  1. Well the reason the scores are so close are because the biggest points in the tournament come from winning the semi-final round. The advancement points to the finals are huge. Cleveland had 5 finalists compared to Pope's 6, so that helped them hang on, and the points they scored in the consolation round made the final so close
  2. Well the Aggies don't have Division 1 wrestling, though a quick trip to google showed me that they have an NCWA program. Nobody in Texas has a Division 1 team. Mizzou has had a very good team the past few years, but they are not yet part of the SEC, it's still just talk Don't get me wrong, I would love for Division 1 wrestling programs to pop up throughout the SEC and our region, but I think you are getting a little ahead of yourself. I hope that if the SEC picks up Missouri that it would start some change, but I don't think the addition of Texas A&M will do anything to add wrestling to SEC sports
  3. Is that all the wrestlers from TN that participated or were there more? I'm too lazy to look through the brackets myself

  5. If you want to hear the story from Doug's mouth, here it is http://www.flowrestling.org/speaker/3420-Doug-Blubaugh/video/481479-The-1960-Training-Camp
  6. http://themat.com/section.php?section_id=3&page=showarticle&ArticleID=23568 Here's an article. It seems that he won the finals match in typical Nick Marable fashion "Marable fell asleep a couple of times in his finals bout but was spectacular from the defensive position in the third-period clinch for the win. He showed heart and has darn good hips." -Zeke Jones
  7. Nick Marable (2X AA for Mizzou out of Memphis, TN) just made the finals of the U.S. Open in Freestyle, you can follow the tournament here http://www.themat.com/section.php?section_id=3&page=showarticle&ArticleID=23434
  8. You left out stuart doster. I know that he's listed as GA but I think it's safe to call him one of our own he lost his first round EVERET DESILETS(RI) DEC STUART DOSTER(GA) 7-3 and here's his next match STUART DOSTER(GA) vs JESUS DOZAL(ID)
  9. You might want to change that Brian Smith bio, because I'm pretty sure he has coached 3 NCAA champs. Ben Askren x2, Mark Ellis, and Max Askren, as well as probably having a few more AA's
