do they still have that lefty who throws decently hard with a SICK curve? Not sure of his name...
  2. 1-DCA 2-Goodpasture 3-Greenbrier 4-White House 5-Station Camp 6-Portland Agree? Disagree? just respond
  3. dude, a 6.16 60 is ridiculous...not to mention it's not parallel to his 4.7 40. I'd say someone who runs a 4.7 40 runs about a 6.9 60...unless he somehow picks up a ridiculous amount of speed in that extra 20 yards /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  4. That's a good assumption from seeing adkins a few times and stem only once. The only problem with your assumption is that as Juniors they both got action from pro scouts and i'm sure they've only gotten better over the fall and winter so that probably means more pros keeping an eye on them
  5. I have never seen Clinard nor Stewart pitch before, but to go by word of mouth I'd say Clinard is just a tad better. After all, he did get a scholarship to Vandy, and Stewart got offered a roster position (not a scholarship) at belmont.
  6. I'll take Notre Dame or Hixson. I didn't see anything special out of Marion last year so I don't see what they could have this year

    District 8-AA

DCA loses only one key player in Tyler Acker, so they have 8 returning starters plus a good one-two punch pitching staff Goodpasture should be tough once again even though they lost at least 5 key players in Darnell, Moffit, Stroud, Hanson, and Lovell, but they still have two solid pitchers in Adkins and Cripps. White House should be pretty good, but not overpowering. I hear they might have a contest for their top starting pitcher even though i don't think they lose one last year. Greenbrier will be a pretty good force this year in my opinion as long as their pitchers can stay consistent Station Camp lost 9 seniors I believe... Looks like this could be a rebuilding year for them Portland lost quite a few seniors as well, but they need to pick up their pitching staff if they want to compete. Any other thoughts? that is in no specific order
  8. Let me brag on District 8AA... Adam Adkins of Goodpasture is pretty crafty. He signed a scholarship with UT this fall. Lefty with great control and a decent curve, but he always keeps you guessing which makes him very tough to hit, although he only throws mid-80s. Stem (Western Kentucky signee) from DCA is one of the best I've seen, but not many have heard of him... a tall righty who throws consistently in the low 90s (topping out at about 93) with two nasty breaking balls. He can keep you guessing as well, but IMO he doesn't have to to beat you. He has struggled with control though. I can't wait to see this matchup... Look for pro scouts when these two face each other!
  9. The only reason anyone ever wants to play goodpasture is the hope that they will slaughter them. They are known for their classless attitudes and there's not a whole lot of people that don't dislike them
  10. all of Alcoa fans have said that about every single team they have played in 2a this year... does that mean that Alcoa is the only 2a team and everyone else is just a good 1a team?
  11. The DCA team alcoa saw on friday night was not the DCA team we saw earlier in the year... but i guess when you're playing a team like alcoa they'll make you look pretty bad
  12. how many games has maryville won in a row? like 50 somethin? don't see that ending anytime soon. And Goodpasture is no match for Alcoa
  13. First of all, I never said that the head coach is not a good coach. I've never spoken him and I think he did a great job this season. All I said is that in this game it looked like the boys were not prepared for the threats that Alcoa had. I only repeated what I was told and that was that some of the kids have quit the team and/or don't play because they don't like the coach. I'm sure that's not because he's a bad coach, after all the team has been in the playoffs 20 years in a row, but maybe they have their own personal reasons for not liking him or maybe it's not even him maybe it's another coach I DON'T KNOW. And someone being scared to play football??? The kids who would play had played in middle school and way before that so i think they know that all those pads are going to protect them. I am most definitely a DCA supporter and fan probably more than you are even, I am most definitely a coach I know what I'm talking about. You don't know me, you're probably one of the kids from DCA giving your school a bad name by coming on here and making a fool of yourself... not only now but even before when you weren't talking to me
  14. Alcoa hasn't shut anyone out all year. They shut out DCA which was supposed to be the 2nd best team they played all year. You don't think that's unprepared? first of all, quit writing in all-caps. It's a coach-t rule if you would read the rules. What would I have done differently? First quarter: worden (#21) was averaging about 5 yards a carry, yet drive after drive on 1st down would be a worden run for 4, 5, or 6 yards. 2nd down was always a pass, which only about 5 were completed all night so let's say 3rd and 5. What do you know, another pass play that results in a sack or maybe a 4 yard run to make it 4th and 1. WE'RE DOWN BY 24...and we punt I do not think DCA would have won this game even if these things were done, but maybe we would have put some points on the board.
