  1. I'm number 7, and yes, I was there for the WB and Mo West game, but I didnt have my jersey on, I dont ever wear my jersey when I'm not pitching, I just had on a black shirt with my pants. Yea dude you threw good, but it looked like you shoulder was bothering you a lot, I saw you stretching it and rubbing it a lot during the game. I hope you can get that cleared up, and good luck the rest of the way man.
  2. I do play for Alcoa, my name is Graham Myers, left handed pitcher.
  3. If we can get our of the district tournament then I think we have a pretty good shot at state because of the way the tournaments are set up from there. You have to win monday in the region, and then saturday in sub state(we have graduation on friday so it would give an extra days rest). There is no way Bounds only threw 141 pitches, I threw like 115 and only walked one batter, whereas he walked like 8, he had to throw way more than that. Carter's coach could ruin a pitcher letting him throw so many pitches all the time. I cant rememeber Carter ever changing pitchers, not very safe for young, developing arms. We played pretty dang good this weekend against some AAA teams so I hope things keep turning around for us because we are finally getting some people swinging the bat like they are capable of, and we didnt throw either of our top 2 pitchers.
  4. Alcoa beat Maryville 12-4, lost to South Doyle 15-0, beat Bath 21-8, and beat Morristown West 18-17 to finish the tournament at 3-1, not bad for a AA school against all AAA schools. Good luck to the other Blount County teams today.
  5. I dont regret anything I've said, and some dude said why I didnt go out and finish the game in the 8th, well its called a future in baseball in college, something Bounds might get at the D3 level if he is lucky.
  6. how did we not give the game to you? we made 8 errors, and you had 7 UNEARNED runs, im pretty sure thats giving the game away. bounds doesnt have good stuff, thats 2 games in a row that we have ripped him, he started a game against us last year. i hope we do play yall again in the tournament so after the game we can wave bye to you and say "hope you have a good summer"
  7. Carter scored 10 runs(3 earned), on 8 Alcoa errors, and 5 hits. I didnt have great stuff, but Carter lucked up that we just handed them the game on a silver platter. We will play again, and it will be another good game. When does Carter play Gibbs and Fulton, and when does Seymour play Gibbs????
  8. I heard Tyler Burstrum is throwing again for WB tomorrow against SD. He threw good last time, but after watching SD play last wednesday at Heritage I see SD scoring a lot of runs espically with the short porches in left and right at WB. WB will score a couple runs because their bats are really hot right now, but without Mark throwing WB is in trouble.
  9. We beat Gibbs 4-1 Monday night at Alcoa, and travel to Gibbs tonight(Tuesday) for a HUGE game for both teams. Baseballss07 make sure you post on here tonight the score of the Seymour and Carter game, thats another huge game too.
  10. Dont pay any attention to him dude, he prolly doesnt even play baseball. Everything was clean except for him. Who are yall throwin tomorrow?
  11. yes sir, big win for us tonight, but we gotta keep our focus for tomorrow, should be another good game.
  12. Catholic: Complete game shut out, 14 K's, 2 hits William Blount: Threw the last 2 innings, got the win, struck out 6, gave up 1 run on a hanging curve ball to a real good hitter
  13. I think you Seymour people will be impressed with our new field monday, they did a really really good job with it and it keeps gettin better every day. Just wish we had lights for this year, but those will be there next year.
  14. Yea its not good for a 5A schools rep to get drilled by a 2A school..... Well WB did get dominated tonight, just not in the way I expected. Ryan threw an excellent game and SD didnt need their bats. Tyler threw a great game for WB, but that was the best game he ever and will throw in his life, having your defense let you down is the worst feeling ever. Good luck to both teams
  15. Obviously Im not from either school, but WB has no chance tonight. Even if Ryan comes out and throws bad and gives up 5 or 6 runs he will still win because SD will score 7 or 8 runs. Mark McGill is the only pitcher WB has, period. South Doyle might be the best team in the state. When is WB going to ever learn to keep their mouths shut? Football season they run their mouths all year and get waxed all year and even wont play ceritan people(cough cough Alcoa) to try and keep a good record, but they still stink. Same thing in basketball, they win a couple games in a terrible district(besides Bearden) and they think theyre something and get put out in the first round of region. I can envision the same thing happening tonight at SD, WB runs their mouth, Ryan throws a good game, and the SD bats dominate. Does anyone not remember that night at WB about 2 weeks ago when South Doyle had about 12 or 13 hits against WB's top 2 pitchers. Yea Im sure SD cant hit WB's pitching.....

