  1. I'm sure all the Boone kids were perfect angels tonight.....but I agree I guess it is classless, I didn't see anything so I will take your word for it. Sumo probably ran the ball 12-15 times. He should have ran it a few more times. He had a great year. The O-line should only get better next year. If only we can learn to pass......... Boone's D is good. Probably the best we saw all year. Crockett lost its steam down the stretch on O. I think the teams we played, including Boone, were just stronger than us. We need to get stronger or next year will be tough without Sumo. I think Boone should make it through the first round. Mo East will be a tough match up though if they can get healthy. Good luck! Oh absolutely not Boone was not perfect angels, and it is a rivalry game...but that is a bit too far in my opinion bud. Lots of PF at the end by Crockett and I think 1 by Boone, so no way were they perfect....but spitting on the DB? Come on now... Slow down, I understand what you are saying. I'm just saying that I didn't see it happen because I guess I just wasn't paying attention to midfield. So I take your word for it.
  2. Great job Boone. They controlled the game. Good luck in the playoffs. 3. We can talk about basketball next week. I will say.... Crockett will be the most improved team in the Big 8. On to the game. My hopeful predition: Crockett 26 Boone 21 -Crockett gets the O going early. (7 first half points the past three games). -Sumo or Gillen have a monster game. -Crockett keeps the penalties low and doesn't turn the ball over. What will happen: Boone 24 Crockett 13 -Boone will shut down the run game. (Sumo will get his yards, but only one Td) This forces Crockett to pass . -The face says it all about the passing game. -Crockett's D will keep them in the game, but it won't be enough. -Boone forces at least two turnovers. One INT and one fumble. -Crockett will get called for at the least one personal foul. -Crockett will miss or have one extra point blocked. I think this is going to be a good game. Crockett has their season on the line. Boone would like nothing more than to make sure Crockett misses the playoffs.
  4. I think Crockett can get in if they lose, but it would take a near miracle because it would take many many teams taking a loss this week. However, if they win I think they will get Mo West in the 1st round. I think Boone will get Mo East. I could be wrong.
  5. #34 (Senior) Sumo #2 (Senior) QB, DB, Special teams. He has played almost every play for DC this year. #25 (Junior) FB, LB -He has been playing well on D the past couple of weeks. # 13 (Senior) Safety, wr. He leads the team in tackles and Rec. Tds. #45 (Junior) FB, DE. He may not play (he didn't against South), he might be the most athletic kid on the team. #21 (Senior) RB, Kick Return, I look for him to get some carries early in the game. He has some speed. #74 (Junior) DT, You can't miss him. He will line up on the center.
  6. According to Crockett's stat page they ran for over 300 yards and Sumo ran for 136 of it against the Hill. Everyone not named Volunteer and Central has doubted Sumo and the Pioneer team this year. I expect them to lay it on the line this week.
  7. We did not lose a lineman to a 2 game suspension. We had a kid who was told by the ref up at D-B to go to the bench and cool down for a couple of plays. He was a little heated because DC was called for 3 personal fouls that one defensive drive. However, we did have an O lineman out against South due to injury. He should be back this week. I look forward to this game. Crockett is a couple of plays away for being where Boone is at record wise. I think this will be a better game than some people think. Sumo has had a terrific year. I think he went over 1500 yards rushing for the year last week.
  8. I think you need to work on your analysis of football, because that Rebel D played pretty well. Reletive to DC? Or relative to THS? Again, you missed the point. Relative to holding a team to 6 points and doing what they needed to in order to get a W. I don't miss the point. I'm not comparing South to anyone. The goal is to win games and the South D did what they needed to. Will they next week? I don't know. You can compare teams all you want, but none of that stuff matters until they hit the field. Regardless of what you think, South played a pretty good rushing team and they held them to around 200 yards. Crockett has been averaging 250 plus a game on the ground.
  9. The D has played very well for the past 4 weeks. They have kept DC in the game. It is hard to beat South when they started at the 50 or less for most of the game. If Crockett can get Sumo rolling early this will be a very good game. If they have to pass.....watch out because Boone may win by 20.
  10. DCFan, I know a few teachers and a few college professors as well. Just friends of mine. And they all say the same things. And that is that their students all have the same shortcomings. They can't seem to comprehend what they read. You seem to fall into this group. I said nothing about DC. If I had I would have said good things because I felt they played the stronger ballgame. Every word of my post was about the Rebels. The reference about Sumo was merely to compare him to what is understood to be the best RB in this conference. As to say that if the Rebels play the same way against Bristol then Tallman will crush them. Now for Sumo...he is a fair RB. That's my opinion. Fair. I don't care if he has 5000 yards. Now if that tells you how I feel about how our Defense played then maybe you are getting better at reading. Sumo is a fair RB. Tallman is a top shelf RB. Period. My opinion. Well I guess my college degrees mean nothing. I think you need to work on your analysis of football, because that Rebel D played pretty well. If you notice, I did not mention that you said anything about DC...work on your own comprehension skills there buddy.....I simple took up for a kid that you have watched play just one time in which you did talk about, even if you were comparing him to someone else. The kid has played hurt for 3 weeks. With the injury he has, he is going to lose a step or two.
