  1. Agenda, is this big tuna and any other one that wants to know we have the been the whipping post for many schools over the years and year after year we continue that tradition its not just the coaching staff its the things in general that we the Karns community seem to accept I agree the boys played as about as good as they could have to come up short and we will accept that as a good thing and go and continue doing the same things, I don't have an agenda but, I will say I agree with the majority of the people setting in the stands its time to find a coaching staff that can turn this program into something rather than a losing team year in an year out so when you ask my agenda its real simple, I will post the things that I see and the things I believe and just as you guys can post how great things are and your support for whoever maybe coaching the beavs I can dis agree and post about what ever I wish. I assure you that I want Karns to win more than anything and if this staff could do it I would be the first to say great job but it has been two years aoing on three now and we are 3 and 18 with games looking allot the same week in week out, so my question to you is what are you willing to accept much of the same or change.
  2. Wow, Karns gets beat by one again, the kids played thier butts off tonight and come up short. I know all us Karns faithful will say we played great and got beat on a last sec play which is true but when are we going to really say it like it is our coaches just can't win the close one and I not saying it wihout proof look at the last two years been in some games and find ourselves on the short end, lets all get excited about the close games we lose and continue supporting a coaching staff that just can't get it done under pressure. We are 0-2 with loses against teams that are in rebulding years what is going to happen when we have to play the teams that are not in the rebuilding faze. lets toot our horns on the close ones and keep that same direction of short comings when the kids deserve better.
  3. Big Tuna, No we did not it was something like 22 rushes for 26 yards, I can assure you that WB already knows that they have seen the tape and stats real easy to figure out, I would think letting something out would be like the animal sports station talking about the trick play formation that UT has planned to get the ball on the edge.Anyways Karns will win this one cause WB cannot cover the pass. If they don't win it will be because of the refs just like last week.
  4. Karns will form sure have the upper hand, we have a 3 year starter QB that can throw the screen better than most and if the refs aren't for Wiiliam Blount it will be Karns first victory since Jeff County last year. Big Tuna you are right we can kick it in the end zone and we do throw the ball around but our run game is down right terrible, Karns does need something positive cause if it don't happen soon it may be tough to bounce back, we need to hold the injuries down and come out with a vicyory.
  5. Karns certainly have some young guys and it showed as the night played out, Heitage was allot more physical then Karns both teams seemed to have their moments that would be nullified by the refs. This week will be interesting against another team that is trying to find its place. I have no connection to the Karns team this year other than a spectator but I really wish this young team could turn the corner and have some positives for their team. Seen #3 went out an never came back assumed he was injuired does anyone know what the case is on him? What about our big rival HVA pulling out the season opener at Carter that is a real positive for the first varsity football game in history at that school. I think this week will be Karns 20 WB 14 in a game that will define the road ahead for the next few weeks with clinton, oak ridge, maybe a tuff few weeks.
  6. I hope the program can get turned around, team lost alot of guys and the news about the coaches has not been good as well. Do you know how many coaches have left or are leaving. I heard that the freshman coach is going tohardin valley? I also heard that maybe 2 to 4 coaches are leaving for one reason or another. Good luck to Karns in 09 and I hope things get better.
  7. baller, coaches are always loved by half the community and half will disagree or dislike. Karns is unique only that season after season they are not very good, you know when everyone was haten on coach Fulkerson, they forgot one thing the next guy may not be any better or could even be worse, so things are not always better with change. Having some contact with Karns I have seen their teams with great talent that has no chance of winning because they don't think they can, that directly comes from leadership from HC, if you have poor leadership there your teams will ussally have poor leadership on the field. it does not take you very long to see how poor that is when you attend a karns football game. Not trying to dog anyone in particular, but leadership is where it starts and ends without it you have 1-9 seasons period.
  8. Yes for sure, change it all nickname and coaches maybe that would bring them to glory.
  9. You are correct it does not mean success to have upper classmen and the success of your program does start at the youth level, it seems that Karns youth has some good players that go else where for their HS careers, some for good reasons and some not. Regardless what you, I or anyone else wants to say on this issue Karns as not had a winning season since the70s or 80s and they continue to have bad season after bad. if the youth is the answer then maybe the coaching staff at Karns should take some time with them like the HVA coach did with my nephews team. Make all the arguments you want but, until Karns can put together a 500 season at least, they will continue to lose good players.
  10. I didn't say that the record was acceptable. Honestly, Coach Reeves didn't have much to work with coming in. No coach is going to rebuild that program in a year or two. not much to work with? I am not sure but, for the most part the team this year was made up of 31 seniors, OL mostly seniors RB all seniors, REC mostly seniors I guess having players for two years dos not give you much time. I guess only time will tell on the coaching abilities of that whole staff. Maybe they will be able to win with Juniors and Soph, because they have already proven they cannot win with seniors. Great post baller the Karns team was packed with talented seniors. wonder what the excuses will be next year. Clue Karns will use the excuse that we do'nt have many seniors, watch and see!
  11. Maybe they could learn how to COACH!!!!
  12. I understand your question, NO replies about help maybe no one as an answer, maybe Karns is just one of those schools that will always have trouble for what ever reason. I know alot of families from Karns and the players work as hard as any and the talent level there is sufficent enogh to get the job done. it makes you wonder what is the problem? anyway good luck to the Beavers and hope they can replace all those seniors.
