  1. my mistake you are right it was South Gibson. Sorry and in my post I ment to say, the only team in our district that had a chance of beating CC was Camden.
  2. Without a doubt injuries can devistate a teams ability to perform ut to potential. The loss of Potts in the in their first game could have been a severe setback for CC but some others stepped up. I think CC with potts has a great oppertunity to go deep in the playoffs. They will go undefeated this year. Other than Fairview, Camden is the only team in our district that could beat them.I have all the respevt in the world for CC. Last year when they were not given a chance in the playoffs, I knew they were tough enough and good enough to win their first game and I really thought they would win more. This year they are tough but when CC makes their run this year tjry will have to step up. Work on Pass defense. With the loss ot Tanner Hudson for the year Camden took a major blow. When Camden played CC the # 2 quarterback was out with a concussion and not allowed to play. Hudson went down in the first part of the first quarter. Camden led 12 to 0 at that time. Hudson was always good for 7 to 14 points through the air and 7 to 14 on the groung without the running game of our backs. By the way he will not play High School Football again an it is believed that he may not be able to play College ball either. With Vick out who was also our best pass defender and #2 QB and Hudson out, we lost not only an outstanding QB and field goal kicker. punter and Kickoff specalist. Camden played an outstanding game on defense for 3 1/2 quarters. Even the prows cant play defense the whole game aganist a fine team and not get tires and give up some big plays. With 8 minutes left Camden still led CC 19 to 9. At that point Potts Came in. Now he is hard to handle anytime. almost impossible with a defense that has been playing almost constantly since midway through the first quarter. With the insertion of the 3rd QB who did a good job undre the circumstances, Camden was severely handycapped. Believe me I am taking nothing away from CC. They have a fine offense and a good defense but work on pass protection. That'e the only real weakness I saw in our game with them. Most High School teams have that problem. We hope to get to Milan in the playoffs and hope to beat them . I will say this With Vick back we are a much better team than CC faced in the last 3 quarters of our game but Vick is not the same calliber of QB Hudson was. Be very cautious of Milan. They took Peabody for granted and got beat. Huntingdon took West Carrol for granted and they got beat. Huntingdon is the CC of 1A. A very run oriented team and always hard to beat. Milan bear Huntingdon. This goes to show that on any given day, anyone can be beat if not careful. I think Cc wil go deep in the playoffs but id don.t believe anyone will beat CAK or Alcoa. Good luck to you guys at CC . You have a fine team and Potts is a monster of an athlete. Please overlook my spelling I am not very good at typing and do get ahead of myself sometimes.
  3. CC has a quality program and won the game. Glad to see Potts able to play again. To update Hudsons condition. He's in the ICU at Baptist in Nashville. Has a Laserated Spleen and has been running a fever believed to be from blood draining into his stomach. If all goes well and the fever subsides he may get to come home today. Have been told by coaches that there is an 80% chance that his spleen will not have to be removed but he is through with football this season. May be able to play Basketball if everything goes ok. I'm sure everyone prays for the best and a speedy recovery for this young man. He is an outstanding QB and kicker and will be sorely missed in Camdens program.
