  1. IMO, the S-Hill offensive play calling was a flash-back from the South game. S-Hill's QB was not on tonight and the receivers weren't receiven. IMO, S-Hill should have made that QB change that was talked about if things aren't going well. It never happened. This game is an example of two hard-headed coaches that didn't make adjustments at half time. Kudos to THS and S-Hill??™s defenses, but S-Hill didn??™t play up to their potential. But, on any given night...
  2. S-Hill is definitely NOT looking past THS. I don’t think it is going to be any big secret what these teams are going to throw at each other. It’s going to be a matter of stopping what comes. Both teams are stout! If S-Hill comes out with a quick start, it will be lights out early for THS. I don’t look for THS to wear down S-Hill like they have against some other teams. If THS can throw the ball I think they have a better chance at winning. If they only pound the running game then it will play into S-Hill’s defensive strength. S-Hill by 14.
  3. I would like to see them make it back to the post season. Its been since, 2001?
  4. Hey comp, In your opinion, did you see any possible D-1 prospects on S-Hill's team?
  5. Elizabethton doesn't score on S-Hill. S-Hill's defense will dominate.
  6. I'm not so sure if Sevier County is all that strong. It is really hard to tell where D-B, Science Hill and others are after one game. They say the biggest improvements are between the first and second games. We all should know more about these teams after this Friday night.
  7. S-Hill has shown in the preseason to have a weak offense and South has shown to have a weak defense. He who scores last, wins.
  8. MO-East offense looked okay, they only have about 3 offensive plays. MO-East defense was okay too. Hard to tell, S-Hill kept playing against their selves. S-Hill needs an O-line, bad! S-Hill's defense looked solid for the most part. #44 for S-Hill is a man among boys. I think both teams need a lot of work, especially S-Hill.
  9. S-Hill’s QB (#8 Sharp) is a transfer from D. Boone, which he was a starter. Boone is predominately a running team, so not much in the way of passing stats. There are 2 other good backs behind #40 Duanah, but you will probably not see them in a varsity backfield(but who knows for sure). The WR’s will play a huge role in the S-Hill offense. All of them are good so to say which one will stand out, I cannot say until the season starts. And I am talking about at least 6 very solid receivers. Surprising to see so many good receivers. The heart of S-Hill’s defense is MLB #44 Trent, but he has a good supporting cast that is really to numerous to mention. There are playmakers all around on defense. The DE/TE transfer (Crumley) from Elizabethton is showing to be a contributor. There are kinks, wrinkles and some bumps that need to be worked out (especially on offense) before Aug. 23rd, but the coaches are working very hard to get smoothed out. I think they will be ready in time for the meeting with South.
  10. Obviously you know absolutely nothing about S-Hill football. Don’t be surprised if Solomon only gets the ball handed off to him 15 times or less. Watch and see
  11. In my opinion-and this will probably surprise some people and many may disagree. Duanah is NOT the best rb at S-Hill. I know Duanah is bigger, stronger and faster, BUT junior rb Issac Kinley is IMO the more experienced and better back. Probably won’t see him much if any in the backfield until next year. S-Hill will probably struggle this season with the running game. Stop S-Hill’ passing attack and you stop S-Hill. S-Hill has tall, fast and sure handed receivers. S-Hill’ defense is strong, particularly against the run. S-Hill 21 South 20
  12. *SENIORS @ SCIENCE HILL TO WATCH* OL – Jeff Fields – Very powerful and solid lineman. DL – Cory Hamilton – Very powerful, great run defender and good pass rusher. WR/DB - Javan Joslin – Good receiver, good pass defender, very athletic. DB/WR/QB - Tomas Hill – Good defensive back, good receiver, good back-up to QB. Very athletic and one of the fastest on the team. RB - Solomon Duannah – Very strong, very fast, could see some playing time on the defensive side of the ball. LB/FB – Aaron Trent – Very large for a LB in high school, powerful and very athletic. This Science Hill team has a load of very good juniors and with another year of tutelage under Coach Smith should be even stronger next year.
  13. I am told that Science Hill's running back Solomon Duanah is 5'9", 205 lbs, squats 505 lbs, bench presses 335 lbs and runs the 40 in 4.5! That sounds a bit scary for everyone in the conference not just DB.
  14. It would be good to see Unicoi reach the status they had in the old days where they would go toe to toe with Johnson City, Bristol, Kingsport and Greenville again. Good luck UC in the upcoming season.
  15. I'm not saying Maryville won't beat SH, but they (SH) just might be tougher than you think. Like I said...We'll see I have no doubt Maryville is an abnormal team! That is why they are making the trip to hook-up.
  16. "their first taste of 5A ball of the season" Maryville will scrimmage a 5A team before Aug 3rd?? Wow, that is soon! I thought practice doesn't officially start until July 30th?
  17. I hear Maryville will get their first taste of 5A ball of the season in a scrimmage against Science Hill August 3rd. Science Hill may not be on the level with Riverdale yet, but they have some pretty good athletes with a new coach from middle Tennessee that might make it interesting maybe. We’ll see . . .
  18. I wonder how South feels about matching up with Science Hill in the first game of the season? Has South been scouting any to see what may be coming to Colonial Heights Aug 23? I would think this should be an interesting match up. No one really seems to know for sure what SH may be bringing. Everyone knows South has a D-1 player in Phillips, but word has it that SH may have two D-1 players this year. Does anyone know for sure?
  19. All these 40 times being tossed around - 4.4 to 4.6 whatever. The real question is-Can they play football?? Make no mistake - Curt Phillips is fast and is a double threat with the arm and on the run. Make no mistake - Solomon Duanah is a tad faster than Phillips and can run with lots of power. Speed is good - Quickness is good - But can you play the game?
  20. Because talk is cheap! Games are won and respect is earned on the playing field, not on message boards or preseason predictions.
  21. Ooltewah Farragut Oak Ridge William Blount
  22. Bearden Science Hill Dobyns-Bennett Jefferson Co.
  23. I watched Cloudland play 7 on 7 with Science Hill, not to bad. If the new coach can pull it (no huddle, spread, shotgun) together, they might surprise a few people.
  24. Also one thing to remember . . . I am told Unicoi lost a very good assistant coach from Byrnes high school, SC to Science Hill.
