  1. RReed, as I have done in the past, I COMMEND you wholeheartedly for taking up for your son, he is a good kid and a good ball player. TRY not to let those who speak negatively get to you. For evryone ONE of those fans, there are MANY, MANY more who don't feel the same. Keep giving your son positive feedback. Go OWLS!!!
  2. I agree 100%. No offense taken. The kids do need someone to stand up for them. No need for you to shut up, I just wanted you to know that some people get carried away. Go Owls!
  3. Pepvol, As for this Ooltewah fan....apology accepted. On behalf of all fans, just understand that we ALL love OWLS football....good or bad. Some just live, breath, and eat football /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> I truly think they don't mean to downgrade our quarterback...they just get "worked up". Don't get me wrong, I hate to see anyone bad mouthing a kid....but I'd be willing to bet that these "bozos"(your name for them), would also be patting him on the back for a good job...after all....he is an OWL! The community just loves football, and after the CRAZY season we had last year, with multiple problems, it is refreshing to have a team that gets along so well. The fans support this team win or lose (just don't read the post when they appear to be negative) However, I appreciate you trying to stick up for the QB and the team. Go Owls!
  4. What a great show of school spirit!!!! Good luck to your team tonight!
  5. Just two more days til OWL football. Hopefully the rain will clear out before game time. However, wet fields always concern me with the potential for injuries. The Owls have been practicing hard this week. Trust me when I say that the farragut game is no longer on their minds. Owls by 14 /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. I have not seen Soddy play this year......but have read alot about them. They are on a mission, just like Ooltewah. I say Soddy takes this one from Farragut in a nail biter.
  7. We have some amazingly talented athletes again this year. It is only our execution on the field that "is sometimes lacking". The way we played against Farragut is the team I'd like to see for the remainder of the season.... however far that takes us. If we can stay focused and play with intensity it will be our year.We truly have some talent this year.
  8. I think you are misinterpreting. MOST fans are not cocky, just excited to talk OWLS football. The OR fans are obviously dealing with some problems and not interested in talking about the game. I still suggest satying on that thread and talking about strengths and weaknesses amongst ourselves. The Owls really looked good Friday and for the most part I think everyone is healthy. Let's stay focaused on OR...one game at a time.
  9. Bldrunner, I am sorry your team is having a "bad" year. As hard as it may be under the circumstances, stay positive for their sake. Get them motivated to play a strong Ooltewah team this week, You can not fail unless you stop trying. Both the Owls and the cats need to stay on focus. You never know on any given friday what will happen. Go Owls!!!
  10. I am looking forward to the Soddy game. However, lets keep it to the OR game first, even if we have to talk amongst ourselves on that thread. Jumping ahead to Soddy makes us look arrogant.
  11. Are you guys still in 4th grade????? Move on and get over it. The game is over. I suggest both teams "fans" look toward their next opponent and realize this game is in the past now.
  12. The Owls looked like a fine tuned machine tonight. What a great game! Can't hardly wait for next Friday just to watch them play again. They will not be over confident. They will get the job done. Go Owls!!!!!
  13. It did look like a late hit, but their coach going bezerk was just wrong. He was obviously frustrated. What example do he set for his players to be escorted off the field by the police? I know some will get on here and claim "home cooking", but other than that one possibly missed call, I think the refs were pretty consistent. The Owls went out on a mission tonight and they accomplished what alot of people didn't expect. Great job Owls!!! Let's get ready for Oak Ridge. On another note, the band was great tonight and their performance at half time was very good.
  14. I officially nominate you for the Presient of ther Owls fan club! You are one of the few fans who make sense on this message board. I am probably one of the biggest Owls fans in town, but I understand that you have to execute....the coach can not do that for you. The Owls just need to come out and give it their best shot. They can win this game. Play with your heart and play every down as if it were the most important. Go OWLS!!!!!
  15. Ok, I am back from my absence on the board and at the game Friday night. Sounds like I missed a good performance by my Owls....wish I could have been there. Now, as far as the farragut game goes.....(rain chance is down th 20% now). Ooltewah CAN and WILL win this game if we are working on all cylinders. By that I mean our "A" game must be on, nad from what I hear, we are doing quite well in that aspect right now. In all likeliehood we will depend on our running game, which can work with the way our o line plays. Our key to winning wil be to stop the pass game from Farragut. The Owls are wanting this one real bad and I see no reason to doubt that they can take this one from Farragut. Owls by a field goal....John Long will be our hero. On another note......last year was such a good game when we traveled to Farragut. The crowd stayed "in the game" for the entire game. I challenge our fans to cheer the team on....let them know we support them. The team really does "hear" the crowd. Let's make some noise and show the team how much we love OWLS football. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  16. TPoole....good luck to the gov's this week. I think you wil get a victory, even if you do have additional injuries. Go Owls!!!
  17. I wish I could be there. Don't overlook Heritage and keep everyone injury free, but I can't wait til the Farragut game. We might just surprise some people. Go Owls!
  18. Maybe Whites Creek got a slow start losing to Ooltewah, but after seeing Maplewood a couple of weeks ago, I'll take Maplewood by two touchdowns. They are a very strong team, and their record unfortunately doesn't show it.
  19. It is my understanding that #5 got injured. I don't think they conceded. I think they were frustrated. They band arriving late irritated me as well. It's not like we were playing very far away. I can't attend Friday night......I'm depending on you guys to post on CoachT as soon as possible after the game. I will be experincing symptoms of Owls withdrawal by then /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Go Owls! One game at a time!
  20. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend Friday night. I haven't missed but a couple of games in the last 5 years, but duty calls, and I won't be able to travel to heritage. I will have my laptop so somebody beeter be posting some game information! Heritage's record is not good, but that doesn't mean they are not a good team. What should we expect? Good Luck Owls! One game at a time!
  21. It's all good in Hooterville. Just the time of year for some to air out their grievances. Owls WILL go deep in playoffs.........last week is HISTORY. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> GO OWLS!!!!!
  22. back to the topic of Owls football please. So the Owls looked good at practice? That's good to know. The weather should be great for some friday night football action. From what little I've seen this week, they looked good to me as well. Confidence plays a big part in a game.
  23. As I said, just watched for a short time. And I won't ask, I trust the coaching staff.
  24. I don't know about yesterday, but I saw alot of dropped passes for the short time I saw today. They were good passes....the receivers were not in sync. Gino was at practice. Also, saw 3 different boys passing????!!!!
