Whats up everybody! Its been a while since Ive been on this thing. The Blaze this year will definately be better than last year. It will help that most of the region will be a little weaker too. The backfield will be loaded. Locke-QB, Mimms-RB, Meredith-FB/RB, Miles-FB. But it all starts up front. If the line doesnt come along then it doesnt matter how good the backfield is. For all you fans out there that want to see the Blaze air it out more, I got bad news for you. With Coach Campbell at Offensive Coordinator you'll see a little more variation in the offense, but it will all start with the run first. The defense has some holes to fill, but with Alsup calling the shots you know he'll come up with something. My prediction is either second or third in the region. First place is pretty much locked up, I would say the Blackman/Smyrna will be for second place. But it all starts up front with the offensive line!

Whats up sports fans. I know one thing Im happy its finally football season. I know Slim agrees with me on that one. Ive watched Blackman all spring and all summer. If you asked me back in the spring how this season was going to go I would of told you 3 wins would of been a great achievement. But this team has alot of heart and determination. They worked hard over the summer and have gotten alot better. Now I know Friday night the Blaze have their work cut out for them. All Ive heard all summer is how loaded LC is. But I dont think its going to be a blow out like everyone says. I was on that team that went down and won in "The Pit" the first time. And whoever says that place isnt a big advantage must not have ever had to play in that environment. Just because we won down there in '02 doesnt mean we wont have to adjust Firday night. Remember these seniors were sophomores the last time we played down there and very fewed of them played that night. I just hope Kenny is ready to carry the ball 40-50 times Friday night bc there is no secret on what were going to do, "3 yards and a cloud of dust" but I know thats how Coach Alsulp likes it. At QB their going to be ok. Whoever is in there (Emerson,Dawson,or Locke) neither one is going to beats you throwing the ball, but what they cant do is turn the ball over! Thats the key to the game. If we can keep the ball away from them and have long drives we'll be ok. Our defense can hang with them but they cant be on the field all night long, thats when our depth catches up with us. But is should be a interesting one Friday night. I know one thing Ill be there to see it. GO BLAZE! #14

All I know is that the West is loaded with great talent, but the East gets to pick out of Rutherford Co. and their not even taking advantage of it. Here is a county that has five 5 AAAAA football teams in it, and all five of them are very comprtitive. Three are in the same town together, and Murphy Fair(the man selecing the east team) has only taken 3 players out of Murfreesboro. Now granted the three that he has picked are very deserving, but HELLO Mr. Fair!!!!!! You have probably one of the top 3 or 4 tail backs in the state at Blackman (Rico Turner)and you dont pick him......Whats the deal? Im not saying if they put Rico on the team they will win. All Im saying is that he is just as deserving if not more than anyone else.

Nothing against Lebanon but everybody looks fast against Father Ryan! You can't compare Ryan to any of the teams Lebanon will see this year in their district.

Hey dog, If yall had a half way descent field goal kicker yall would of won that game. Yall had the most talent in the region and the least with it! The funniest thing I saw last year was after the Smyrna-Blackman game a girl that was dressed in Smyrna stuff ran out on to the field and kicked a field from the exact spot where yalls kicker had missed 4 straight and she knocked right down the middle.haha!!!

Who knows how this region will pan out next year??? Both Riverdale and Blackman lose alot, but you always have to figure Riverdale will be in the mix. They always seem to pull players out of nowhere(thats a whole different story) Blackman loses alot but also returns a couple of players who proved this last year they can play at this level. They get all their linebackers back except for the Mays kid. Watson leaving will effect them more on the O-line than anywhere. Campbell will take over the offensive coordinator job, which means you should see the offense open up a little more. They need a quarterback to step up and take control this spring. The job will either go to senior Brett Emerson or sophomore Matt Dawson. In my opinion the Dawson kid is a year away and needs time to develop. Who knows Eric Locke's little brother will be a freshman next year and might get a shot at the job when he gets over there. Oakland doesnt lose much, but Oakland still has to prove to everyone they can win the "big games" In my opinion Smyrna has the best team in the region,on paper! So heres my predictions: 1. Smyrna 2. Riverdale 3. Blackman 4. Oakland 5. Lebanon 6. LaVergne 7. Siegel

If it is true that Coach Watson hasnt gotten the job then I want to be one of the first to congratulate him. I just talked to him earlier this week and he was not real sure if he would get it or not. But it seems like everything has worked out. I know Coach Watson will get that program headed in the right direction. E.B.

Phillip was at Blackman until he was dismissed from the team during the summer. He transferred to Smyrna, but the last I heard he was headed back to BHS. If this is true it will help Blackman tremendously next year, Phillip can really play!

Hey there defref, well buddy your a couple of days late on the boro bashin has been goin on since early Saturday morning. But all us Blaze fans wanna know if your going to make an appearance at old Tomahawk Stadium Friday night. We need you up there getting the fans rowdy! Just remember ole B.O. is just one snap awsy from being the man Friday night. Well us back here in the boro appreciate you holdin down k'town for us!!!! We'll see ya Friday night! P.S. As far as I know there are no injuries on either side besides Amburgey for Blackman.

