  1. The final from The Pit definitely should be an eye-opner for the Warriors. I do believe Coach A will be sure to tell his boys that this is not the same ole Blackman team that they have played and rolled over in the past. I do believe Coach A will get his boys ready and again the O-Line will take control of this game. Look for a final similar to the one against Antioch. Blackman 13 vs. Riverdale 27
  2. Ill take the home team Cookeville. I hope to see some offense from these Cavaliers. Sparta 16 vs. Cookeville 34 Blowout!
  3. Station Camp looked great last week and I think that they will move up and they will do just fine after the move. Mt. Juliet is another team coming up quick. Maryville is just... is just... WOW. I see Wilson Central and Coach Arik putting together something nice for the Bears. Wilson Central 24 vs. Mt. Juliet 16
  4. No matter who is in the backfield this Riverdale offensive line will block for them. They were knocked around against Oakland a little bit and Oakland seemed much more physical than most would imagine. They came after the big boys up front and were having fun. RHS responds and the offense clicks tonight. Riverdale 31 vs. Antioch 3
  5. All I see is ignorance in this post. All of Siegel's Freshman have come out to be fine high school players. Chuck McCord, Montori Hughes, Staley Haynes, Joe Ward, and Fred Harris were all starters on a very good Freshman team. Sometimes the talent on a Freshman team gets caught up with. Needless to say these played mentioned are still not the problem with the Stars. Have you for one second thought that other Freshman in the region simply outworked this crew listed and now are considered the better 'player'? Now, back to the game. I think that this one will be closer than some people say, but only for the reason that Coach Watson will play possession football against the inferior Glencliff team. I do realize that this will make some fans worrisome and makes some critics get back all over Watson. No matter how ugly the game is, Siegel will come away 1-1 on the season. Siegel 27 vs. Glencliff 13
  6. I don't see the game getting to this point. I do not see either team reaching the totals you have posted, but I might be wrong. Rod and Sonny have got some work cut out for them but it is nothing that they are not ready for. By having those two on the field it opens up so much more for the team as a whole. They begin to get bigger holes up front because the defense is looking pass and then they smash them in the mouth. The linebackers are looking for something short to Rod and let him work his magic, but Sonny can sneak one over them to another talented wideout for a bulk of 15 to 20 yards. Smyrna is a good team. Will they repeat? I doubt it. Smyrna 24 Brentwood 10
  7. Peetie is a fine young man and will be a great college athlete. With that said, will Oakland begin to try and get the ball to Peetie more this week than they did the last? I think he might have had 1 catch for 15 yards and maybe another ball thrown his way but uncatchable. How will Oakland respond to the game with Riverdale? Was playing them close and getting the defense recognized enough to satisfy Oakland or are they foaming at the mouth for another shot at another chance to win? I hope its the second. Oakland 27 vs. Coffee County 6
  8. Siegel beats Hendersonville in 5 innings. Hendersonville 5 Siegel 15 What inning are the Warriors in and what is the score?
  9. I simply said they "should" come up with wins, in no way form or fashion was I counting this as a gimme win. That would be in impossiblity with the Stars. So, I didn't count them as a win. I said should. Thanks.
  10. No. Not at all. If Siegel would listen to your signature then they would be a lot better though. They have the talent and coaching to battle for the number one spot, and here they are getting swept by their cross town rival. They are MUCH better than what has been indicated early. They have always started slow, but they never started slow and had to play district games in the beginning of the season. I think Coach Reavis thought that the slow start was behind them. Clearly, we were both wrong. After I saw the preseason numbers I thought the Stars were ready. They aren't. Hendersonville and White County they should come up with three wins. If they do not, tighten up Siegel... you are in for a long ride.
