  1. Whoa I almost looked stupid lol, glad these two teams are playing. I can't wait for Lewis to visit again its a classy team and classy town. I hope the environment is the same as always, but I hear from a good source that the Lewis co. Community has been givin up on their boys early this season is this true?
  2. These two teams have a short but very heated rival ignited in 2003. The last time these two teams met in the first round of the playoffs Camden won big time. Now the lions have been winning big all year, but Lewis co. D is always tough. How does everyone see this olaying out?? My vote is Camden by 14 plus.
  3. Gaskin reminds of a certain QB in 2006, good passer on the run but would rather tuck the ball and run it no matter what. Which is good, but it is necessary to hit WR's down field when the chance is given.
  4. Do people realize in Coach Ward's tenure at Camden he is 4-2 in region championships. The two losses coming to State Champion runner up in 2004 Huntingdon, and number 4 Lewis Co. in 05. I'll take those odds anyday.
  5. This thread has ran its course, move on yall.
  6. Just out of curiosity Gerry could you tell me those teams?
  7. I remember a certain team that came to Historic Wright FIeld and completely disrespected our stadium and our fans, that team was the Richland Raiders in 2006. We won that contest, but my point is I realize that the players aren't on here talkin all the crap. The people talkin crap are the ones who sit in the stands and are 100% behind their team when the team is winning, but then dog the crap out of the team when they lose. I hope that these people are no reflection of CW's team, becuase 9 times out of 10 if a team disrespects another team at home the home team wins. This is the Regional Championship Game, I don't see a blowout coming from either team. What I Truly beleive is going to happen is a hard hitting game, with lots of emotion from both teams, and two classy teams that are well coached playing hard all night. The final point spread will be no more than 10 points for whichever team that does win. I can't wait I just found out I can make this game, and I will be there with the letter boys yelling my head off for my former teammates. Best of Luck to all the seniors, I hope they continue the winning tradition and set the ladder higher for future classes. I hope all of CW travelers have a safe trip and stop in early to enjoy some of the local grub .
  8. I have one thing to say, and that is Riverside wins this one. Also I would like to thank Riverside for last weeks win over TCA. I have a few acquaintances at TCA that thought talked a lot of trash about a good Riverside team, and the Panthers showed up to play and beat those private school brats. Good luck on both of yall's seasons to both Riverside and SC from a Camden fan.
  9. Man at all the trash talkin lol, I love two teams defending there boys till the end. Now, Camden's team has yet to play a mistake free game in the aspect of Turnovers which as we know is huge. Camden's secondary is questionable at times due to the fact that WEST TN. Teams are majorily run teams, so our DB's play to stop run first then pass. However, if this CW QB is as good as everyone is saying rest assured Coach Blow has taken this into account and made gameplan specifically for him lol. Our D is stout though make no mistake about it, play hard every play and read keys well. Our O is a powerhouse as well as most people know. Yes we're fast and rely on a lot of misdirection but the backs are quite elusive as well. The biggest offensive weapons are speed, speed, speed, so if the field is bad it could greatly affect the Lions but also the Redhawks. I don't know much about CW, but what I do know is obviously they are better than a mediocre team or they wouldnt be in position to win a Region Championship. It sounds like to me that CW has at least as much speed as Camden considering they are running 3 wide or more. This also tells me that CW has one heck of a QB obviously if they are running this type of O.(Hopefully this QB isnt anywhere near the quality as CPA's ex QB Connor Lowery, the Camden D allowed him to pass for almost 500 yards in the second round in 2007.) TO finish up this game is surrounded by TONS OF HYPE, from people associated with both schools and outsiders. I can't wait to see this matchup hopefully I can get off work to be there and if not i'll be listening lol. My final prediction is Camden by a touchdown or less.
  10. Is anyone else's head spinning lol, this stuff is as bad as studying for Calculus II test ha ha.
  11. Dyersburg has a world of problems it sounds like, and it seems to stem with the coaches. I sure hate to see a team as good as the Trojans be driven into the dirt so far they can't climb out and that is exactly what is happenin. If the coaches are degrading these boys like someone said then a coaching change must be made, because if a coach fails to beleive in his team then his team won't follow him into games. A hard minded, but caring coach is the best. I have played for the type of coach who belittles his players (In junior high), and I have also played for a coach who was harsh when it came to telling the truth but was always quick to encourage after that truth. Being a harsh but truthful critic as a coach will work magic for these young men, but it sounds like D-Burg has coaches that are just harsh critics. Good luck to Dyersburg on the rest of the season, and hopefully they will have this whole mess figured out for next season.
  12. Well one more day to go then the matchup of CC and the Lions starts up. Can't wait unfortunately I can't make it to this one, but i will be at thge Creekwood game. As far as playoffs goes, I think as long as Camden plays the game the way they are coached and capable of playing a face off Bulldogs vs. Lions is entirely possible. I saw Milan play Ripley and the closest the score was in that game was before first half kickoff. I realize that Ripley is not a good measuring stick, but I can say that speed will not be the problem. Milan has a lot of size and this is where my concerns kick in. I think Camden has a great shot of beating the dogs though, because Milan's biggest weakness from I could see was their QB. He's fast, but he makes poor decisions when he's pressured. Just watch out cause he can be shifty and he's not afraid to run.