Region4fan I have heard just about enough from you. How can you say that we are nothing but "Rico and the Blaze." I believe Friday night was enough proof that they are more than just Rico Turner, Friday night was a total team effort, and they won as a team. Just like theyve been doing all year. I would expect nothing less this Friday. Im not saying they'll beat Riverdale, but if they go down they'll go down as a team. And how in the world can you say when you put pressure on Rico he goes down? When have you ever seen Rico back down from somebody? Ive been playin with Rico since I was 12 years old and I have never seen him back down from anybody, especially anybody from Riverdale or Oakland. If I remember correctly both times he's gone up again Oakland he has run all over them. So I dont think anyone from Oakland has room to talk about Rico Turner. And last but not least, the "respect" thing. Nobody at Blackman gives a hoot if anyone from Riverdale respects them, they dont like us and we dont like them on the field. But I guarantee as soon as the game is over and the pads come off those players are still really good friends. And they respect eachother off the field. But during the game their all going to fight tooth and nail to make sure they dont loose to the other team. Thats what makes great rivalries! Thats why Blackman and Riverdale is the fastest growing rivalry in the state. Ill see yall Friday night!!!! And hey region4fan, if you want to see how real football is played come to Riverdale Friday night.

Lets face it folks, last year has nothing to do with this years game. Two completely different teams this year! I have close friends on both teams and I dont think you can say one team wants it more than the other one. Both teams will leave everything they got out there Friday. Expect nothing less than a "classic." Both teams have showed they can win no matter what kind of conditions, or what kind of controversey. But I believe in the end it will come down to whos defense can dig in and come up big in the 4th quarter. And I have to say here lately Blackman's defense has found a way to get it down late in games, when Riverdale's hasnt been faced with that kind of situation late in a big game! I gotta go with the Blaze in this one, 9-7! But, good luck to both teams! It should be a great one!

I THINK HE IS 27, FROM MCMINN COUNTY, ETOWAH OR ENGLEWOOD, HE IS AT MIDDLE TN NOW, BUT WORKED IN THE TX JR COLLEGE SYSTEM AS A COORDINATOR FOR TWO YEARS AND WAS VERY SUCCESSFUL, #2 DEFENSE IN THE COUNTRY LAST YEAR, HOW IS THAT FOR A YOUNG GUY.

I heard Heath Davis, Offensive Graduate Assistant at Middle Tn State University is very interested, He coordinated a defense in Jr. College that was #2 Nationally and the team went 12-0, what would be wrong with a young coach with some new ideas and enthusiasm? Just curious.

hey 'lilqb' who in the world are you? you obviously dont know anything about last years team or my career at Riverdale, so Im not even going to give you the privilige of knowing. But my response to you earlier had nothing to do with my playing career, it had to do with me standing up for a friend. And hey lilqb, how many snaps have you ever taken in a varsity football game at qb...I would love to see how you handle the pressure

Alright 'lilqb' im not real sure who you are but you obviously have no idea what your talking about when you say britton cant handle pressure situations. i played qb at both RHS and BHS and i have known and played football with britton since i was 11 years old, and if theres anyone that can handle pressure situations its him. I think last years Blue Cross Bowl performance should tell you that.

I dont know how you can say that Blackman has no speed. Blackman is nothing but speed. And if you think you can get outside on their defense, good luck!

Hey there Regoin4Fan, I can honestly say as a former Blackman player, that eventhough the band helps out alot on when were on defense, but when they play when were on offense it is a little bit annoying. And I know exactly what the coach meant about the Riverdale game last year, not only did we have to put up with 9000 screaming fans but we also had to hear over our band and Riverdales band. As much as I would love it if Rico would play I can tell you that there is noway in the world Rico will see any action Friday night! He just got released the other day and just now started practicing. Everything Ive heard from coaches,trainers,and Rico is that he is scheduled to return against Hendersonville, and even then he will only see limited action. But either way I think Friday night is going to be a good one! See ya at Tomahawk Stadium!!!

Hey Tiny Tim, Dont you think for OHS vs RHS to be a rivalry OHS has to actually compete with Riverdale. If I remember correctly both times RHS and OHS played last year OHS got embarrassed! Maybe now that Taron isnt playing Oakland can make it a little more interesting.

Hey Defref aka "Stain"! I can't believe you would miss the Bash in the 'Boro next week. If I remember correctly last year at both meetings you were the one that got our crowd going. Were really going to miss you next week. As for tonight at Franklin, lets put it this way, if BHS doesnt bring their "A Game" they could be in for a big surprise! It sure would be embarrassing to go into the Riverdale game 2-1 instead of 3-0. But as an ex-player I know the character of this team and Im pretty sure that they'll come ready to play tonight. The past two weeks Amburgey has taken most of the snaps and I dont see that changing any tonight, eventhough I know if L-puss's number is called the offense wont miss a beat. Well Defref, I got to go, I hope you change your mind and decide to come on down next week, I heard through the grape vine that one of Blackman's key players could make a surprise return again the ole Warriors.
