  2. HOGEYE, GOT TO LOVE THAT. GREAT COMMUNITY SPIRIT TOO! WHAT A SCHEDULE? SMITH CO. AND TROUSDALE CO. RIGHT OUT OF THE CHUTE. THEN A REGION SCHEDULE THAT INCLUDES AE,FULTON AND CATHOLIC. BRAVE, HEARTY PLAYERS AT LA. COULD BE 5-5, FINISH 4TH THEN GO DEEP IN THE PLAYOFFS. WISHING THE HOGEYES THE BEST OF LUCK IN 2007.
  3. The truth and reality is that McMinn Central is improved in all phases of the game. But improvement does not mean more wins. The Chargers still face an uphill stuggle to win against quality teams. In order to prove themselves, they will have to beat the region favorites ND, Howard, Polk and Meigs. I am sure that Coach Davies and Coach Martin are not taking the Chargers as an automatic W. Yeehaw, let's let the season begin and we will see how it unfolds. But enjoy the season watching the Red and Blue.
  4. Somebody tell me I am wrong. Is this the same John Allen that left LFO high and dry in terms of talent and won only a few at Bradley County? Then left Bradley County worse than he found it. He is not a great coach in any terms. Silverdale will not beat South Pittsburg. Doubtful against Lookout Valley. The rest of that region is not very good. Play-Offs are 1st round on the road at Gordonsville.
  5. Known Coach Staff a long time. He has done a great job a Sweetwater. The Cats have plenty of skilled players lead by Latham at runningback. They are quick to the ball in their attacking style defense. Most likely will finish No. 2 behind the Alcoa powerhouse. You never know how teams will be playing at the end of the season. They will have a chance if the F1 Tornadoes show up. Ask the Loudon Redskins about playing the Cats late. Gook Luck to Sweetwater.
  6. Mike Hammons Punter Polk County 08 Ryan Slack Running Back McMinn Central 08
  7. Seems like the Irish are everyone's top pick. Great coaching and good kids. Better get some wins this year before they move to 4A next year. Howard should finish 2nd if they can play well on the road. Look for the young and talented Chargers to get the 3rd spot over Polk and Meigs. Tellico, Seq, ER and Grundy will finish in bottom of improved region.
  8. I was at the game also. The throw was up the third base line away from home plate. The catcher left the plate area to field the thrown ball. If a throw takes the fielder into the base runner's path, the umpire may rule the contact unavoidable. The player from Central attempted to avoid the contact. Coleman did not lower his hands in a blocking motion. I will agree the umpire crew did not help its case with the delay in the final decision. But before you say the umpire choked, how many errors did Polk make in previous inning when Central blew the game open. The umpire did not decide the game, the players did. I was at the game also. 9. Put the blame where the fault lies. The PF coach violated well stated pitching rules. If it was intentional, shame on him. If he made a mistake, lesson learned. I feel sorry for his kids. The pitcher in question did not have to pitch that many innings for PF to beat an inferior Rutledge team.
  10. Good young team returning almost all the starters from last year's team. Will be tested early in season opener with the Loudon Redskins. Several baseball players are returning to football. Skilled positions will be deep with the addition of the baseball players. Team must be ready to play every week. Chargers need to take it one game at a time. Just do not need to worry about Howard at this point. Everyone can evaluate the Chargers when they battle the Cherokees in the spring game. This should be a lively contest.
  11. What is up in Madisonville? I read today in a local newsletter that the new head coach and the school's principal do not agree on the discipline of the students at Sequoyah High School. Sequoyah will never be able to compete with Sweetwarter on a consistent basis.
  12. If Coach Cagle is such a Mullinax disciple, he should already be on the staff at McMinn. I think he is the Grubb's and Haney's choice but what about Tracy Malone? Experienced and Proven Winner.
  13. No question that the boys in blue will be better in 07. Played Meigs and Polk close in 06. Meigs on great streak against Central. Good coaching and players that believe in their system. Can not underestimate whoever replaces Roberts at QB but do you really replace the Mobrient kid at middle line-backer. Needs to be a packed house in Decatur. Should be areas TV game of the week.
  14. Get your ticket and bring a lawn chair. Maybe not the best district in the state but tournament will be exciting for fans to watch. Meigs has best one-two pitchers but suspect bats in bottom of order. Polk has best pitching available after one and two, relies on emotions to carry them. Chargers are in trouble after Shaw and Aderhold are done in the rotation. Boyd Buc is a long shot. My prediction Polk wins it! Chargers on the road for region game. See ya at the game. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  15. I hope that the Cherokees are not going to wait too long in selecting a new coach. Have good young staff to work with in Massingale and Goodin. Might be long year for Tribe if hire is made after June 1. Hard enough to compete in that region if team changes offensive or defensive schemes in less than 3 months. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  16. Good luck to the Pounders. Hope the re-zoning in Chattanooga helps even things out in Harrison. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  17. Chargers are still young but a year older. Most of team sophomores and juniors. Adding some skill-type players off baseball team. Bigger, stronger and faster than last year. Proved they can score last year. Very weak defensively--Needs improvement if going to compete in region that is on the rise.