  13. No I am not Coach Morris, I promote the freshman at Karns because my son played with a number of those guys under coach Morris, I also promote Coach Morris because he is a pretty good guy once you get to know him, and its pretty hard to find people that want to give the amount of time it takes to coach at any level especially at the HS level so I would promote anyone I know that wants to make those sacrfices I really was not trying to disrespect Sean or any other player at Karns just stating facts. My oldest son attended Karns and did not play football, so my take on things come from attending Karns and also spending alot of time with freinds that have son's that play today. as far as the Karns team and their year they have had it seems that they are playing much better but, still need to find those key players to get them over the top.
  14. You must be one of those guys that looks through rose colored glasses, in stead of pumping BS in a kids direction I was just pointing out that the kid is not a stud, he plays hard but, stud he is not. MAYBE INSTEAD OF BLAMING EVERONE for having a negative attitude you get some facts, I have seen the same old Karns year in and year out and what the community needs to look towards is that one stud will not develop winning season after winning season, you would think that after having a couple of studs in the past and not being able to get over that hump you would figure out that one stud DON'T GET THE JOB DONE. by the way the reference you speak of was about Sean a senior deciding to leave school without permission and getting caught, suspended 2 days that week and then being allowed to play, IN MOST PROGRAMS THE PLAYER WOULD NOT HAVE EVEN PLAYED ONE DOWN FOR THAT GAME, so get a handle on those type issues and you might, just maybe turn things around.
  15. I think maybe we have solved the problem of why Karns has not had a winning season for more than 20 years, if Sean Bataille is considered to be a stud LB then the bar is set pretty low, Sean is a great kid and he will hit you but, he does not have a lot of talent, he does do a good job with the talent he as but, he is far from being a stud LB. Karns has improved for sure but, they still need a couple of key players to get over the hump. i grew up in the at Karns and it has been the same for the last 30 years, losing season after losing season and all you get is WE should be winning and we have next year. Wake up Karns faithful and realize a 6-4 season will for sure be as if we won the Blue Cross Bowl at MTSU, because that is as close as this team will ever get.
  16. I was speaking to a freind that has a son on the team, he indicated that Coach Morris has been concerned about the line all year, strenght, and the depth of the line. I know lossing two games in a row was not something any team wants but, from what I hear it may do this team well to have some adversity, I know the varsity coaches would rather have it on the freshman level than friday night lights. This team will bounce back, they have been coached very well and the players will have some success how much is a wait and see. Good Luck to all the area Freshman on the remaining games for the year.
  17. Are you kidding? there are NO STUDS at Karns, some good players but, if this team had some studs it could very well be 6-1, an early post indicated that Karns could very well be 6-1 but, they are not and that directly has to do with NOT HAVING THAT ONE STUD be it on D or O. I have seen 4 of their games and I will tell you that they will move the ball on DB, and it will be a game, I think if DB leaves Karns in it they may have themself a HUGH UPSET.
  18. Hats off to HHS, the freshman had some good players and some big aggressive lineman. I think the HHS freshman could do well if HHS gets a district schedule with the redistricting by the TSSAA (get away from MHS), the game was enjoyable to watch. I wish the HHS freshman all the luck in the world, HHS aand Karns has alot in common with their struggles on Friday nights hopefully these freshman classes can help change that.
  19. I have watched the freshman head coach at Karns for years, he develops players and always has his teams ready to play has a team and always disipline, He has great X's and O'S knowledge and does a great job motivating kids to do well for the one that matters the players themself. I think he would make a great High school head coach.
  20. I know that JC beat the Karns freshman but, I also know that the Karns teams played about as bad as they had all year, the JC team seemed to really struggle to put points on the board against the Karns team, even with their brusier back, Karns had 6 turn overs 5 lost to JC. No disrespect to the JC fresh but, I would really like to see a rematch with Karns just to see how it would turn out. The JC QB did not nearly seem to be as good as the Powell QB and for sure is no where near the talent that the Karns QB is.
  21. I am not sure how this game plays out, JC may well beat Karns but I can assure you that this Karns team will not go down without a fight, they will be playing hard for the upset, maybe turn the rest of their season around. I think the score will be more like Karns 28 JC 27 its time for Karns to hand someone a one point loss
  22. I guess having the best players don't mean anything because if that was the case Powell should have won hands down, you say that Powell gift wrapped two scores for Karns I guess that does not work both ways with you because Maryville gift wrapped two for the Mighty Powell, and Karns had one turn over to Powell. Bottom line Karns came into the Panthers den and totally shut them down with their great players, Powell's RB VERY FEW YARDS Karns backs ran all over the field and Powell's scores came on a mis alignment in the d backfield and then another on the second and thrird teamers late, late in the game , so why don't you just admit that Powell's freshman got beat by a better team period. Why we are on the subject QBs only look as good as recievers make them look, and without a line a QB can't do anything.
  23. not trying to start any fights, just wanted to give the Karns Fresh some pub. I think all the freshman teams in the area need to be talked about time to time, they are the furtue of any high school football team. In some states they have region freshman champions, not around here though freshman are looked at as if their games are not relative, I will say that programs that treat freshman like they ae part of the team are the ones that keep players out for football and win.Best of luck to all Freshman teams.
  24. Thanks for the nice word on Karns, I don't have a son that playes at Karns but, he did play for coach Morris for 5 years and now that coach Morris coaches the freshman we follow that group. I think in watching the game that Powell was a little surprised that Karns came out to play, I will say that Coach Morris told the boys after wards that Powell is a very good team that had an off night, and they 9karns) done a good job to capitolize on their mistakes, best of luck to Powell and all area freshman teams.
  25. Apparently you care enough to ask, you must be either a Powell fan or some idiot that just don't understand that freshman are the furture for any program.
