  1. No doubt about that turnin two. I wonder if the TSSAA board meetings are open to the public? If so the current players and parents of Tennessee High School sports need to be in attendance.
  2. Yea. No need to break the rules. Just change them. This guy obviously has another chance to be seen by some college guys and some pro scouts and the TSSAA is trying to keep him from it. The United Nations...oops...the TSSAA is a worthless body. They flat out are not looking out for the players of any Tennessee high school sports.
  3. I'm know the rule is there. I am wanting somebody from the TSSAA to get on here and explain why the rule is there. What is the point of it? It's the offseason so why do they care how many players from one high school can play on a team and why are they keeping this Sonny Gray kid from playing in this All-Star game? It's flat out stupid!!!!!
  4. I challenge someone from the TSSAA to get on here and explain why you care who plays where, when, and what for. The kids are at the age they are trying to develop their strengths and skills and you are holding them back. One of the best ways for a player to get better is to play against the best players in the country. He will find out real quick where he stands and what he needs to work on. This in turn makes him a better player and gives him a better chance at getting some or all of his college tuition paid for. WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM WITH A KID PLAYING IN SOME ALL-STAR GAME? ANSWER THAT TSSAA!!!!! YOU OBVIOUSLY KNOW NOTHING. SO AGAIN, I CHALLENGE YOU TO GET ON HERE AND EXPLAIN YOUR IGNORANT RULES AND REGULATIONS!!!!! WHO CARES HOW MANY PLAYERS FROM ONE TEAM PLAY TOGETHER ON A TEAM IN A FALL LEAGUE. THEY PLAY TOGETHER IN THE SUMMER SO WHAT DOES IT MATTER? EXPLAIN THAT!!! YOUR ORGANIZATION (TSSAA) MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE!!!!!
  5. What about the NO Explode? I am out of athletics but I am taking the NO Explode. What have you heard about it? I'm not disputing your post just wondering if it is that bad for you.
  6. Yea I'm not real sure why ronnie and the gang are trying to monitor the fall league's. If somebody from the TSSAA is reading this then please get on here and tell us all why you are doing what you are doing. What is your concern about so many members from one team playing together in the fall. Your not the NCAA. You should not be limiting these players and teams from playing together. That is what high school ball is all about. I can understand when you get to college ball the NCAA limiting the time a team can spend together. High School kids need to play and develop and have a shot at playing college ball. You don't care about players playing and trying to get better. What is your purpose for limiting time for high school teams? Somebody from the TSSAA please answer this. You don't care how many players play together in the summer so what is the difference? The TSSAA makes no sense. They never have. They are kind of like the United Nations. Worthless.
  7. May God bless Jordan and his family, friends, teammates. Although I do not know Jordan or his family it is a wonderful feeling to see people actually come together in this crazy world. God bless you Jordan and family from Lexington.
  8. Your exactly right. Slim you will get noticed at 85 from the right side. If every righty had Greg Maddox movement then they wouldn't have to worry about it. That is sick how he gets his balls to move.
  9. I guess I'm amazed at the number of people that still think velocity is what gets people out. What do players play the game for? And I'm not trying to undermind the posters on here that talk about velocity. We are all trying to get to college ball and a few of us will get drafted. Who cares if you can throw 90+ in high school. 90+ in college and pro ball is the same as a 80-85 fastball in high school. The question should be who spots the ball the best in high school because if you can't spot then your going to get drilled. Who can throw a change up in a 3-1 count? Who are the actual pitchers and then who are just throwers? I'm no professional but I did play college ball. I don't say that to say that I am better than anybody because I am not. I was just an average high school player and an average college ball player so this post is just what I think about this topic.
  10. Yea, charging everybody is the easiest way and no, it's not the best way by no means. Your right about that coacht. But I would assume that most people working the gate can tell the differences in the age of kids. But don't let the TSSAA fool you. They are not out for the good of the student-athletes. Nor is the NCAA. They are after power and control and they do a dang good job of it.
  11. Yea the tie goes to the runner thing doesn't make a lot of sense to me. He is either safe or out. The rules of the game are bullcrap. I say we should be able to close line each other running down the baseline. Kind of like arena football. That would be a lot of fun. There are so many rules the umpires can't possibly know and remeber every little technical detail so it really doesn't matter.
  12. You call Rich a stud pitcher? WOW. Yea he did alright through the regular season but you saw what happened when he got to the big stage in Murfreesoboro. Lexington out did their selves this year but they did show a lot of guts in the postseason so they should be pretty good again.
