  1. Also Patrick Sutton, 77 tackles 25 tackles for loss, and one sack.
  2. Patrick Miller from Sevier Co.. 10 games, 35 receptions,890 yards, 25.4 yd avg, longest reception 80yds, 8 TD. And on the defensive side of the ball 42 total tackles,5 ints ( on for a touch down). Patrick is a great player and a big playmaker for the Smoky Bears. He was about 20 yards short of the Region 1 5a reception yards record.
  3. Can't forget about those karns beavers. If they can beat Jeff Co, who has a strong run option offense, they can beat Campbell Co, who also has a strong run option offense. Go Beavers!
  4. Overton lost his spot last week to Sr. Chris jensen.
  5. The bears have played very well the past two games, and look good going into this one. This is my sons last time playing in Burchfield Stadium and im very proud of him and the other seniors. I remember alot of the boys playing with or against eachother through pee wees and middle school and im glad they've all stuck together through high school. If the bears play like they have the past two games they have a very good chance of getting a win and going into the playoffs. I'll give my prediction later in the week.
  6. Yeah thats why 56 didnt make a tackle till 58 was taken out of the game.
  7. Great win for the bears! Just for yalls information, Science Hill beat Campbell Co. tonight which means when the bears beat Bearden they are in the playoffs. Bears played a complete game tonight. THey played for four quarters on both sides of the ball and had zero penalties. Offensive line completely whipped Jef Countys front 5 and tyler and trey made some great cuts for alot of yards. Miller showed how good of an athlete he really is with a pick for 6 and a reception for 6, and u cant forget dakota cogdills big hit on the interception return. Defense proved they could stop a good running game with forcing 2 turnovers for points and holding them to just a field goal. Bears also kept their composure throughout the game, unlike the opposing team. What was with jef countys 56? He shouldve been flagged for personal fouls about 4 times. I think he was just mad because he didnt make a tackle the entire night so he decided to tackle SCs center, steven michaluk, since steven whipped him all night. Coaching was also a big factor for the bears with great preparation by coach ratledge to get ready for a good run offense, and also by coach lingo and brewer by throwin a couple new things at the patriots and gettin the ball to the playmakers. Well it was an all around great effort by the bears and i wish them luck for next week against a good Bearden team.
  8. Bears have two games left, if they play like they did last night they got a real chance at winning both. I know the bears can do it, they won four lost four, now lets win four more.
  9. After the SH game i think the bears are going to be hungry, so lets here it.
  10. Rumor has it that some college scouts were at the SCHS-Knox West game looking at Patrick Miller. I'll try to listen for more rumors this week.
  11. What's up Hilltopper fans? We're looking forward to the game Friday. So far the Bears have exceeded expectations this year with a 4-0 record! But the Bears have to come out to play and play well Friday to get a win against Science Hill. Although the defense let Knox West score on their first two series, the defense will get a real tune up this week. The defense is anchored by Patrick Sutton #63 who is the leading tacker and division I material. The Bears have some very talented linebackers in Andrew Feezel, and a sophmore Dakota Cogdill who has really shined so far this year. Caleb Yates who caught a touchdown pass last week and Logan Willis all had a good game against Knox West. The offensive line, anchored by center Steven Michaluk, is strong with 3 seniors Chris Jensen, Corey Mitchell and Michaluk and 2 juniors, Bryson Maples and Ross Heatherly. Ross Heatherly is a beast and sometimes plays both ways. Zach Flynn is an amazing passing quarterback. He has a variety of receivers, but his favorite has to be Patrick Miller #11, a big play maker. Running back Tyler Thomas (2 rushing TDs last week) and Dakota Codgill round out the back field. So what's do the Hilltoper's have this year? Predicting a close game with a Sevier County win.
  12. It's my understanding that Charlie Fields is out for the season with a back injury. Alex Pate is definately off the team. Losing Charlie hurts the team because he was a playmaker. Pate had a major attitude problem, it is a shame that he got himself tossed off the team. SC will be gunning for Halls. I predict SC over Halls by 10.
  13. i guess everyone has had their answers now. SC beat the GOVS 17-9. Some incorrect information was posted on this thread. Alex Pate is no longer with the team. Charlie Fields has a serious back injury and may be out for the season. That is truly a disaapointment for Charlie and the Bears. Patrick Sutton is a force to be reckoned with but he leads the defense. Steven Michaluk is the O-line leader. The Bears played prettty well and capitalized on turnovers. I believe the teams were well matched. We'll see what next week brings.
