  1. I am really sorry about your baseball and others. However your not recognizing and trying to do something about your situation is sad. You had at least 2 really good players quit in 07. In 08 you have had at least 5 quit. Maybe six. You must know this. This has went on forever. Why? You don't get better by making excuses. Your coaching is terrible. To be satisfied year after year with your football is a disgrace. You might be the one to change this. 90 percent of the people know what needs to be done. But you allow 10% two rule. You see the goal is make athletics grow young people in mind and body. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
  2. I am afraid I may leave someone out, but Telaia and Taylor and others that will play a lot. I have been told that they are 8 or 9 deep. But their competition is going to be better also.
  3. 77 I have been hearing the same thing. We don't need to count the varsity out, neither do we need to be over confident The high school has the talent. They have the coach. But you need things to fall right, the ball to bounce the right way, injurys to be minor, and last a chemistry between the players. That is what makes it worth waiting for all summer. Have you ever seen a team that was not super, but just played good together, and would not give up. That kind of team is hard to beat. I want to say it now, win or lose Jackson County has the best coach in the state. They have the best fans, and they do have the talent in 7&8 and 9-12 to win. Go Blue. Also I hope all 7A teams have a good season and may God bless all the players.
  4. This could be right. However the sad part is that people would be so jealous and to not give anyone especially young people credit when their hard work, and ability pays off in success. People hate the New England Patriots because they have excelled in their sport. Jackson County has excelled because of the fans, coaching, and excellent young student athletes. Now it is a free country, but we should try to keep an open mind, and give credit where credit is due. That the Herald-Citizen dislikes Jackson County so much they gave coach of the year to Clarkrange coach Lamar Rogers and a player from a team other than Jackson County only verifies this. Till they are beaten Jackson County and Clarkrange should be one and two.
  5. I have noticed in my many decades of sports, I don't know why, but there is a factor that girls sports have more jealously, than boys. Maybe it is a natural competative trait. But you have to have strong fair minded coaches, to deal with this from the beginning, and just say this is not going to be allowed on this or that team. As is often the case a coach may say he is going to do that, but let parents and other things get him off course. Jim Brown and Lamar Rogers do probably the best job at dealing fairly with their players, and I summit the most success with their programs. I beleve it is 12 gold balls all together.
  6. I agree completely. This is a credit to the os program, and congrats to kayla.
  7. 71 glad you are still around and well. Did not hear any support last year for 7a since you program was not very successful. See the way it works you are supportive of other teams and players when they represent your dist. and then others return the favor. I would hope someday you over there would wise up and begin working on your failed athletic system. Basketball, football, baseball, horseshoes. The fact that you year after year don't make a effort to correct the system says it all. In my humble opinion and I know you don't agree, you have not earned the right to get on here and make jokes until you can humble your selves, and show you do care about all young people everwhere that engage in athletics. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  8. I want to add that since the title of this post is the strong get stronger, that I know other teams do good jobs at turning out young adults in their athletic programs that no one does a better job than jc. It is a testimate to jim brown and the school, and the people of jackson county. He demands they do well in their education. The 5 seniors this year were in the top 10. To know these kids is to know that they will do well in adult life. I am proud of them and jc because they deserve my respect. How many teams have their number 6 player get a athletic schlorship to attend college. This should be the goal. And if the complete attention of the program is geared toward this, and they do win a state championship so be it. could this be the result of the attention given to the over all well being of the individual player person to begin with? I think the answer is obvious.
  9. To begin with the paper came to her and ask questions. They have to much pride to answer your questions. But the truth is the important people there and their kids, only wanted to win if their child could get the glory. That is the truth.rbs had their chance of a life time and blowed it. Now live with and be happy with your 10 to 15 win seasons as it had been before. The truth hurts. You know that is the reason you keep bringing it up. Your people blew it because of jealously. now live with it. Also you had one of the best elementary coaches in the state. She should have been hs head coach. You have run her out of the system, and your elementary teams are hurting. Stupid is as stupid does. Now what part of this is not correct.
  10. You may get that opportunity sometime. good luck. You know there are many coaches out there that know the game but there is a need for older people or people with experience in life to serve as assistants on teams. They know that there is more than ability of athletes. There is the home life thay came from. These young athletes need someone on the sidelines that understand their situations, their fears, and that they can count on to be their friend and confidant when they don't play well or make a mistake. No disrespect for the other coaches, I am just saying there is a need there. You bring up a real good possibility and need. Our young athletes are faced with tremendous problems today that have never been greater. That is why I am sensitive of people who critisize without thinking or knowing. Once again go for it.
