  1. So you are saying playing quality teams doesn't get you better prepared for the playoffs? Ask Smith County how that worked out.
  2. I have not seen Milan play this year, but looking at schedules it seems CPA is more battle tested. Milan really hasn't played very many tough teams. CPA has played PC twice, GP twice, and a whole lot of 4a teams, including Maplewood. Each team has one loss. Milan to eliminated 1a huntington, CPA to semi finalist 4a maplewood.
  3. Compared to the first game he was held in check. Agreed the td at the end of the half was not a hail mary. I did not like the call to run it wide with the ball on the 1 yard line on 3rd down. I say two sneeks for the td, but its easy to second guess now
  4. CPA held GP when they had the ball 2nd and goal from the three. Forced a field goal. That was huge. Cranford scored on a 50 yard bomb to end the half. The he caught a pass on 4th and 20 something to set up the first down. They really held wharton in check for the most part. Also, go had offsides and move the field goal up 5 yards.
  5. Wow. What a game!!! Sad to see the cougars season end, but this was a game between two good teams that could have gone either way. Hats off to CPA for making the plays when they had to.
  6. Good one going on in Madison. Both teams playing well on D. Each team has given up one long pass play. Missed extra points have been the difference. CPA has a stopped GP in the passing game, other than a long play, that was tipped. Comes downs to who wants it more. Definatly a momentum changer at half with the long td pass.
  7. GP has improved just as much on Defense as Offense. Yes, the first four games were terrible. New starters trying to find their way. Since then they have been pretty good. Westmoreland- 14 pts in 4th on subs Lipscomb- shut out White House- 22 pts, good 4A team thats still playing Sycamore- 7 pts in 4th on subs McGavock- 6 pts on starters, 6 in late 3rd on subs when score was 41-6 Greenbrier- 6 pts on starters, 20 in 4th against subs, one td was a pick 6 by GP's back up QB. Grundy- scored 6, wasn't there so not sure what quarter they scored. Granted first several games were against better competition, but that shows marked improvement. On a side note, if we kick to Wharton, we are dumb:)
  8. GP had no answer for Wharton in week zero. Part of that was that they had no film and didn't know how CPA would utilize him on offense. Also the whole coaching staff was new, so GP was going in blind. I don't think CPA will score 35 again. That being said: CPA has been great on D. That alone should make this another great one. To CPA fans: What is the biggest difference you have seen with this CPA team, who could easily be undefeated right now, vs. Matthew's teams of the recent past?
  9. Well we all knew this matchup was coming. So let's hear it. Is this the year CPA gets over the hump and gets by GP in the playoffs? I will say that GP is firing on all cylinders right now, and CPA will not see the same team they saw in week 0. I'm sure CPA has improved as well. It seems like cpa and gp have about three coacht posters, so let's all six talk it up this week.
  10. GC doesn't know what just hit them. Blow out so far. Reynolds too much.
  11. Both. The qb is a dual threat and makes good decisions throwing the ball. They run the wing t with several quickbacks. I believe one of GPs running backs was ejected and will have to sit this week.
  12. I would be shocked if this were a close game. GP is playing really good football. The defense is playing well. Greenbrier scored 21 on the backups. That game could have been ugly.
  13. I am GP fan/alum. CPA has had several great teams the past few years, but it seems they always lose in the first round to GP so nobody knows about them. As a GP fan, I want no part of CPA this year until later rounds. I agree with you on Wharton being a big suprise to GP. They had no answer for him. Sorry to hijack the thread.
  14. This could actually be an good game. Lipscomb has turned it around at the right time, and CPA seems to have cooled off after a great start. Earlier I would have said CPA by 28. I still think CPA has better athletes at the skill positions, and their defense has been great. So I say CPA 21-DL 14. p.s. It would be a shame for CPA and GP to meet in the first round again like some of the projections are showing.
  15. Looks like gp is finally hitting their stride on defense. Glad to see it.
  16. Milan is no where near number one in 3A.
  17. Looks like somebody is a pretender...
  18. Its hard to say GB is getting better. They were taken to the wire by a WHH team that lost to JB by 50.
  19. Macon is no White House Heritage. MC 28 GB 7
  20. Should be a great one. I think GP may have finally turned the corner on defense this past week. Granted DL is way down this year; I saw some intensity that hasn't been there thus far. White House appears to be a good team, this one is for the region. My pick GP 35 WH 30.
  21. Two off the top of my head from Goodpasture: Pat Turner USC/ Dolphins Marcus Buggs Vandy/ Bills
