  1. Yes, they played last year. Skelton was the primary post player last season for Houston County. Both boys have been playing AAU and I think Roper has been going to a private trainer too.
  2. Yes everyone should be returning, Cooksey didn't get to go to camp as part of punishment, no one can really say if Skelton will step up big or not I would think that would be up to him if he wants to make the commitment, they still have Monroe and Roper to play post also, I believe Coach Cox was the assistnant coach at Fulton.
  3. Great Post Greatergood!!! My question for the top two is this... say the roles were reversed and it was one of your children that this had happened to, what would you have done? You would have expected the school system to have handled it properly and when they didn't you would have been forced to do the exact same thing. Any parent faced with the same situation would. This has been going on for way too long and it is time for you to admit the system failed in this situation, get over it, and move on. Now my next question is this........If you decide to give the job to another Coach besides Coach Moore how do you think it is going to go over with the team when they have been so openly about who they want as their coach and would you want to be a new coach coming into a new school knowing that your team wanted someone else? To me that sounds like a huge problem that could be avoided.
  4. You need to proof read your posts before you hit add reply. You had some help with the demise of my memory. LOL /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  5. Is he a coach that will play his best players no matter what outside influences say, won't play favorites and treat everyone the same/fairly? Coach to win and even when behind will still coach to the end of the game and not just give up and stop coaching. Also when a player gets in trouble at school will they face repercussions from the coach because they are a member of the team and a representative of the school? This is the kind of coach that I want for our boys no matter if it's Moore, Trotter or whomever the third candidate was. I think if they do the things I've mentioned then we shouldn't have anything to complain about.
  6. Grape Vine tells me that three potential candidates were interviewed for the head coaching position yesterday. Scott Moore, Trotter from Summertown, and I can't remember the third I think they said he was from South Fulton area but you know my memory isn't what it used to be, me being a mom with teenagers will do that for ya. LOL I also know the basketball team has asked for a meeting with Ms. Harvey (Director of Schools) and Ms. Jolly (principle). I'm very anxious to see how things turn out. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  7. Yes, they are still at Central. But Montogmery Central is not in Houston County's District easy fix would be to just take them off the schedule.
  8. Our boys would love for Scott Moore to be their coach. Several of them play for him during the Summer on an AAU team. These boys play so hard for him, more than any other coach I have seen them play for. They have such a great deal of respect for him. He can bring out the talent of any kid and get him to excute in ways you wouldn't believe. If Houston County Administration would for once listen to the players, students, parents and community they should put the politics aside and give the job to Scott Moore!!!!!!! Or they could look at like this, the more games you win the more the community comes out to watch them play which in turn means the more $$$$ you make at the gate and the more $$$ you make in the concessions. But what do I know I'm just a mom. LOL
  9. Houston County's Shannel Nolan to Cumberland University and Emily Roper to Bethel.
  10. Isn't Dixie Youth played mostly in the Summer after the High School Season? Wouldn't that make it just like any other travel team as long as she doesn't play in any games with them until her High School season is over?
  11. This is great info. But District 10-A is the boys baseball schedule. Softball is in McEwen.
  12. Houston County beat East Robertson last night 10-3.

    Commando Classic

Does anyone know if the tournament is still on or if it has been canceled? We play tonight at 6:30 but will have to leave home by 3:00 in order to be on time. Didn't want to cancel my hotel room unless it was canceled because we have the 8:00 game on Sat.
  14. Yes, she used it all summer too. She paid for it herself and takes extra care of it. LOL Still hits good too she said she hit one out Thurs. at practice. Maybe we can get through the season without having to buy another bat.
  15. My daughter got her Rocket Tech District Tourn. last season, she loves it.
