  1. total points (i only have the top three teams) MTJ: 9,270 *top 3 in all categories PHS: 8,800 *top 3 in all but 3 categories DCHS: 8,750 less than 500 points separated the top teams. i think Lewis Co was 4th followed by Cheatham, Riverside, Creekwood,.. correct me if i am wrong.
  2. i will not put the players's names but... Lewis county did well in the speed portion of the event with an overall 2nd place finisher and they had two overall powerclean winners in the 220 and 240 division. with the 240 division winner claiming the best Clean of the day with a 290 pound clean. the BEST bench was 340 from PHS the BEST 40 was 4.6 from RHS (Riverside) i believe 8 schools total.
  3. District 9AAA represented well at this weightlifting compitition! Mt Juliet 1st and Portland 2nd with DC placing 3rd. Bench King from Portland (two of the top three benchers from Portland. 1 of the top Cleans from Portland and one of the top three 40's. Great job by the Host Dickson Co! Top notch job by thier staff and players.
  4. Fact is, there are three other teams in Tennessee that run single wing as their offense. Huntington, portland, mcewen, and a really good middle school in Onieda.
  5. Try Portland high school in summer county. They need an assistant coach according to the news
  6. Even with 9 defenders in the box, gallatin could not slow down the panthers and big penalties against the panthers led to the gallatin scores. This game could have been a shutout, that Portland defense gets stronger every week. Would love to see a home playoff game!
  7. Great Post... one small correction... Portland runs Single Wing Offense.
  8. i am looking forward to finally coming home for thanksgiving and watching the Wildcats play some football... hadnt seen them play live in a long while but i believe this is the year of the CATS... gotta take care of West Carroll first. Go CATS. (wish the panthers were still playing)
  9. we got there a couple minutes late and had to sit at the end next to the concessions. i saw you but couldnt get your attention, talked to Randy and several after the game. Caught up with calvin and some other former players. depending on how far you get in the playoffs... we may see ya agian, when we come home to visit again.
  10. PC and WC should be a great game. i had a chance to watch the Perry county and MTP game last week with our whole district off for fall break. i was impressed with Jacob Tucker and his offensive dominance (1A football is just too easy for this kid) Mt Pleasant had plenty of chances to score but shot themselves in the foot every time they sniffed the red zone... PC's secondary had plenty of holes in it but no one from mtp could catch. they dropped three would be touchdowns! and snapped another one off the facemask of the qb 20 or so feet in the air. As a coach i could feel the frustration from Coach Smith's sideline. As far as the WC/PC game, should be the first real test for both teams. a barn burner for sure... hope to get to see them play again in the playoffs.
  11. i think you should change your screen name to NON-purplepantherpride!
  12. Awesome website and Coach Hood seems to be a well organized coach and program but he was wrong on one point in his comments... The Tennessean picks Clarksville Acadamy to Beat Portland @ Portland. He played the underdog role a little early.
  13. Wayne county has been playoff contenders for a long time with a very good tradition built on the split back veer. (triple option is just a fancy name for it) A. Rice will be good at it but maybe throw in some SWO as well. (single wing that is) they have taken a different form to fit rice's ablities but the transition back will not be difficult.
