  1. DB 1 SCIENCE HILL 0 DB 5 SOUTH DOYLE 0
  2. Farragut looked mid season form in Thurs. Scrimmage, 5-1, DB has some sorting out to do on defensive end... Well managed pre-season game, by bothsides, would love a rematch in post-season.
  3. Thats a tough call, this district has a lot of quality teams,,, I wouldn't know where to start guessing,,, I would like to hear someone a little closer to that action tell us their veiw,,,, East Tennessee is listening.

    Try outs

Geno makes any team he's played on better. Right now, I think the timing still not quite there, but they just started and been on the full size feild about twice. Geno's got tons of speed and skill, but isn't as effective dibbling as he is off the first step. He's certainly in shape and ready to attack any defense. ETSU was lucky to get him.....

    Try outs

I don't know who this transfer from DB was but he's yanking your chain. A 2 mile in 12 min. was required, along with multiple timed sprints & agility drills. Appx. 45 kids have entered into the Try outs and coach Woods has a difficult task sorting out the JV and Varsity. The underclassmen are the best crop of young players I've seen and appears several may make varsity. The schools indoor facilty is a great advantage during the bad weather. Its not full field but it allows for smallsided drills and conditioning even when theres rain and snow. Can't wait to hit the pitch. ROLL TRIBE!!!
  6. May I suggest that Dobyns-Bennett should be ranked before Sullivan South or Science Hill. Coach Woods will field a disciplined, experienced team that has a lot to prove after 2 years of post season disapointments. I believe they will be Dist 1 and Region 1 Champs. They will have a strong attack, led by David Geno, however defense will need to be tested.
  7. Seymore looks to be the spoiler in this grouping. Just remember, "Good things happen when you put in the box."
  8. I agree with eastknox to some degree, however DB did dominate the AA Elizabethton team who rarely got a sniff of a shot on goal. Did have 1 good opportunity and took advantage. DB could have pushed another player or two forward against the numbers on defense if necessary but wasn't needed. Cyclones did exactly what they intended and kept it close. When you get to Knoxville however, you see a higher level of skill, speed and a greater variety of tactics, not seen in high school play in Upper E. TN. Those players playing club ball, get some exposure to the higher level of play, but many rarely see the kind of attack and swarming defense that more Knoxville teams are displaying and those less experienced players can be somewhat surprised and easily frustrated. Last nights game at Bearden was a perfect example and I'm glad that Coach Calvert allowed his bench to play the second half after the outcome was determined in the first half. DB will half to take a more defensive posture if they return to Knoxville in tournament play and make sure they keep things close. Bearden's Midfield controlled play throughout the game. Soccer at all the Knoxville schools is getting better and I think the trend will continue and DB and Science Hill will be the only teams in upper E. Tn to consistantly compete.(Bulldogs cooking with gas in the game Wed.Night, if the play that way, they can take it all).
  9. Hats off to the Bulldogs. They hit the field running and never looked back. Caught DB on their heels. Their offensive attack was best executed I've seen all year, and defense was always well organized. DB will learn from this game and have a chance focus on tourament play(Glad to see everone making trip for DB get a chance to experience the speed of Bearden's play) . Bulldogs appear ready for a run again,Goodluck!.
  10. This should be a great game. Only common opponent is Science Hill. Bearden winners 3-1, DB winners 6-3. Science Hill had lost some good players before playing DB. Bearden has a great program and home field. Best test for DB since the Palmetto Cup. Hate to say it but DB will probably loose its first of the year 2-1 after a tough, physically played game with Greeneville tonite. Hope I'm wrong. Roll Tribe!!!!!
  11. Congrats to DB, 12-0-3 is an outstanding run. Appears that the bench has been deeper than anyone thought at start of the season. This team plays with a lot of heart and finds ways to win. Hats off to Coach Calvert and his players. Also the Jon Metcalf Invitational was very well run and participating teams praised the fields at Eastman Park at Horse Creek. Good Luck to the TRIBE in post season play. ROLL TRIBE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. DB's has 13 shut outs, Defense plays strong. 3 of those were Morristown West, Cookville and Blackman.