    Travel Teams

You have to play travel ball if you want to play college baseball at any level, you will not be seen by college coaches by just playing high school and summer rec leagues. This is the best apporach for a high school kid that wants to continue his high school career.... 1. It is not the number of games that you play in the summer, its the amount of QUALITY games that you play. You need to always be playing against people that are college level players because you will never get any better if you dont play against people that perform at high levels. It will show you what you need to work on the most. 2. You need to make sure that you develop a good relationship with the area MLB scout in your area or any other person that has contacts with college coaches. These men can be great references for you and in baseball college coaches will use the people constantly to see how your progressing and to see what kind of person and player you are. 3. It is also very important that you take some weekends and weeks off from playing tournaments and go to college camps. This is the best way to get recruited because its very easy for college coaches to evalute you in their own environment and in the manner in which they want. They will be totally focused on you, and recruiting is the main reason college coaches hold these camps because they dont have the money to travel around and recruit like football and basketball programs. 4. In the end the most important thing is to get involved with Perfect Game Baseball. They are the number one college scouting service and orginization in America. They know what they are doing, are very successful at it, and have put thousands of kids into college. Their showcases and tournaments are the biggest attracator of college coaches year around. Every college coach in the nation goes to their tournaments in East Cobb, Georgia in July and I have played in these tournaments many a time with 30-40 college coaches in the stands, and not just any coaches, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Clemson, North Carolina, and I could go on forever. If you do all of these things and always work hard during the off season then you will play college baseball, that is dependent on you having some talent to begin with
  17. We will be the best team in the county. Lots of people will be suprised with us this year. We are farther along right now then we ever were at any point of the season last year because we finally have a field to practice on every day. I think people will be impressed with the new field, the Alcoa administration did a great job.
  18. Let me guess, you got this information from the 99.1 Radio show in the morning with Mr. Mickey Deirstone. His show is a total joke, he is the same guy that made all of the ignornant comments about the Alcoa-GP game. People call into his show and say stuff, and they have no evidence to prove these statements. Yes, its true we have 3 players from outside Blount County, but they moved here during the summer before their freshmen years, and this was a decison made by their parents to put them in a school to excell both academically and athletically. I have went to school with all of the rest of the players, minues those 3, for 12 or 13 years now. People are just jealous when a school like Maryville or Alcoa is successful for a long time. Also, Knoxville is mad because Blount County PLAYS BETTER FOOTBALL THAN THEM!!! Alcoa Since 2000 3 State Chamionships 4 Time Semi Finalist 2 Mr. Football Award Winner Maryville Since 2000 4 State Championships 5 Time Semi Finalists 2 Mr. Football Award Winners Those facts there would cause anybody to be jealous of Blount County Football
  19. This is the second year in a row that Duck has got shafted. He should have won it last year when he tied the state record for rushing touchdowns in a season. Awards like this are a joke anyways, and all that matters is that Duck will have two state championship rings to show off to all the other finalists, and I would much rather have one of those than a Mr. Football.
  20. Tornado74, not all athletes get special treatment, just the football players. If they get treated that way then all athletes should too. I am just as good as our top tier football players in my sport, but I dont get that special treatment.
  21. Which two sophomores would that be? I'm pretty sure Cait was doing most of the schooling, I mean she did have 23 points and didnt play the last quarter and a half, and when she got hurt she was getting in a rythm and most likely would have finished with over 40 points again.
  22. 1. Yes, I am an Alcoa fan 2. Yes, I am a student at Alcoa 3. Yes, the incident at school is a fact, not a rumor, my friends were involved. 4. Yes, I am going to the Boro and you can come talk to me Friday night, I will be more than happy to tell you what I'm wearing and where I am sitting. Im not jumping on and off any bandwagon, if you cant tell I didnt say anything about one Alcoa player, or the team, I was commenting on the Coach. I know all of the team, and im best friends with the seniors on the team. I support them 100 percent and I always will. I have never once doubted the players. Good luck Tornadoes.
  23. That would be Mr. Chris Shiverdecker sir.
  24. Alcoa's players are gulity of excessive celebrations all the time. They are not called for penalties because of this, but the things they do are very uncalled for. During the 2001 football season Alcoa's players were the same as this group of Tornadoes, showy and undisciplined. This cost the 2001 Tornadoes a state championship, but hopefully this year they will be able to pull through the adversity. Alcoa fan's called for Coach Meadows' head after the 2001 football season because they said he could control his players and because they were undisciplined. Well Coach Reid's players are just as bad or worse then Meadows' were. Coach Reid needs to get control of his players because a lot of people talk about how he cant control his players and how they are always show boating. Why isnt the Tornado faithful calling for Reid's head for the same things they did when Meadows was the coach?
