It's been a long time since I have read, much less commented on anything on coacht. First off, people that have started this thread need to step back from the ledge. We have a great coaching staff at DB and if people truly knew how much time and effort these coaches put into this program they would not say a darn word about any of them. These are high school coaches, not college, not professional- High School. They are not getting paid anywhere close to fair for the amount of time they put in. Secondly, Cathouse- don't even try and compare Greenville to DB

TN High got out coached, out played, and out practiced. There should be no concerns about depth this year, I know it was a 4A team DB faced tonight, but it looks like the cupboards are full on the Indian reservation.

No need for name calling, I was just stating a fact that's all. Usually after the lynn garden summer football league most of those players come and play in the fall at the KBGC. Maybe it would be better if both leagues worked together instead of against each other in order to serve all of the interested local youth that want to play football.

First of all I don't really believe you can say there is a problem with Kpt football when Dobyns Bennett is the winningest high school team in the state of Tennessee, the only probelm is that we are due for a state champioship and it is coming. And point 'B' Lynn Garden is not the only youth football program in Kingsport, they are the only one to play during the summer, which never made a whole lot of since to me because I believe high school football around here is played in the fall. Over 80% of the players on the field for DB this year have come through another youth football program, and one that I personally take some pride in. In fact the "CoachT proclaimed chat room studs" that are on the DB football team Varsity, JV, and Freshmen have all come through another youth football program other than Lynn Garden.

What is considered one of DB's best teams, because I can remember a team that was pretty good and lost in the semifinals to Murfeesboro Oakland who had a number of players play both ways. I would have to consider that team one of the best. Bottom line is the G-man plays the best players on the team and puts them in a position to succeed. And what storm are you talking about that hit Ritz this year? They did not have as much talent as they have in previous years, but I don't see any drop off of talent for the football team any time soon. Let some of these sophomores and juniors mature and we will see what the weather looks like.

This could be the best quote I've seen on here since I have started reading. Right on the money, it is not Upward football. I am all for getting kids into ball games to play when they are 8 and 10 years old in Pee Wee football, but when they are on a high school team they have got to show that they have what it takes to play. This is partly what is the matter with some of the people in our society today. Competition has been taken out of some local sports, so when kids get older they don't know how to work hard to get what they want. They want everything given to them; a job, food, money, rent. Ok my rant is over, the point is that if you want your kid to play in a game tell him to give 200% during practice and do everything the coaches ask and do it better than the other guy period. And if he still doesn't play than you can have something to talk about.

I also thought before this season started that Crawford would be a better fit this year at QB. Easy for me to Monday Morning QB after the season is over.

First home game Thursday night for University High and Coach Penley. I can't wait. I hope the JC Press and WJHL is there for the offensive showing that will be held. By the way, did anyone else see the letters to the editor today in the Kingsport Times about someone disrespecting Veteran's Day? Some people can be so inconciderate.

When is University High's first home game? I want to be there when Coach Penley and the boys make their homestand debut.

Worlhead, I heard they were waiting on your donation to hold an official ribbon cutting ceremony for the new porcelin thrones. From what I hear Sensabaugh is alright. Probably didn't want to risk any further chance of injury with him, and the way Sylvester came in at halftime that was the smart call. DB will catch some teams off guard if they can get past the Wildcats in the first. Roll Tribe.

Coach Penley will bring his experience and expertise from DB to University High and if he can get the kids to buy into his offense than there is no limit to what University High can accomplish this year.

Does anyone remember before the season started about all the trash talking coming out of JC? I can't help but just sit back and laugh. There's only been one or two occassions that I know of for a fact, that Coach Clark has tried to run the score up on teams. In a couple of weeks if it were me, I would make a big time statement to Coach Smith and the SH faithful and hang half a hundred on them. I do feel bad for the Topper kids. I wonder what the parents are saying about Coach Smitty now?

Get over yourself Volman, I was simply referring to the post that maroonandgray had that said it's scary to think of you as a parent. I don't know you from Adam, so I don't know if your a good parent or not. I was just trying to let everyone know how scary it will be next year when the 20 year old freshmen we have playing tailback right now will be playing linebacker hopefully. He's got a nose for the ball and he's a head hunter, which I think is kinda evident in his running style.

Well looks like it hasn't taken long for the Sensabaugh posts to start overflowing the threads; like shrimp on Forrest Gump's and Captain Dan's shrimp boat. Anyway sticking with the theme of the thread, aside from it being scary that VolmanScott is a parent, the really scary thing is that we haven't even see Sensabaugh play his natural position yet. As good as he is at tailback, wait 'til you see him play linebacker next year. The kid is a beast.

It's good to see other people on here that are still sticking up for the program and the coaches. I thought I was the only one.

Didn't say there were no politics at DB I said it is not the political people in the community's fault for not having the talent that DB has had in the past. Trust me I know there are politics at DB as there are at all schools, but the football team is one sport, or atleast speaking from past experience was one sport, that the politics didn't matter as far as who plays and who doesn't. I have not seen the JV team play and do not know how the underclassmen play in games, but I have been to practices during the spring/winter practice and to some of the summer practices and I have not seen many underclassmen that I think could make a difference in a game. One player that has been referred to in this thread can make a difference, and I think he will in due time, but let's not all jump ship because we have lost to 3 very good football teams. Enough Said.

First off let me start by saying this, I have not posted much on here, but the past couple of threads I have been on the other posts have been rediculous. One thing that has ticked me off is how everyone here lately has been praising and bashing players that are on the same team. I have yet to use the kids names that play on the football team in my posts and will refrain myself from doing that. If you people don't think that these kids don't get on the website and read what is posted being posted than that is just assanine. So for everyone that posts on these websites why don't you try not to use kids (yes they are KIDS) names'. Now the other thing that ticks me off worse than any thing is all the talk about Coach Clark. For all you morons out there that think he is the problem you couldn't be more wrong. Overall as far as DB football goes I don't think anyone can deny that the talent pool at this moment is not as good as it has been in the past. This is not the kids fault, not the coaches fault, not the QB Club's fault, not the political people in the community's fault either. Any public high school program goes through this in all sports, and before anybody replies "Yes I am still waiting on Maryville's dry spell to happen". All the coaches at DB right now are there for a reason, because they are the best there is to offer in this area. Regardless of posters opinions I have heard it and seen it written a number of times that DB's football coaching staff is the best staff bar none in TN. Having played for the coaching staff (even though it is the only high school coaching staff I ever played for) I would have to agree. Coach Clark and all the other coaches put the kids out there that put the team in the best possible opportunity to win, WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT. If they are no changes being made than it is for a reason. And as for play calling, that is what it is... PLAY CALLING. Not PLAYING. The coaches cannot go out and play the ball game for the kids, sometimes the plays are not executed the way they are supposed to be. The point I would like everyone to take from this post is "Let's stop bashing the players, coaches, and the program and get behind them".

If he/she/it wants to keep throwing money toward the program, than I have no problem with it. On the other hand I think the locker room is definitely off limits to R.R. Wonder which bathroom he/she/it uses?