  4. CC does have a great oppertunity to go undefeared overall and will go undefeated in district play. Stewart, Waverly, Creek Wood and Harpeth will not beat CC. Don't know anything about Jo Byrnes but I believe they will have to bring the house to beat CC. Yes, I am a little biased when it comes to Camde., Camden if healthy is an awsome team to deal with. When healthy no running orented team will beat the easily. The Defense and Offense are both important parts of the game. Camden has an awsome runner and hard hitter in number 35 and a fast elusive back in number 22. Don't remember the CC backs name that carried most of the load for CC but he is a very good ball player and nothing needs to be said about Potts. Great player. Camden has a very stingy Defense. Nazi is a Beast. He spent almost as much time in CC backfield and the running back did. Now as to the touchdown pass and the run by Potts in the 4th. That was 14 points. CC beat Camden by 10. They were the deciding factor in CCs win. And of course the holding penelty that negated the long run by Camdens number 22. All factors of the game and any game played on any given night in any given ball game. CC won the game and that is what is important to CC. Camden lost the game due to inexperience at QB but I gurantee you he got some valuable experience against CC last night. It's hard to bring in a new QB that has had very little experience with the Varcity team and expect him to play like a Junior or Senior with experience. He did as well as could be expected under the circumstances. One other thing before I quit rambeling. Even as good a defense as Camden has, It is very hard to keep the opposing team from scoreing when they consistently have a very short field. CC had a short field most of the night after Hudson wen down due to fumbles and interceptions but all part of the game. I believe Camden was on Defense most of the third and forth quarters. That makes for a long night tword the end of the game. Congrats to CC on a well played game and good luck the rest of the Season.
  5. I wasn't knocking CC when I said Camden would have put up 50 if Hudson has not got hurt. CC played a good game but he put up two TDs in the first 7 minutes of the game and one of those in severe pain. Who on either tean really believes Camden couldn't score 4 or more in the next 3 1/2 quarters if healthy. CC is very good against the run but not very good against the pass. Congrats on the win. again it was good to see Potts playing. He is too good a player to be on the sidelines.
  6. Football is a physical game and CC was physical but mostly in the 4th quarter. That is what won them this game but there are a few factors that come into play also. Number 0ne, Camdens best corner and their backup QB was hurt last week in the game against Westview, Concussion and couldn't play this week. The two passes that CC scored on would never have happened had he been playing. Factor 2, Tanner Hudson, Camdens QB going out in the 1st quarter with a rib muscle injury. Tanner in, 30 more points scored by Camden. Tanner out as he was seversl fumbles and to interceptions with the 3rd string QB in. Which by the way kept the Defense on the field the majoriety of 3rd and 4th quarter with very little rest and in the last 8 minutes of the game CC puts up 20 points. Tanner in, Defense a lot fresher and CC moves the ball like they did in the first 3 quarters. factor 3 Potts, CC couldn't have won this game without him coming in. He made all the difference in the 4th quarter. Potts is a great athlete. I see no one from here on out beating CC but I gurantee you a healthy Camden team would have put up 50 points on CC tonight. Injury is a part of the game and CC has had their share. Camden now has had their share also. Good game CC and we hope to see you in the playoffs. If we do that will mean we both made a deep run.
  7. Absolutely looking forward to this game. We pray for an injury free game on both sides. From what i"ve seen of the officials here this year, (the Camden games), not much has been missed. A hold here and there but not much else. Hope that stays true for all the games this year. I believe Camden has as good a defense, all around, as I have seen since my return to Benton County. I do know they have a very fine passing game and good running game. Really better ballenced than I have seen in a while. I know that the boys come ready to play every game and I have no douby CC is the same way. CC has fielded a very tough team every year Camden has played them and I have no reason to doubt that that has changed. Their record reflects their readiness and toughness. Looking forward to an excelent match up tomorrow night. Thanks howdoitknow2, good Catfish is not always easy to find. Until tomorrow night. Go Lions
  8. Can't say enough about what I have seen from Camden this year. Was totally suprised at the way the Lions shut down Westviews offense. Camden has a very good offensive plan so far this year. Well executed. Recievers don't worry about hits, you are going to get them and don't run before you get the ball. D line doing a fine job. Now, Cheatham County was tough last year at our house. Is there anyone out there that thinks they won't be tougher this year at their house? Not me. Like Camden, they've been on a roll this year and like Camden they'e been tough in the trenches. Camden will put up som points in this game. Hopefully a lot of points. CC will put up points in this game. Hopefully not as many as Camden. First time I saw CC play was 2010 in what has been refered to as the mud bowl. Both teams played a good hard game. I expect the same this year. Sorry about Potts, a very fine athlete. I know he is missed but still CC is playing some fine football. Looking forward to this game. I believe the winner of this game wins the division and could very eaisly go undefeted. As always I pray for an injury free contest. Lord willing I will be there cheering the Lions on. lions-41 CC-35 .
