  1. Help T$$AA??? Don't they ALWAYS help themselves????lol
  2. I agree. If West plays Columbia like they did AC last night, they're looking to make school history! GO WEST!
  3. You're absolutely right about West forcing turnovers, RR. Coach Rang did his homework (as he has all year) and CONGRADULATIONS to Coach Rang and the whole West Rebel Team! Good Luck next week and I, for one die hard Maverick fan, think you guys "COULD... GO... ALL... THE... WAY!!!"
  4. Just trying to interpret (?) some of your posts. Your name is interesting ,also. In flight? .....anywho.. You are correct. Blood IS thicker than water. Yes, I was there. One of the most fun atmospheres EVER. The Maverick fans WERE PUMPED UP! I wish the seniors best of luck, also, in their future endevours. These playoff days will be ones they will remember and tell their grandkids about. West's defense is tough this year. They are playing lights out. I'm sure Coach Gillum will have a few more tricks up his sleeves this week offensively, but our defense must be prepared. Probably will boil down to the more aggressive team. GO MAVS!
  5. Bump! Would love to have the old AE, Fulton, and yes...Catholic games to play again! We just loved to hate you guys!
  6. It's not that the "pool" drawn from is 2-3 times their size. It's that the "pool" drawn from is more "talent specific". Difference in "pools"! One "pool" is zoned, the other is not. And Irish, that would beg the question, "who's "pool" is truly larger?" hahahahaha!
  7. ORidgeKat.....Powell "Panthers". AC needs to move passed Powell, on to West. I have questions about Mavericksinflight. Where do his true loyalties lie? Is he from Powell? Is he from Anderson County? Where did he transfer from...to? Did he fly from Powell to AC or from AC to Powell? Is he Anderson County football? Or is he Maryville/Alcoa's disruption of the AC/West thread? Hmmmmmmmm..........
  8. Just want to wish Coach Coatney good luck in whatever he chooses to do next. As an AC fan, playing Fulton, used to be one of the highlights of our football season. It has NOT been the same since ...... Both of my sons think the world of him. ON AND OFF THE FIELD!
  9. Good idea...let's DO get back to Maverick football.( Kitty Cats will be home this week! They are for all intense puuuuurrrrrr-poses, HISTORY, done, Ka-put, finito, finished, old news, etc. this season!) The way I see it, the defenses on both teams (AC vs West) will be/make the difference. I just hope we're still mixing it up on the run vs. the pass.
  10. I agree with you about Lowe doing the right thing, osunut2. Not always the easiest road to take. That being the right road. He has my respect for that. 99.99999 percent of the football coaches in his position, I'm sure would have taken a different road. At the end of the day, however, the main concern should ALWAYS be about the kid NOT the player.
  11. BUMP! (92D is a class act, but don't tell him I said that! I just LOVE to get under his Dragon skin! hahahhaha!)
  12. We'll face an old friend this Friday, in Coach Rang. He's got his defense playing lights out this season. Will be interesting to say the least!
  13. Powell was definitely the team to beat this season P93. I have to wonder as one poster already has, if Mobley playing would have been the difference or not. I felt all along even tho Powell's rb's were dangerous, the qb was deadly. Who knows? I hope Mr. Mobley realizes the impact his behaviour had on his team, coaches, and community. I hope he learns from his mistakes and becomes a better person through this. I hope he returns full force next year and SETTLES the question of whether or not his presence would have made a difference this past Friday night. Good luck to him. That being said, AC CAME PREPARED. The offensive and defensive lines were awesome. The coaches put in their time, did their homework, came out successful. Kudos to Hutson, McCoy, and Mayes. WAY TO RUN THE BALL!!! Loved the way Gillum mixed it up. One defining aspect of being a GOOD coach is the ability to adjust. Great job on achieving this on BOTH sides of the ball AC. Marlow and Shelley were forces to be reckoned with this past Friday, played lights out! Great job by ALL! Truly one of the most FUN football games I've ever attended!
  14. How's this for some reverse reverse (yes, I meant to put that in there twice) psychology....GUESS THE JOKE WAS ON YOU, HUH?????
  15. Hey IrishBBall...How ya doing??? You know I'm definitely NOT an IRISH fan, but I hope you guys put it to Columbia Friday night. Good Luck! ....OMG, I can't believe I just said that! SOMEBODY pinch me and WAKE ME UP. I am SOOOO having a nightmare!!!
  16. I'm confused, also, Colonel...... Mavericksinflight??????????
  17. WELL SAID, MHS! My sentiments, EXACTLY. THANK YOU, VETERANS!
  18. I know this is not the most popular statement to make...but here goes. Let's hope Gillum DOES NOT roll Wms out. He's too slow. That was my meaning to my previous reference comparing Wms to Price and Longmire. Williams IS NOT a mobile qb. Yeah, he can throw the ball 70 yards. (Kudos to Wms for that). Williams strength does NOT lie outside the pocket. (Yeah, yeah General First Class. I know I am BASHING the kid again. I DO NOT support the Mavericks and I am a dirty low life scum that crawled out from underneath a rock somewhere...oh,well!) But, who knows? Maybe they practiced THAT this week!
  19. Bump! 92D...I respect your loyalty.
  20. Every dog has its' day. There's a season for all things. New blood is not always a bad thing. Doesn't mean coaches aren't good guys. And sadly to say, in football, IT IS, "What have you done for me lately?" The sad reality sometimes is that you're only as good as your last GAME, let alone last season. Just my 2 cents worth. Good Luck, Clinton. I sincerely do not want our rivalries to vanish. This last game was just NOT "like it used to be".
  21. Hamburglar, FYI, yes we do have soccer moms at AC. And darn good ones I might add. My money is on them anytime! Am not a Catholic fan by any means, but WOULD LOVE to see them BAKE some cupcakes come Friday night. GO EAST TN TEAMS!!! GO MAVS!!!
  22. I don't want to start any trouble or anything,MM, BUT........I'd LOVE to see some of our soccer moms and/or fans KICK BBB's butt! (get it ? KICK...SOCCER....I just felt I needed to clarify that statement for BBB!) hahahahahaha I Don't care who you are right there, THAT RIGHT THERE'S FUNNY!
  23. Yeah, it'll be a shame to see one of these teams stay home after this Friday, 92D. I agree with you about AC having to play the perfect game. It'll be tough. I know AC's defense will be better prepared for Powell this time. And you are right. It's the playoffs...anything can happen. Would love to see AC REPRESENT. It's funny. No one thinks (I'm speaking of mostly colleges) that east Tn hasn't any football talent to recruit. I, personally, would rather go see AC and Powell play this Friday night, as to go see any college closeby (Tn) play on Saturday afternoon. We might not have a "large" pool to draw from but I'll take east Tn. High School Football.... OVER ALL!
