  1. From all I have heard it sounds like it will be an aerial show for both teams with Science Hill winning the running game. If that is the case I would give the edge to Science Hill. Nobody has said much about South's ability, or inability, to run this year. Do they have a good running game? I don't know much about either team except that Phillips passing for South and Duanah running for Science Hill seem to be the highlights for each team from what I have read. I know the Phillips kid can run well for South unless Science Hill shuts him down like DB did last year. Again, I don't know much about either team except what I read. I did see both play last year one time but a lot can change with graduations from one year to the next. Good luck to both this season!!!
  2. Volunteer and Gate City both showed some good things but both still have some work to do. I was impressed by Gate City QBs, both made good cuts running the ball. Also impressed with Volunteers backfield, hard running QB, TB, and FBs. Gate City was a hard hitting team on Defense. There was definitely some hitting going on on both teams. Hard to tell in scrimmages with substitutions on both sides of the ball. TriCitiesSports.com summed it up pretty accurately IMO. Final score was Volunteer 33 Gate City 28 ( Volunteer flubbed 2 extra points ).
  3. I know SH can hit so Betsy pitching must be pretty good, unless you want to blame it on early season woes.
  4. Other things to remember: Pearl Harbor, Hiroshima, and The Battle at Grenada. Over before it started. Congratulations to both teams for a great season but it is almost over.
  5. They only got two games left. DB and whoever they play in Knoxville. Just my opinion, not trying to hate on anybody.
  6. Hold the districts in a Central location ( Big 9 = South, Central, DB, or Boone ) It makes little sense to send everybody to one end of the area unless they have an awesome place to play.
