  1. As soon as Chris got hurt in the 2nd quarter, we started going down hill. When he went back out in the 2nd half with the brace on his knee, they keyed in on that. Everytime he got tackled, they grabbed that leg. Probably why he fumbled. He was hurt and needed to rest, yet they still put him out there. He won't last very long if they keep subjecting him to that. I thought Seabolt had a really good game.
  2. Steele was not the holder last season - James Templeton was the holder for the past 2 years - Steele held for maybe 1 or 2 PATs last year after the starters were out of the game, that was it.
  3. They tell the students to buy cheap plastic instruments for marching - due to the fact that the weather is unpredictable, and nice instruments can be ruined in rain. They are supposed to save the expensive instruments for concert season. So, if everyone followed the rules and used a cheap flute to march with, the issue of warping would not come up. I think the band just did not want to get wet. That being said, I don't see how anyone can say the band is to blame for what happened. That is one of the stupidest remarks I have read on here, and believe me I have read a LOT of stupid remarks.
  4. He may not have a choice in the matter. The doctors may not allow him to play. One of the side effects of mono is an enlarged spleen which makes it more susceptible to injury or rupture. There is also the risk of infecting other players. If he really has mono I doubt he will be allowed to play.
  5. In DB's game last night, when Sevier county fumbled near the endzone, the DB player was standing NEXT TO THE PILE with the ball in his hand while the so called refs were digging in the pile yelling "white ball, white ball". Someone tapped the ref on the shoulder and said, "he has the ball over there". If he had still been in the pile, they would have given the ball to Sevier County
  6. James Templeton left practice today to have a wrist x-ray. Possible broken wrist. Don't know how bad yet. Looks like another one bites the dust.
  7. When the linebacker is closing in on the QB behind the line of scrimmage, and the running back dives at his knees to take him out of the play, THAT IS NOT A LEGAL PLAY. That happened time and time again - ask any of DB's linebackers - ask Zach Fleming.
  8. The players who drew the big holding penalty and the 2 personal foul penalties were all big name starters. They were not 2nd or 3rd stringers trying to get experience. 2 of the calls were good calls, the other one was questionable. There were also flags (2 really big ones) that should have been thrown against OR that were not. Bottom line is, there was sloppy play, coaching, and officiating in the 2nd half. Everyone needs to watch the film and fix the mistakes. On the other hand, Fleming, Templeton, and Mitcham seemed to have fixed their problem with the extra points that they were having last week. They did a much better job last night.
  9. The "coach's vid" is not a video produced strictly for youtube entertainment. It is a real commercial filmed for Diane Hills of Town & Country Realty. At some point it will begin airing on TV and I am sure will run on the Graham Clark Show. She supports DB football and the coach agreed to film the commercial for her. He has filmed other commercials in the past for other DB supporters. Why is this one drawing so much attention?
  10. Obviously you were frightened as a youngster by someone wearing a DB hat. You seem to have very strong feelings about people from Kingsport. We really wish you no harm, and are only here to congratulate Bearden on a fine win, and to cheer a team from our conference as they advance in the playoffs. Well done Bearden!! Good luck next week!!
  11. Name your dream starting line up for next year (using only those kids who are actually on the team - no fantasy players). We'll see how well you do.
  12. David Roop was the JV quarterback this year. Jordan Roop is a senior and played on the line.
  13. We had a play whistled down because the ref was looking at a pile of bodies on the ground while our QB ran down the far sideline with the ball headed for a touchdown. REALLY BAD CALL. The drive stalled, we ended up punting, and we lost the game by 1 point in OT.
  14. I think they want to make sure the kids don't just look at the SH record, and assume the game will be a no brainer. It would be a really easy thing to do.
  15. The DB players have been watching a lot of film, and the coaches are pulling out every press clipping, video clip and sound bite they can find of SH coaches, parents, and players talking about how their number 1 purpose in life is to beat DB. I think our boys will respond with pride and throw it all back in their faces this Friday. They have suffered too much embarrassment this season to let SH come in and win this game without a huge fight.
  16. #47 is leading the team in tackles right now. He is not going anywhere. The defense is fine. If anything needs to change there, it would be to sit 33 down some so he can rest. Maybe they could put 9 in for 33, he seems to be a fair LB, and bring in Sensabaugh as a sub. That would give 33 some rest so he can make a difference on offense.