  9. So sorry to hear about Potts. He is a competitor and a heck of a good football player. We all pray for a speedy recovery.
  10. Haven't seen the Cubs play this year but I saw them (this team) play last year. They were tough then and there is no reason to believe they will be any different this year. Potts, when healthy is a force to be delt with and I believe CC still has that big tight end and a running back to contend with. As with other schools, when you go to someone elses house, you are automatically at a disadvantage and CC is no exception. In 2010 Camden had some fast running backs and a pretty good QB who was mighty fast but that CC mud slowed them and CC down. Hope that won't be a problem this year. As always I pray for everyone to stay healthy and injury free. Good luck this week Cubs. Will be at your house on the 14th if the good lord permits.
  11. So far Camden has been impressive on Defense and good on Offense but the quality of opponants to come, Westview on the 7th, Cheatham Co. on the 14th. and Huntingdon on the 21st will show a better picture. In the first two games wiih Lipscomb and HollowRock-Bructon, the defense spent as much time in the backfield as the QB did. Several tackles for loss and QB sacks. So far they have out scored their opponants 62 to 7. Their running game is solid and they are throwing the ball a lot more. Camden QB Tanner Hudson has a rocket arm. If the recievers can catch the ball they will be very hard to beat. Hudson throws so hard that sometimes it's hard for the recievers to hang on th the ball. Along with being the QB Hudson also kicks off and if he wants, is capable of kicking into and through the endzone, a fine punter and capable of 35 to 50 yard fieldgoals. Not many players playing Iron Man this year so they are better rested in the final quarter. So far they have shown a pretty solid football squad. Their next three games will test their resolve though. If you play Camden you better come ready to play.
  12. Didn't see either game. Being a Camden fan I hesitate to travel that far unless Camden is playing. That being said, when CC came to the lions home last year, they reall impressed me. They play hard and played all 4 quarters. I look for it to be hard for anyone to beat CC this year in the regular season and believe barring any major injuries, for CC to go deep into the playoffs this year. A lot of teams underestimated them last year and paid the price and they made a descent run into the playoffs. Have never seen Sycamore play but with the seniors that CC has returning this season you better look out. Looking forward to seeing you guys in CC soon. Hope it is not a mud bowl there this year. Good luck on the season except against Camden.
  13. I think as TenOC says if Camden doesn't come out flat, and they have (last yeat as an example), this should be an easy win. You have to consider thought that Bruceton always plays hard and harder against Camden than some others. Coach Blow will not run up the score if he can help it but you know the kids, they like to score when they can and especially the underclass players. Camden wins by 21
  14. Cheatham Co. with the returning team they will field in 2012 will be contenders for District champs. They were a hard team to handle last year and should be even harder this year. I look for at the least 7 wins and most likely 8. Don't be suprised if they go 10 and 0 either. We'll see once the season starts. Of course I am a die hard Camden fan and hope to see them win the District but the Cubs played us hard last year in our house and I fully expect them to play even tougher in their house.
  15. swingjuice is Milan fan not a Huntingdon fan so you have to overlook him. Milan is a hard team to handle when running the ball. Huntingdon did it. Not many 3A or 4A teams could do that.
  16. I believe They will find out how good Huntingdon is. Dont think anyone in 1A can give them much of a game.
  17. I think whom ever gets to the final game will have to deal with CAK. Good luck friday night and may the best team win. Praying for and injury free game.
