressure on mark does not add to the disadvantages but will only bring out his best. Should be a good game and great chess match! Good luck to both teams..... and i hope to come out and check this game out. i want to see those Carter seniors who came up to our camp right before they started high school... man has it been that long? oh and i heard that carter did sign two to come play at UC? is that offical?
  21. wow lc gets a draw with bearden. congrads. always a good environment/team to play well against and even better when you get the result to show. now if we can continue to see this trend with other programs getting better, we could see Tenn competing for national championships during the club season. This all began with great coaching getting better over the past 5-10 years. i knew some great coaches in my club days in the knoxville area, but there are more now and they all are getting better and wiser...... Here's to the coaches /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> you earned it.
  22. yes i will be back in the fall for my final year of college ball and i hope to see you a ton next year. We do play a pretty tough schdule next year too so it should be interesting. plus loosing alot of seniors will make it tough. The small group that is coming back is starting to really come together and was the squad that dominated that NKU team that was in the final four and a DIII team Ohio northern that finished 11th. The funny thing is after the NKU game i walked passed their team "having a team discussion" and they were so upset that they were handled by a NAIA team. Even stating that we didn't deserve to play on the same feild as them. They are able to play with us one year (last year) and then all of sudden they are to good for us. We have always handled them in the spring without seniors with the exception of last year, even with them being a top 5 team the last 3 or 4 years in DII. I do have to say that i was suprised with UK though. they didn't play as direct as i thought they would. I understand why they want to get in wide and cross it in. They are sooooooooooooooooooooooo darn good at it. i have never seen a team get the ball wide and wipe crosses in like that and be so deadly in the air. it was crazy. We are better at getting it wide and playing on the flanks but for different reasons. i do have to give it to UK, i think they outplayed us and were the better team. they were clearly more athletic then us (with the exception of Loki who was the most athletic player on the feild and mark miller's speed). As for the ref....... you bet there was some home cooking. told our players he wasn't giving cards but then turn around and gave cards. told us he didn't give a card to the kid who mark miller beat to put him in the 18 one v one with keeper because there was two guys there. He must have been blind because mark was one v one on the top of the box and the closest player was way over 30 yards away and they couldn't even hang with mark's speed if he gave them a head start much less giving him 30 yards. i belive that we got outplayed, but because of our skills we made this a very good game. maybe even had better looks at the goal. i do have to say i am suprised as to the movement towards rough play becoming fair play in the US. Refs are allowing for this to happen and it will only turn our sport into hockey. It's not fun to watch some one who has so much skill be allowed to be beat by dirty play. our players would be playing the play and uk would only play our team. i understand that there is a certain amount of hand use in soccer but when players can shove and obsruct others then the beauty of the game start to loss meaning. just because a player is bigger stonger and faster doesn't allows mean that he can play the game legal. once again not fun to watch when refs allow for this style to prevail. if the more atletic team is better then they are better, but the rules should still be inforced and i think refs have lost sight of what contact is legal and what is illegal.
  23. what district is hva in?
  24. LOL /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> yeah he actually has quite a bit more then big G. i think 8 all total. he still has the hugh recruiting budget but i believe that is about to change because lindsey is getting a football program. i am interested to see how this effects what is truely a soccer school.