  15. DCA is a K-12 school... most of the players have been going to the school since they were about 6 years old (as a matter of fact, every one of their key players have now that I think about it). The difference between Alcoa and other schools (such as DCA) is that Alcoa has bred football players. Their players are literally FOOTBALL PLAYERS. It's what they do, it's what they were born to do, it's what they're known for. Other schools have some athletes who decide to play football. One of the kids the other day was telling me that if the coaching staff of DCA was a little better, they would have about 5 or 6 more of these athletes playing on the team but they just don't like the coaches. That could have made our team that much better. At Alcoa, how could you not like a coach who leads a team to a state championship year after year after year? If Alcoa is recruiting...they're doin a darn good job at it and they deserve to win the golden ball
  16. i don't know, i saw several numbers for the tornadoes bustin big runs. I was too mad to notice to be honest. I feel like the wildcats could have been much better prepared for this game (not that they would have won had they been). Everytime we would get some momentum there was a turnover. Everytime it was 4th and 1 and we're down by 24 we punt it. Everytime we had to punt we would punt it 7 yards so it wasn't even worth punting. Oh well it's over now. This defeat was inevitable, I just wish we could have given you more of a challenge. I feel like we should have put up some more points. congrats alcoa! Your fans were great and you treated your victory with class (but i guess you're used to winning by now!)
  17. Alcoa, you guys are the real deal. I do wish our boys would have been a little better prepared for the game than they were though. Lots of mistakes on our part and y'all capitalized on them. We only left Hodge open two or three times all night and when we did BAM! a screen that goes for about 30 yards. Whether your "open zoning" is the R word or not you have a spectacular football team. I can only pray that you move up to 3a next year /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  18. For the size of the school DCA brings an excellent crowd...I don't know how big it will be compared to public school crowds but DCA only has about 300 kids in their high school and a very large percentage will be at the game. The thing about the DCA students is they might not be big in numbers, but seeing them at the goodpasture and york games, they are crazy as anything. Looks like they love their football team and go wild when they're on the field. You'll probably see some trash cans or megaphones or something crazy coming out of them. It's kind of annoying sometimes, but the parents and players love their support
  19. GO TO A YORK BASKETBALL THREAD OR SOMETHING AND LEAVE US ALONE
  20. Appalachian State vs. Michigan... anything's possible...just not likely
  21. thanks for makin that prediction... well know the last time you made a prediction like that it turned out the complete opposite! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> you're our good luck charm asby
  22. Alcoa hasn't scored more than 60 points all year... why do you think they'll start in round 4 of the playoffs? and just because all you saw in the york game was 21 runnin all over you does not mean that that is the only threat DCA has...it's just all they needed on that specific night. Alcoa 42 DCA 28 don't take em lightly
  23. i am excited to see the turnout of this one! This should be a great game but my final prediction is: DCA : 28 York: 10 PLAY HARD BE SAFE GO WILDCATS /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
  24. as long as goodpasture isn't overlooking hickman in this game, they'll take it with ease Goodpasture 35 Hickman 20
  25. this is about OUR FOOTBALL TEAMS not OUR RELIGIONS. don't criticize people for their beliefs and by whether or not they pray before a game...that's not cool and could be very offensive. now lets start talkin FOOTBALL. Earlier someone said something about York running the Wing T? Well Goodpasture who has been one of dca's toughest opponents is also notorious for their near perfect execution of the wing t, and to my knowledge, the wing t was shut down on that specific friday night. I hope York has a couple more tricks up their sleeves! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