  13. I don't know much about Cheatham Co. but it sounds like they are having one of those rebuilding years with only 3 seniors. This season will pay off in the next few years though I will say that. As far as Camden napping, I don't see Coach Ward and Company allowin that to happen. The Lions need to start putting some 100% complete games together thoug I will say that. It's starting to get to the point in the season where they need to start peaking for playoff pefromances. Since I don't know enough about Cheatham Co. I won't give any prediction other than Camden continues to roll. Can't wait for this game, and best of luck to both teams.
  14. This Creekwood bunch is looking way past this game to two weeks away with the big time showdown of Camden Central and Creekwood. If Sycamore plays hard and make little mistakes they could just come up and surprise this CReekwood team. Looking ahead and lack of focus on each game often turns into losses. I think this game will be closer than expected between Sycamore and Creekwood, but only time will tell. My pick is Creekwood by 14 or less.
  15. Wow just what we need someone who can talk for our boys that are workin their butts off everyday in practice. Man just take one game at a time, and dont go giving other teams playoff materials especially in big games and playoffs.
  16. The point I was trying to make is simply that most people are basing their opinion mostly on 2 teams Alcoa and Maryville. No one will argue those have been the 2 most dominating teams of the last decade in the state. So, I agree that the east has the 2 best teams, but you can't say that your entire region is better. It sounds like you guys are riding Alcoa and Maryville's coat tails. Look the way I see it is No Matter What each team across the state is going to have to play the team they draw each no matter who it is. If my team Camden Lions drew Alcoa, then I would be there with Black and Gold on just like every game I go to. I would be the loudest one in the stands. I don't base which division is simply on two teams, and I certainly don't say one region is better than another. One example is every year I have to hear that middle Tenn. teams are better than West Tenn. teams, but yet my West Tenn. beat them time and time again.
  17. Man if Huntinfdon pushed Camden's D around what happened cause the score surely didn't reflect that. Camden 28 Huntingdon 13 Hmmmmm sounds like you got it backwards to me sir, but oh well that game is in the past. Camden has beat H-town four years in a row now, and they Lions are moving ahead just like they always have in the Ward era. It looks like to me that as long as Ward keeps his boys in a line like he has since day one then the next big challenge on the schedule is Creekwood, but Coach Ward and CO. is gonna take it one game at a time. I'm curious to see how the Lions handle the game with Creek cause this is definately the game to measure the season by. The pre-season picks to win the region acording to Murphy Fair was 1 Creekwood followed closely by 2 Camden. Unfortunately I will; not be able to make this game but I will be following along on the radie. BLACK and GOLD BABY!!!
  18. Here's my Opinion which isn't much when it come to East Tenn. football: 1) Alcoa 2) Milan 3) Polk County 4) Austin-East 5) Camden 6) Elizabethton 7) CAK 8)Gatt-Pitt 9) Mcminn 10) York Institute As far as the East being better than the West or Middle its slightly historically true. I mean you have major powerhouses of Alcoa and Maryville. Since 1998 up to 2008 the East counting all classifications from A all the way to 5A has 17 State Championships, and the West has 5 to the best of my findings. So I beleive the East has the right to say they have better football, but that DOESN'T MEAN THE WEST CAN'T WIN. This comes from a West Tenn Fan. All I know is historically speaking The East is best, then the West, and finally the Middle (excluding all the D-II schools).
  19. DII thanks for the recognitio, our boys in the past and present have worked, played and practiced hard to get to this point. I feel that as long as the coaching staff we currently have remains we will continue to prgress towards the caliber of teams like GP.
  20. MckenzieDad, thanks for the info, sounds like yall have a strong team now and in years to come. I think this will be a game like the 2004/2005 games. FIlled with intensity from both sides. How many big hitters do yall have, cause we Lion fans love to see knock out slobber Knockin games Ha ha. DII i hear yall have one awesome back lol, and thanks for the good wishes for our season.
  21. Milan- Jabronksi Gilbert a Sr. D I for sure Camden- Dakota Summers a Sr. DE/TE has quite a few D I offerts, and Jordan Murphy a Jr. also has a lot of attention Henry County- Lennies Mcferren, and Skylar Haley (has a few ACC offers that I know of) USJ- THey have a 3 time all State WR Austin MArtindale a Sr. with great speed, and just as good hands, and QB Jake Overby a Jr. who has a lot of attention from the SEC. Eric Dietz a Sr. RB will gain attention as well for his play in the secondary. THere a lot more out of West Tenn., but these are some of the ones I have seen play.
  22. Well last years graduating class hit us hard, but we still have an extremely tough team. Micheal Gaskin returns to QB, Dakota Summers is back at TE and DE, Patrick Hassell returns for RB, Wingback, LB, and a few other players both ways. I haven't got the oppurtunity to watch them play yet, but everything I've heard from players/ fans say they're looking good. How are the Rebels looking this year? Any outstanding players on either side of the ball?
  23. I know it's early, but this a game that always excites the Camden and Mckenzie communities. The last time these two teams met in 2004 Camden won the contest 31-24. So let's get the talkin started how does this one play out??
  24. I never knew it was possible for someone to talk more crap than their butt, but you Alcoa fans have proven me wrong. Thanks /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> .
