Softball season opens up today! How did everyone do??

Very Very Very Respectful post. Thank you Turtle. AE played an amazing game! They were very hot. Unicoi, however, did have the size to compete with AE. Their shots also weren't on. It is however, very hard to get a good shot up when a 6'9 guy is guarding you. Cameron Miller really didn't have a chance shooting with them. I feel like the devils could of made better attemps at rebounding. Much respect goes out to The Blue Devils though they really did have a great season. I hate it is over though. Now for my comment on the student section. They were respectful and supportive. A few things were said at the beginning, during warm-ups and at the start of half-time, but nothing disrespectful. The comments at half-time were agged on by one of the players.No big deal though. A couple of AE players even talked with a couple of UC's students after the game and it went very well. Good Luck at State AE. Freddie Lyle, Drew Rice, Derek Shelton, and JT Canady, you guys will be greatly missed. As will the senior members of the student section: Chase Edwards, Logan Edwards, Johnathon Kenney, Houston Title, Johnathon Sullens, Lucas Woodward, Sable Arrowood, Skyler Barnett, Ali Schwenke, Mason Howell, Ethan Williams, Carrie Frazier, Josh Edwards, Issac Harris and Caleb Bennett.

Britney is just a junior, I don't know about Brooke though.

Unicoi beat Rutledge tonight 74-67. Cameron Miller was on fire tonight. he made four 3 pointers with-in the first minutes of the 1st quarter. He had many more on through the night. Unicoi really looked good tonight, they really played as a team. Both teams made more 3 pointers than I could count though. Rutledge will travel to Knox Fulton to play @ 7:00 Monday. Devils will host Austin East @7:00 at the Devil's Den. GO DEVILS!!!!

My vote is for Unaka as well, and we are thinking about the freshman She is definately a player. I would love to see Unaka and Unicoi both back in Murfeesboro for the first time in a couple of years. Goodluck!

HAHA. I missed the games last night but I heard the Rutledge game was an interesting one. I will def. be there tomorrow though unless it keeps snowing like it is now. GO DEVILS!!!!!!

Predictions for tonights game: Unicoi over Elizabethton by 24 Rutledge over Johnson County by 16

I think it would be great for the pitchers who are really wanting to play in college and have the ability but so many pitchers aren't ready to pitch at 43ft. Many can barely get it to the plate at 40ft moving it to 43ft would be a waste against weak teams.

Well someone has already beat me to the punch. I was just talking how we need a Watagua Conference Forum. Anyways, Unicoi is going to be TOUGH this year. Strong pitching. Strong Strong Pitching and defense is solid in every position. This, I think, will be the year for Unicoi to get back to the State tournament. They did lose 6 starters last year but others have stepped up and filled their shoes with ease. They will skip the Unaka Jamboree and the one at Winged Deer to travel to Nashville to play Beech, GoodPasture, Statoin Camp and Riverdale.....4 of the strongest teams around. They will go to Knoxville the following weekend to play some of the best teams from around that region. Unicoi will definately be ready for Chuckey Doak on the 11th. GO LADY DEVILS!!!

Kayla Banks will be graduating as well.

Let me just sum up exactly what happened with the student section thing. North's student section stood in front of Unicoi's parents and they could not see the game. I mean a bunch of parents too, even elderly men who was on oxygen. This man had to stand up just to see the game! Thats how it all started and when they were asked to move, they were rude, very rude about it. Unicoi's student section however started out standing in front of North's parents but when they were very rudely told to either move or sit down they moved no rude comments were said they just moved. And as for cussing kids out, it never happened. Yes there were cussed words used but no cussing out. Was is really that hard for North's student section to move? They had less than half of the people Unicoi did! The championship night Unicoi had to stand in the upper deck and unless you were on the front row you could only see half of the court but they still stood up there so they wouldn't be in the way of others trying to watch the game. Grow up and Move on! Would you still be complaining if North would of beat Unicoi??? I doubt it. Goodluck to both Lady Devils and Blue Devils Monday and Tuesday! Girls and Boys both play at 6 against Elizabethton at Chuckey Doak Middle School.

Ali Gardner is definatly 1st team material. She has improved greatly from last year and she is still getting better. Next year she will really be someone to watch.

Districts 1AA's #7 team, Elizabethton beat #2 Chuckey Doak. Elizabethton also beat the number #4 team, Sullivan North and placed 3 in the tournament.

Unicoi Fans were very loud last night. Biggest fan section I have seen in a long time! Great Job Blue Devils! Good luck Saturday against Gatlinburg-Pittman

There are coaches and officials from the hosting school that watch the players and keep stats on them then they choose all together and vote.

They also make your feet very sore after wearing them for long periods of time. It does however make softball look tougher and they leave pretty fancy bruises and scrapes, Great for showing off;]]

Don't feel bad Greeneville, Unicoi's softball team wins their conference every year too but no one gives us credit, they just blame the lack of competition in our conference. None of them know though how hard we work or how much time we put into the program. We can't help it if the other teams aren't as good or don't put in as much time into it, that isn't our fault. Winning the Conference is great no matter what other teams are in it. It shows that you worked hard and its a great accomplishment. Congrats!

At least the Lady Devils came to play, can't say as much for the boys though. Ladies weren't even 100% come tournament time when everyone has heeled up they should be very strong.

Congrats to the Lady Devils for thier win tonight. You guys brought tears to my eyes when you presented the Sullivan North girl with the flowers and metal. Payge and Amanda, I will miss watching you girls play. Good luck in all you do. I hope your Charley Horse is better btw Payge.

And the game ball tonight goes to the ref with the feathery hair. Great calling tonight by all 3 refs actually. Not a bad call the whole night! NOT!!!! Congrats to all the senior basketball players, cheerleaders and stat girls. Great comeback tongiht blue.

Might as well of not even had refs at the Unicoi-North game tonight. Ridiculous.