  13. Hitter...your son's hopefully former coach is an idiot. Print this out and give this to him. Also, tell him to get on Coach T and register for an account so I can talk to this Daddyball guy. He has obviously been drinking to much Busch League Beer. Please get him on here just for me.
  14. You are correct. Dyer is a good coach. I've been around him for years and he will be the first to tell you that all he can do is make suggestions and put his players in a position to be successful. The players are the ones that determine the outcome of the game. He takes no credit for his teams success. Terry Odle has done an outstanding job in his first year back with Lexington. I actually thought that they would not be very successful this year but I was wrong. Don't know what is coming down the pipe for the future but it looks like Odle can get his players to play so maybe they will be alright. Good job to both coaches.
  15. Well if he is not getting a day of rest after pitching 50-60 pitches then you need to mention it to the coaches that his arm needs to rest. When I mentioned getting him on a different team, I didn't mean quit right now. I meant after this year is over, find him another team with more knowledgable coaches. Summer ball has gotten watered down with daddy ball bullcrap and it has become a social status for some of these teams and daddy coaches to say they coach a summer "travel team." Be careful when finding a team because most of them are busch league coaches. They don't teach the fundamentals of the game which is what should be going on at that age. At 11 years old it's not about winning. It's about teaching them the fundamentals of the game.
  16. At his age, throwing 50-60 pitches during a game and then catching the next game probably won't bother him much. I would assume that they get a day off from throwing after he does that doesn't he? Besides when he is catching he is not putting a lot on the ball when he is throwing it back to the pitcher so he is probably ok. Just be careful and watch him closely. If he is tender then he needs to tell somebody that his arm is tender. Your his dad. You watch the situation and just know that curveballs are not good for his arm at this age.
  17. I can read. I just read it the wrong way. My bad.
  18. The reason the curveball is effective now is because 11 year old hitters have no discipline when it comes to hitting. Save your son the pain and agony of arm trouble on down the road. If they don't let him pitch him then who cares. And I might be looking for another team to put my son on due to the fact that his coaches obviously have no background in this game if they are asking your son to throw so many curveballs at such a young age.
  19. Don't start popin off with the mouth choctaw. I didn't say it wasn't a good pitch to throw. I said it wasn't needed as much as people are throwing it. Curveballs in high school are more successful due to hitters not being as disciplined as college hitters. Curveballs at the college level get hit a heck of a lot harder. Now in saying that, there are some guys who throw outstanding curveballs that are hard to hit. Most pitchers don't throw that OUTSTANDING curveball.
  20. Fastball and Changeup are the most effective two pitches in the game. The best pitcher I hit against in college was a fastball/changeup guy with a 93mph fastball and 82-84mph changeup. You didn't know what was coming due to both pitches coming out of his hand the same. If you can't win with those two pitches then you don't need to be a pitcher. A curveball is a pitch IN MY OPINION that only needs to be thrown just to show the hitters you have one. No need to make a living off of it.

I hope Lexington and USJ make it back. Lexington out did themselves this year anyway but they did learn how to win this year and should be able to make it back next year. USJ is losing Liles but they are not losing any pitchers. Both should be there again next year.
  22. Sludge...I wish you here so we could go to the game and watch Dyer and his troops march on. Your comments are correct. If there are parents out there dogging out a player during the game then the player ought to turn around and tell you to go to &%$#. Parents keep your mouth shut except to encourage your childs team. You look idiots when you talk down to a high school kid. I wish I was the one you were talking to because that would be the last time you spoke to high school player like that. I promise that!!! That is so stupid.
  23. That has got to be the most stupid comment I have ever read. Of curse Goodpasture has talent or they wouldn't be in the title game. Of curse USJ is beatable, hence the six losses but I think Goodpasture has 5 losses don't they? You have two great teams in the title game and there can only be one winner so I would say that both teams are beatable. I don't know how much baseball you have been around...obviously not much with a comment like that but either team can win this game today. They both are that good. Everybody thought USJ would not beat Gibbs twice and you witnessed how resilient they are yesterday. Please don't make comments like that anymore.
  24. I'm like a media reporter. I say stuff just to get people talking. I meant no harm with anything I said. It sounds like Gibbs is in trouble already.
  25. JPeterman...I didn't know who was throwing this morning. I was just kidding. I did talk to Brad but I didn't ask who he was throwing. I'm sorry you feel left out of the loop and that you are mad at me for not letting the whole state know who was throwing this afternoon. But you are right, you go back to your best when your back is against the wall. My guess is that USJ will win two games this afternoon as their momentum with their bats will continue this afternoon. Hopefully. And yes Talley has been warming up and will pitch for the Bruins this afternoon. haha
