  1. well columbia has played a team coached by don thomas the passed 3 years...and have yet to score a touchdown on them...so look for the MC defense to be VERY solid this week...if you can stop Belu or however you spell his name, then you have a really good shot of shutting this team down
  2. this one was a nail biter til the end with MC winning the game with 9 seconds to go on a extra-point-ranged field goal by 1st year kicker Sam Estes
  3. Marshall Co. did have a helmet with a tiger paw...they handed them down to the middle school after they got the Memphis helmets...me and my brother both played in the tiger paw helmets
  4. MCHS Varsity - 7 BGA Varsity - 0 MCHS Junior Varsity - 7 BGA Junior Varsity - 7 MC's offense stalled at 1st but after a defensive stop by MC they manage to put together a pretty long drive that ended with a scoring run by Justin Braden from 2 yards out. Morris had a good day completing the majority of his passes, and even converting a few 3rd downs and a 4th down. The D started off strong and finished strong. Murphy had a number of tackles mostly behind the line of scrimmage. Cottle had a good showing with a couple of tackles and a sack. Evans, who is playing middle linebacker rather than defensive end like last year, had a good showing with multiple tackles and a sack as well. Overall defense looks like it's goin to continue where it left off last year. MC looks to be on course for a good season this year.
  5. Not so fast there...i do believe we have that same individual talent like we did last year in Braden, Morris, Peterson, Tedijewski...and to throw somemore names in we have Broderick Tears at wide reciever and big Michael Murphy at DT and Eric "Carlitto" Cottle at DE....other returning starters would be Tyler Clift at DE, Cameron Evans at LB, and Jordan Turner Major Tripp Matt Briggs Zach Amis and Tay Wilson on the OL.
  6. i can tell you what happend against Giles at LaVergne bc i was on the field playing them...and im not making excuses on this! 1. Giles isn't exactly a bad team so im not goin to say that they are. 2. There was a 2 hour break from the time of our last game in pool play til the time we played Giles and my teammates agree that that probably didnt help us a bit bc Giles got to play against MTCS b4 playin us so they were warmed up and everything. 3. We just simply didnt play our game. Like i said, i'm not making excuses, i'm just stating what i believe are the facts.
  7. Just got back from Hazel Green, Alabama. Marshall Co., Giles Co., Lincoln Co., and Hazel Green competed in 7 on 7 and lineman competion. Marshall posted a 2-1 in 7 on 7 beating Hazel Green 14-7 and Giles County 21-14...but got beat by Lincoln and i dont know the score...didnt get to see the linemen but heard MC did a very good job
  8. i'm speaking for Marshall County on this...we had a very good showing there posting a 5-1 record with wins against Lincoln County, Battle Ground Academy, Middle Tennessee Christian, LaVergne, and Stratford in "pool" play to put us at the 1st seed in our bracket, but a 12-11 last second loss to rival Giles County put us out of the tournament
  9. i've been on the team for 4 years now and am fixing to be a senior...i didnt get a chance to play when we had the memphis uniforms but i did get to watch my older brother play in them and i have to say they were the best uniforms we've had since i've been here...when coach Johnson got here the uniforms themselves were HORRIBLE, bc 1. they were cut-off-the-circulation-to-your-arms tight. and 2. the socks were embarrassing to say the least however i did like the helmet logo that we took from the USC Trojans lol...i like the uniforms we have this year i just wish they'd put a logo of some sort on the helmets
  10. Dont count on it...plan on seeing the Penn State looking uniforms and helmets from last year
  11. yea i was talkin about Marshall County, sorry for the confusion
  12. AMEN!!! look for the MC Tigers in '09
  13. We will have a scrimmage on Thursday, May 15th against Franklin County in Winchester at 5 p.m.
  14. if i've got the story right...David Rohan played for Oakland as a freshman then transfered to Marshall County and played his sophomore year as a Tiger...he decided not to play as a junior but came back out this year as a senior...so he will be a great asset to our defense
  15. I'm just goin to add on to who i think is one of my teammate's quotes....we look forward to having a very high powered and more coordinated offense this year. We return a very good QB in Jake Morris and probably the best RB in the region in Justin Braden. Our offensive line will also be much improved. David Tedijewski and Broderick Tears will edge out the recieving corp. Our defense will again be very tough to move against with Tyler Clift at defensive end and Michael Murphy and Eric Cottle at defensive tackles and Cameron Evans playing either the other defensive end or one of the linebackers. David Tedijewski and Kareem Peterson will take care of the secondary
  16. ok...here are some details for the lift-a-thon...we had 8 Super Tigers: Michael Murphy, Eric Cottle, Cameron Evans, Jake Morris, Tyler Clift, Justin Braden, and Kareem Peterson....4 Iron Tigers: Cody Henson, Cody Tucker, Major Tripp, and Matt Briggs....and i dont have a list of players that got Tiger.
  17. Well here's an update for yall....we had our annual Lift-a-Thon yesterday and it was a very stong showing from the Tigers...we had several players step up and get Tiger, Iron Tiger, and Super Tiger (Super Tiger being the highest). I'll try to have more details later.
  18. If Lipscomb loses a region game...i think either Marshall County or Giles County have the better chances to beat them...obviously Giles is showing very good off season performances at their lifting meet and the combine...Marshall County on the other hand has remained fairly quiet this off season but with 2nd year coach Don Thomas and a very good returning lineup on offense and defense, they might also make a run at DL and the region title...i would look for Page and Cheatem to have a much better year than last year...Montgomery and Spring Hill i believe will have a down year...as for Creekwood I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THEY SIT
  19. the offense returns quite a few recievers in Tedijewski, Tears, and Johnson who all had fairly productive years...our defense returns a monster at defensive tackle in Micheal Murphy, and some other good defenders in Peterson, Evans, and Tedijewski with Justin Braden more than likely adding on to the secondary.
  20. Tedijewski (#7) is a Sophomore and Peterson (#10) is a junior...the freshmen you are thinking about are Broderick Tears (#23) and Kedren Johnson (#11) but yes they were freshmen and yes they can play ball...and Johnson is the one thats really good at basketball
  21. well the Tigerettes took this one from the start gettin out to a big lead and never letting go...final score was something like 75-49 or something like that...well good game to both teams and best of luck to the Marshall County Tigerettes in the State Tounament
  22. I'm a BIG TIME Marshall County fan and I'd like to know how you guys think the Tigers will hold out this year despite losing some serious seniors in Dont'e Hightower, Joe Gentry, Steven Evans, and the rest of the '08 class?
  23. Marshall County returns many starters to the 2008 squad...on offense we'll have our QB Jake Morris, RB Justin Braden, WR's Kedren Johnson, David Tedijewski, and Brodrick Tears, O-Linemen Matt Briggs, Major Tripp, Jordan Turner, and Zach Amis....on Defense we'll have our D-Lineman Micheal Murphy and Tyler Cliff who showed up later in the season at DE to replace the injured Deshaun Greer, LB Cameron Evans, DB's Kareem Peterson as well as David Tedijewski