  11. Thank goodness gator bill. clay county is a good place with fine people. they need a good coach. with all due respect gator you are insecure, inexperenced, don't like to be out at night, and must sleep with the light on. That is just not coaching material. just kiddin good luck to clay county. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  12. If I said you were eating stolen groceries, then say oh I didn't mean you did not pay for them. we are not the smartest people around, but we are not the dumbest either.
  13. Stang I understand what you are saying. I will meet anyone anytime more than halfway if they have goodness in their heart. I don't know why some transfer to other schools. It is not my business. Nor is it the business of gator or miss jamie roper. I do know what went on at one school, and is still going on, and many young people have been hurt seriously because of the athletic system there. Some quit, some carry scars throughout their life. Yes I get riled up when someone gets on here and slurs the people who have transfered. Then when they better their life, they get critized again. If jc had lost to uhs, cookeville, and others last year nothing would be said. And don't hide behind that I didn't know what I was saying gator. You can't take the gold ball away, just do your best to accept it, and try to growup. It ain't to late. One of the worst things you can do is hurt the youngest of us.Know where that came from.
  14. Gator I don't think you really care about the truth. The crowder girl in my opinion has excellent potential. She is being given every opportunity now to step forward. No transfer or paid player is blocking this. It is up to her. If any of the transfers or paid players prevent her improvement, or any of the other players for that matter, I will tell you. That is why other schools with good athletes, never reach their potential, they spend their time trying to stir up trouble rather than try to improve their situation. I hope this does ruffle you feathers, it is the truth. I hope uhs does well this year, and the other area schools also. This should be our hope for everyone.
  15. Gator I have been reading your posts, and I wanted to wait and see where you were going. I thought you might be above the manure, but you have walked in it to. It is not a slam on the transfers, they just are bad in your view, no matter the reason or hardships that caused them to change schools. Be honest, Jim Brown is the best coach in the state, you probably never attained much recognition and you just can't make a fair statement regarding jc or anyone that wants to play for them. what a sad world.
  16. Senator and Stang I bow to your proven wisdom. I would like to ad that the truly great player does appreciate the other players on their respective team. The truly great player will receive respect for helping, working with, and causing the others to play above their natural ability. And the final test is how much fruit is on the vine in march. not necessarly trophys but playing great team ball. keep up the great posts.

  19. Elite navy won 1 lost 1 in detroit today 25th.
  20. Grasshopper you are correct again. Last year jc was well coached as always, but the seniors really worked hard, and if you watched the state t. film speed and defense were amazing. four full quarters of no let up. I have not seen a scrimage this year but I do hear from them. They have the talent, speed, to do the job. They have 8 or 9 that can play. now are they playing as a team we will only have to wait and see. A good coach always has a good team. A great coach has great teams. Rogers and Brown. remember bear Bryant, he just reloaded every year. The poor coaches make excuses. I think jc will surprise some people. And give credit to those 5 that graduated. What an effect that will have on this years players, being around those seniors, and playing with and learning from, we do not need to under estimate their total contribution.
  21. and only travel with the sunlight, for darkness overshadows all.
  22. some really good constructive posts on here lately. I would say you are pretty accurate grasshopper in you pre-season evaluation of the teams. If jc is back in the hunt we will have a chance to prove it. Until then you are correct.I don't know about monterey. I know some of the people there, I think they are special, I love the area and would really like to see them do well in sports, as long as they don't beat jc. just kidding. I know about rbs, graduated there and it was a highly respected school back in earlier years, in sports as well as academics. The sad part about rbs is most of the regular fans are satisfied with their situation. They do not really care about doing great. It is like the church that never seeks to improve but is happy with their 20 or 30 people every week. They have had unbelievable talent in the last 25 years or more in girls sports. I heard one coach say he would kill to have had their talent. Poor coaching, no solid fan support, no support of consequence from elected leaders. Players chosen because of their parents, leading to many, many players quiting down thru the years. constant infighting of parents, jocking for position. Really sad and the young adults the losers. I can see little hope for change. It is a pure case of you get what you allow, and refuse to stand up for. I want to see every young person, everywhere have a fair chance. I did not mean to give a lecture, but I really feel what I feel. You do really only go around once. Long live 7A ball.
  23. we are so glad you are back stang. I just check on the posts every now and then. Those that came down on jc so very hard have pretty well lost their credibility. The first rule is to be right to begin with. I try awfully hard to be 100% accurate when I put a post on here. Look forward to your posts, your wit, and the fun of discussing high school and college ball. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  24. I pretty sure in D1 they must sit out a year. They can drop down and play.