  11. compusatman, I'm sorry you feel the need to 1) put down your own team. and 2) put down a kid that you have probably watched play one game and know nothing about. You were probably the same guy that I could hear from the Crockett stands screaming at the refs all game. On that note, I'm tired of hearing some of the Crockett fans yell negative things at the coaching staff and team. And if you listen to our fans, everytime we lose a game the refs play a huge part in it. You know sometimes DC just doesn't have the same "pop" as other teams do and that is the reason we lose the game. And sometimes, the other team gets a bounce or two go their way. (This wasn't the case lastnight, South was the better team.) DC played with great heart lastnight. The D game up with a number of big plays and stops. It did its part to give Crockett a chance. The O just didn't get rolling until it was too late. Turnovers and penalties didn't help us either.
  12. He's just a 1500 yard back. No pop...... Tn High is the best team I've seen this year in the conference. I am pulling for South, but I think they have a tall task ahead of them next week. I forgot to mention that Sumo has played hurt the past 3 weeks.
  13. He's just a 1500 yard back. No pop...... Tn High is the best team I've seen this year in the conference. I am pulling for South, but I think they have a tall task ahead of them next week.
  14. I'm sure they are saving them for after the first round of the playoffs........
  15. I'm sure Greeneville misses the IMAC. It has got to be boring to show up every week during conference play and know you are going to win by 40 points. I miss the trips down to Morristown, but I think the change in conference has been a good thing for Crockett. We are now playing in county rival Science Hill. The stands were packed for that game.
  16. If Crockett can eliminate penalties they may have a shot to be in the game. I'm not sure if the Crockett line will have much success the next two weeks.
  17. It is going to be a battle Week 10 especially if the playoffs are on the line. If Crockett can limit the penalties they may have a shot the next two weeks. There were so many calls against us Friday night I didn't know what to do with myself.
  18. I think it was the backside pursuit that hurt Crockett in the first half. Choppie looked like he ran much harder in the second half to get to the outside when they did run. Crockett's money play with Sumo takes a while to develop and against faster teams if you don't cut off that backside it really hurts Crockett.....that has been a problem in the past. I don't disagree that the young man you are talking about probably caused havic, but DC ran more misdirection in the second half and more straight up the field than they usually do. He also probably ran the ball 5 or more times in the second half than he did in the first half. Good job holding him to only 126 and the team to something around 200 yards rushing. Good luck this week. You guys should put it to the Hill if you can stop that Qb of theirs because you should have a field day running it.
  19. Very hard game to watch. The refs weren't the worse I have seen all year and they were by far not the best I have seen. Crockett shot themselves in the foot in the second half. They get the ball to start the second half and they manage to get to the D-B 10 only to be called for a penalty (unsportsmanlike or something along those lines)...that makes it 2nd and 25. They throw a pick on 4th down. D-B gets the ball. On third and short Crockett is called for something....15 yard penalty. Sensabaugh runs for a 30ish yard gain, another penalty 15 yards, then another penalty...half the distance to the goal line, then D-B runs it in on 3rd or 4th down. Crockett gets the ball and scores. D-B goes 3 and out. Crockett gets the ball and gets called for another penalty inside D-B's 25 yard line. That makes it 3rd and long. Crockett throws another pick. Crockett had their shot to make it a game but blew it. Poor game management and penalties hurt Crockett bad. I know some Crockett fans will blame it on the refs, but we just got beat.
  20. It would take a miracle, but if things fell just right, Crockett could get a 4 way split of the conference title. Crockett would need to win out. Boone would need to beat Tn High and South would need to beat Tn High. Correct me if I am wrong but if that were to happen the standings would look like this: Boone 5-2 *Lost to Crockett and South South 5-2 *Lost to Crockett and D-B Tn High 5-2 *Lost to South and Boone Crockett 5-2 *Lost to Tn High and Science Hill Again it would take a miracle and I am certainly unaware of the tie breaker system and how it works. A more plausable senario is that Crockett finishes 3rd. They would need to win out to finish tied for third or they would need to beat South and either D-B or Boone while South takes a loss to one of their remainding foes. Also, Crockett could finish second if Boone takes one more loss and Crockett can find a way to win beat Boone and either South or D-B.
  21. That is the first thing I want to read! Back on topic....hasn't D-B beat Science Hill 15 or so years in a row? Sorry I'm a little behind, I have been following the IMAC up until this year.
  22. The seating at South Greene was pretty bad. I'm ready for tomorrow night. Any word on Sensabaugh. I hope he plays. I have heard nothing but good things about his ability.
  23. Our visitor stands just go to the 37 one way,6:30 will be plenty early for this week.If it were South coming in,I'd be in line before 6:00 when the gates open.If I were a visitor,I'd get in line right behind the baseball grandstands and get one of the home seats that have not been picked up,that window opens at 6:00 I think.I wouldn't sit in those crappy visitor seats we offer. When that starts to happen,I bet you we will see some seats being built across the way, baseball field or not. Thank you for the information. This will be my first trip to D-B for a football game. I was very unimpressed with Science Hill's stadium so I'm sure D-B couldn't be worse.
  24. I hope D-B is thinking about The Hill as well. How many in a row has D-B won in this rivalry? I think this is the first time that the schools have played I think Science Hill and D-B have been playing for a while.
