  1. Hewgly and Baldwin finished second in their district to Rhea County's Billy Whisman and Kelly Lane. They moved on and defeated the Rhea County boys in the regions to win the region championship. Congrats to McMinn.
  2. I have heard that Rhea's coaching staff is looking to make an exit once again. I have heard that they are wanting out of there after another mediocre year. I have heard from some of the football players that they have heard he is wanting out.
  3. must be in the water... but I agree... Maryville in a landslide
  4. Just about any decent QB would be ok if they were surrounded with Maryville's players and coaching staff... but all that aside, Congrats to Maryville and good luck next week in Murfreesboro Just about any decent QB would be ok if they were surrounded with Maryville's players and coaching staff... but all that aside, Congrats to Maryville and good luck next week in Murfreesboro
  5. Mr. Wilson... I had heard it was you but I didn't want to believe it. But I now understand why you did it. I know that you got motivation in Rhea's locker room because I had spoken with them about various things. The infamous m4rcut always came into the topic. Congrats, and I don't think of you as any less of a man for your comments. Thank you for the motivation that you brought the Rhea County boys. And, I miss you as being the QB of the Golden Eagles!
  6. My prediction: Maryville 34 Rhea 27... Rhea loses the turnover battle and Maryville's passing game proves too much for Rhea's secondary; once again, Rhea ends the season at the hands of the Rebs!
  7. Well said... I agree whole heartedly.
  8. Mac was a pretty good force on the O-line last year at Maryville. He blocked fairly well for Pritchett and Sharp. His pass blocking was average for Wilson. I don't know about him giving Maryville a fit on the O-line. To the best of my memory, Mac played a whole lot better on D-line at nose than on the other side at guard. I may be wrong, but that's the way I saw it last year.
  9. Rhea hasn't played a full game this year. If they did, they would have a better chance this week. I think that GQ & Co. will end Rhea's season yet again. Sorry guys, but face it: Maryville has ended Rhea's season how many times in the past ten years? I know it is over half of the years. Rhea will, once again, get outcoached this week. Turnovers could prove deadly for the Back Valley Boys. If they play together, they have the talent to make up for the so called coaches.
  10. RB will cruise this week. They won't really be threatened until they get to travel in the quarters to Maryville. Then, the Lions will find out that they can't stack up against the dynasty of the Rebels!
  11. My thoughts for tomorrow night: Rhea wins in a hard fought game. Score: Rhea 27 White 14. The cannon in Sparta shoots off only twice! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  12. It's going to be a long busride to White County. I hope Rhea gets a lot of thinking done. Maybe they will get it in gear and make Friday a good one in preparation for M-town. Maybe Rhea can finally put together a game where they run on all cylinders. If they do that, they would be very hard to beat. They played with RB minus the two INTs for TDs. They have beat pretty much every team that they have played except for mental errors and turnovers. Oh, and did I mention, they get outcoached. But I won't bash them too much. The OC needs to get some variety in his playcalling. It seems like he runs Sharp every play. I understand if it works that you keep running it, but not three plays in a row! That's just some of my thoughts. Go ahead and bash me.
  13. If you are referring to RheaCo, he didn't play football. He was a golfer for Coach Rue and also maintained stats for the baseball team his senior year (I think). He is a good guy and every time that I watched practice this summer he was there. He was at almost all of the preseason games and is at every game. I know this to be pretty accurate. And yes, none of us like you; I have heard of an old saying or two: If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. The second goes something like this: It is better to be silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt. -Abraham Lincoln As for the Maryville game, that's next week. They have to concentrate on White. They may be in the 1-8 area, but Rhea can't look past any game. They haven't ran on all cylinders one game this year.
  14. Maryville names the score. Rhea is one dimensional. All they do is run Sharp to death. Maryville is smart enough to see that on film and they will put 8 in the box and run man with their receivers. I'm pretty sure that they have enough talent to cover Anderson, Moffett, Brown, and Sharp. Speaking of which, what happened to Randy Sharp last week? He went down on the Cleveland sideline. And what is the current injury report for both teams?
  15. Gameday. Little rain. Cooler temps. It's Cleveland week. What more could the Rhea County boys want? They should be motivated simply because they get a shot at the Blue Raiders. Score prediction for Rhea's Senior Night: Cleveland 21 Rhea 34
  16. Everyone that has ever been around Rhea County football should know the hatred that we have for Cleveland. Yeah we hate RB also, but ever since the whole Tim Cooper deal and the year of the Back Valley Brawl I believe Cleveland has become the most hated school in all of Rhea County!
  17. 5A: Riverdale vs. White Station 4A: Maryville vs. it doesn't matter because they don't have a chance!
  18. This game is always my favorite of the whole season. This game will have a playoff atmosphere with both teams fighting for 3 and 4 seeds in 4-4A. The winner will travel to Knoxville (Central or Powell) and the loser gets the privilege of Maryville first round. This game is always a good one for both teams. With Cleveland coming off a win against Hixson, how will they play against Rhea? Will Rhea be able to bounce back after falling to likely region winner Red Bank? Can Rhea stop Tipton's jump ball and his running ability? Can Cleveland stop Rhea's running game?
  19. My prediction for the week is as follows: RB 42 Rhea 27 on a missed PAT
  20. Are you kidding me? Hunter is not a redneck. Just because he is from Rhea County doesn't automatically make him that. Stereotyping is wrong. You shouldn't judge him by his hometown. Hunter is one of the nicest people that you will ever meet. He will bend over backwards to help you in almost any situation. So maybe you should actually talk to him before jumping to that judgment.
  21. From the way I understand it, if Rhea wins out, they would finish no worse than two. I think that if it was a three way tie, the overall records play into effect.
  22. Well, I have yet to formulate a guess for final score, but I am starting to lean towards RB. Rhea just hasn't really impressed me this year as they have in the past. I think that they will finish number three in the region and will travel to Knoxville week one of the playoffs. By the way, who is in line to finish number two, behind the infamous Maryville?