  14. I think this one will be close and the one who makes the fewest mistakes will claim victory. SC, plagued by penalties in past games, really improved this past week. SC has turned around and are playing much better football. They have their confidence back and would like to avenge the loss of last year. Plus DB will be on SC's turf this year. It's too close to call but I'm rooting for the Bears. Who are the players to watch for DB?
  15. The Bears have some new coaches, but no McCoy. Coach Huffaker is new, he'll coach the cornerbacks. Coach Young is new, he'll coach the linebackers. Young came to the Bears fas a graduate from Ohio State. Coach Bill Galloway is the lineman coach and he's a tough cookie! But devoted to his lineman. Steve Brewer remains the head coach and is one of the best.
  16. Josh Carr played peewee football in Sevierville and played on the freshman team at the high school. He dropped out of football for a couple of years and has rejoined the team as a senior. When Josh hits you, you know it! He'll be a real asset to the team this year. He's a nice guy too, but takes hitting seriously. Alex Pate is definitely around. He is a sophomore this year, but will start as defensive end and co-start as tight-end. The Pate boys are a Sevier County family who have contributed a lot to Bear football over the years.
  17. Never count the Bears out until the fat lady sings. The biggest challenge will be avoiding beating ourselves. Mental and emotional focus will be the key to success or the cause of failure. The offensive line is strong with Will Hewitt (being recruiting by most Divison I SEC schools). Will goes 110% all the time. The key word for defense is quickness. The entire defense is fast. Josh Carr, Patrick Sutton, Alex Pate are on the defense line. Josh Carr is a player to watch. He is a hard hitter. Daniel Cotter is back for his senior year and is faster than ever. Andrew Feezel (older brother James is a freshman at Austin Peay) will play a key role as linebacker and int he backfield. He has a younger brother, Josh Johnson, who is a freshman who is equally as fast. The offensive line is strong with Hewitt, Patrick Sutton and center Michaluk. Quarterback Taylor Helton is a scrambler and can book it down the field with the ball. Tyler Thomas, Shawn Hodge, and Feezel will make a strong backfield. Got two new coaches, Coach Huffacker who hold the interception record at Cumberland (? I think) and Coach Young who played for Ohio State. Steve Brewer remains the head coach and is one of the best. We open with William Blount at home. Home field advantage will hopefully give the Bears an edge over William Blount. We also play Dobyns Bennett at home. We also have a good freshman team. As a middle school last year they went undefected.
  18. Don't count Sevier County out so soon! We have a very tough defense. Josh Carr is a really hard hitter and will make some big plays on defense. The linebackers are also tough. I think the defense will continue its record of holding other teams to minimal scores. Yep, we mourn the loss of Corey Watson, (who is playing for Tenn Tech) this year. The skill of our backs and receivers will carry us through though. Receiver Cotter, backs Tyler Thomas, Andrew Feezel and Shawn Hodge are looking great. Our offensive line anchored by huge and strong Will Hewitt will open lots of holes for the backs. Juniors Steven Michaluk and Patrick Sutton, Honorable Mention All-Conference for 2006 are both back and stronger than ever. As center, Steven seldom mishandles the balls. We have a great freshman quarterback in Danny Chastain, who looks alot like a young Corey Watson. I'm hoping he'll get some playing time this year. I look to Sevier County to make the play-offs for the 14th year in a row. I don't know why everyone is saying Sevier County is down. The team is looking good. They are excited and ready to get the season started. They're not down by any means!
  19. Sevier County scrimmaged Gallatin at McCallie during camp. On offense, Gallatin couldn't get the ball cross the line of scrimmage. SC walked all over them at camp.
  20. Sevier County will have a mean defense this year. Josh Carr is a real hard hitter. The linebackers are also pretty good. There are strong running backs in Tyler Thomas, and Andrew Feezel (both juniors) and Shawn Hodges (senior). The offensive line is tough with Will Hewitt (senior). He is incredibly strong. Juniors Steven Michaluk and Patrick Sutton were Honorable Mention All Conference last year and they are looking good. Sevier County wants this game bad! So I pick Sevier County to win by 14.