  11. The game went as I figured. Siegel baseball without any run production yet again in a key district game. Oakland looked lively throughout the game and, heck, even through fungo practice during pregame. The Stars on the other hand fumbled baseballs around the whole friggin' infield during pregame and couldn't get crap together. It showed during the game. Three or four errors a game and no blocked balls will hurt you in the long run you can bet on that. The Patriots pushed their record to (8-0) and the Stars a measly (2-6). The potential is there for the Stars now if only they could learn how to win. Burnett was very impressive throughout and they didn't score off of him. He might have had a couple of hits against him. Barret came in for the second time in the same amount of nights and shut 'em down. Dodd, after his 2 run shot over the lights, came in and gave up the only run of the night. Oakland is a force to be dealt with in the District this year. If they continue to hit and claw and scratch against some other teams, they WILL get that #1 seed. I really hope they can turn it up! PJ Polk is having a slow start, a start that no one expected. His wheels are there and he is flawless in the outfield. It will be a couple of days before he is batting of .400 and going 17 for 17 again.
  12. Rod Wilks - Smyrna If this kid can change his attitude just a hair and carry himself the same way he does on the field he can go big. His attitude and swagger MUST change.
  13. This could depend on whether the gap is filled after the Vanderbilt signee is replaced. Sonny Grey has a lot of interest in baseball right now, could that hold him out of his senior year as a Bulldog on the football field? I wouldn't think so. The Bulldogs could put up a fight for the number 1 spot again this year. They must carry this ring with confidence and take the region first and foremost.
  14. Siegel's lack of interest and more focus on Spring Break got to 'em on this one. The kids from Siegel cared more about how much booty they could get in Destin than settling for their first Ditrict win of the season. Hopefully they can screw it on tight and respond with a couple of wins on there stretch next week. If the Stars can't straight putting some passing and finishing this will end up being a long season for Shelton and the boys.
  15. The Siegel Stars (2-4) hosted the Oakland Patriots (6-0) last night and lost 5-2. The first run was balked in last night by Derek Faust #23 that looked to be like the only run to be scored against the Stars for quite some time. Faust put up a fight for the majority of the game until things began to come unglued for the Stars. The Stars had 3 errors last night and 7 BBs. Parsley opened it up for the Pats after a triple to bring in the speedy Polk. That was all she wrote. The Stars did however make a run and score 2 runs but left the bases loaded. Oakland improved to (7-0) and (1-0) in the district as the Stars dropped their third straight and pushed their record to (2-5) and (0-1) in the district. Stars Pitching: Faust - 5 1/3 IP 5H 5BB 10Ks Watson - 1 2/3 IP 1H 2BB 3Ks Stars Hitting: J. Shaffer - 1/3 2 (1B) 1 RBI D. Pearce - 1/3 1 (1B) M. Dodrill - 1/3 1 (1B) Patriots Pitching: Barnes - 6IP 4H 4BB 6Ks C. Barrett - 1IP 0H 0BB 0Ks Patriots Hitting: Parsley - 1/3 1 (3B) 1 RBI Fann - 1/2 1 (2B) Dodd - 1/2 1 (1B) Polk - 1/3 1 (1B) Tonight the game will be at Oakland at 6:30pm CST. The pitching for both teams is uncertain. Robinson seems to be having fatique problems and Pats second pitcher, Burnett, is held down with Bronchitis. This should be a great game at Oakland.
  16. Siegel High School improved last night to 2-2 after a grusome game against the Irish of Father Ryan. It was a poor performance on both defenses combining for eight errors. Siegel, after a three run inning by FR, responded with 8 runs (4 unearned). Siegel Players Hot: Matt McCloud - The kid continues to get on base and has hit a homerun. He was 1-1 last night with three BB and one HBP. Taylor Barrett - Barrett was 5 for 6 last night and has recorded 6 stolen bases on the season. Nick McCaughley - His speed is really helping the Stars on the bases this season and will continue to find a way on base. Wesley Tobitt - Tobitt hit a three run shot against Shelbyville and has a BA of .444. I would really like to hear some news on the likes of Oakland and Blackman. I see that RHS keeps winning but who is hitting and who isnt? Who is pitching well and who isn't?
  17. Hopefully Robinson's struggles will not continue and he can turn it around for the Stars. Carter Watson, a freshman, is a pretty good pitcher from the Siegel baseball team also.