  18. The key to any game is the run defense against the run and the pass defense against the pass. Or vice versa. Iv'e seen CC play against Camden. I made a comment about their defense on the CC, Harpeth thread last week before they played. Harpeth has a good offense mixed with run abd pass. Harpeth fand assured me in no uncertain terms that CC couldn't stop them and that their defense could handle CC. I think Harpeth underestimates CC as the fans for CPA are doing now. Don't. You just mighr get your bell rung. Everything that has happened up to now, what everyone did in the regular season means nothing. This is the playoffs. Don't underestimate a good solid defense and the running game CC has. They might fool you. I think Harpeth scored 7 points against them. You wont beat CC with 7 points.
  19. Great post and I agree with you assesment of Camden so far this year. Never once did I say Camden would beat Milan with the pass. What I said was that Camden had become a much better rounded team offensively this year than last year and the passing game would give Camden a better chance of winning. Defensively, size is all Camden lacks this year. The desire, talent and agressiveness is there. Just not the size. I have no doubt that Swingjuice knows his stuff, none what so ever. I am a clown sometimes but Swingjuice dosen't know me well enough to call me one. It just irritated me a little. Shouldn't let that happen. Each and every fan loves their team. I enjoy high school football and especially Camden. If Camden were 1 and 9 I'd still enjoy and support them. WV is the game Friday night. Not Milan. If Milan should happen I will be there cheering on Camden.
  20. WV always plays better in the playoffs.and especially against Camden. I have a few posts on that Milan Camden thread but if you read those posts there, no one is overlooking WV. Anyone who does that will go home with their tails between their legs. Camdens offense has improved a lot since their first meeting. I think it's going to be a tough hard fought game by both teams and could go either way. We'll see Friday night. I pray for an injury free game.
  21. Again not what I said. You sound a lot like my, well UH, some other people I know. You hear what you want to hear, not what's said. I must be a little older than you. Never learned to use a typewriter so I make a few mistakes. sorry if i'm not perfect like you are. Again like some other people I know who are always right.
  22. Reading comprehension disability is a booger isn't it. In which of my posts did I say Camden was going to come to Milan amd beat you with the pass. Let me try this again and I will try to do it slowly so everyone can understand. What I said was Camden has a better ballenced offense this year than any year in the past 6 years. Camden does not have the size on the line that they had las year. So here we go. Listen If, and I say if, Camden should get by WV and should Milan win Friday night and they do meet, offensively Camden has a better chance of beating Milan than they have in years. Defensively it could be a long night for Camden. Camden has the talent and the desire but not the size. Now I hope this will clear everything up so that it can be understood. I know sometimes a clown has a hard time maling brilliant people understand what they are saying.
  23. Correct, neither team could advance. I look for WV to be a handfull for Camden. They always have been in the playoffs. Camden lost to Huntingdon. Couldn't overcome their defense with the wing T. Couldn't run against them. Went into the WV game flat as a board. Got down early. Only went through the motions of football the first 3 quarters.Scored 13 points in the 4th but couldnt catch WV. Now we play again and both teams are vastly improved. The team with the most desire will win this game. I think Milan will have to play a good game but should win fairly handily. Good luck to both teams
  24. What an idiotic reply. Evidently you didn't read my post past Milan is predictable and they are. So typical of someone living in the past. What Milan did or didn't do for the last 25 years is irellevant. They beat Huntingdon a lot in the past but not this year and this year is all that matters. Huntingdon beat Camden this year but Camden scores 13 and that's what Milan scored. Milans game plan has worked for them in West TN throughout the years well. Goodpasture beat them with the passssssssssssss last year. Most West tn teams are running offenses. Milans game plan works well against those teams and Camden is no exception but a team that passes well and often will have a better chance to beat Milan.
  25. Don't under estimate CC. They can be tough and are hard to run on. About CPA winning 3A state championship, I'd be careful if I were you. You only beat Pearl Cohn by 4 points. Throw Smith Co into the works and CPA might have a hard time geeting past the 3rd round if they get that far. If you should get to the finals you still have to meet CAK most likely and you will never get by them. I look for CAK to win it all this year. We'll see though. As they say on any given field, any given night, any given team can win. The Winless Rams beat NO today.
