  1. Just wanted to give a big shout out to zach vann and his family. Zach is a very hard worker and will over come this set back in his career. To zach i have truely enjoyed watching you play high school football and i know you will never play high school ball again but you are one of my all time greats pound for pound. For those who dont know his situation zach was the biggest play maker a yr ago for knox catholic and he paved the way for the irish through 10 games as they won all 10. Then the first playoff game last yr he tore his left acl and then worked his butt off to be 100% only 4 months after surgery. the week before the morristown west game last week he was running a 4.48 forty he then got offered by the air force academy last week and then friday he started off the game great and then he tore his right acl and lcl. from everyone in the irish family zach we love you and you will be one heck of an athlete at the college level. keep your head up and as coach pemberton said "THIS SEASON IS FOR ZACH VANN" WE LOVE YOU ZACH
  2. ha first of all i have not really wanted to watch this yr except when they were on tv...i just watched the game film on cobb vs cak...ichange my mind tottally he is a great athlete and is going to have a bright future and wish him the best and i think he might not play qb at an sec school maybe vandy but i wish he would go to west virginia bc that offense would be great for him...i would love to see ut turn their game around and put someone like him at qb bc they need some more explosiveness on offense...as far as joey vs randall haha look at how many D1 players he had...get real joey will never ever play on the level cobb will...once again sorry for my ignorance
  3. i was wrong about that he did run that in the pros, but still you can not compare the two...and i have nothing against alcoa other than they do not play anyone but maryville...put them in 3a and throw scott county in region 1 and then see how they fair...by the way where is sommers going to end up i have a family member who knows him but they say even brian doesnt know what he is going to do...is he thinking prep school or juco?
  4. brent schaffer is pretty fast... and cobb is not on the same athleticism level as schaffer and that is a fact
  5. ha please tell me what i have to prove to you...i am just stating facts that i know and what statement are you referring to about vick? and if you noticed i worked out with wilson...that would make me a little older wouldnt you think or do you not pick up on things like that...i am just voicing my opinion on cobb and yes i do know cobb...do i know him well of course not...i have only been around him once but i got a very good feeling about him...and just because you are fast does not mean some sec team is looking at you...and i didnt go to an sec school and i have graduated and moved on in life...but i do keep up with these things in this area because this is where i grew up...as for cobb i hope he does great but i do not think he is able to play at ut...but with hard work and the right attitude he can do it...but not in the next two yrs
  6. if you know anything about football a true and i say true 4.5 is fast...go work out with charlie petrone and see what cobb runs...i know from experience...gibril wilson ran a 4.63 the same day i ran a 4.65 with petrone...i go to the same combine wilson goes to and he runs a 4.54 and i ran a 4.59 and that is laser timed speed and it doesnt get more accurate than that....cobb may have speed but i promise you he does not compare to micheal vick in any way or fashion vick ran a 4.19 forty time????? that is faster than any quarterback in the history of football...he might be left handed and fast and elusive but to be compared to vick you have got to be kidding me...that has got to be the worste comparison i have ever heard...i like cobb and he is a heck of a kid but to say he is going to be great at ut no i dont think so but this is my opinion...a lot of people thought chris donaldson was going to start right away as a freshman this yr and be great...well from my understanding kevin simon says he is garbage and wont see any action for a while...cobb has what it takes to play at the 1aa level and maybe at a less competitive d1 school not in the SEC....and as for a forty time anyone can be fast on a hand timed forty...and on the track but you watch the nfl combine and tell me how many players actually run under a 4.4 even a 4.5...i promise you not very many and if you think rivals is correct think again...i went to athens at the nike combine and i ran a 4.42 and the best time was a 4.34 and they were hand timed...gladly i knew better than to think i was that fast but if devon hester can barely run under a 4.4 in the nfl combine then something is a little screwed up...ps reggie bush ran a 4.37 at the nfl combine and we all know how fast he is
  7. if he was so good why wouldnt someone like the ole ball coach go after him?? he likes athletes...he was after brian sommers he must have not thought the qb throwing to him wasnt very good or he wouldve offered him a scholarship...by the way an 11.1 is decent speed maybe good speed for a qb but i promise you that an 11.1 will not impress any college coaches looking for speed in an athlete there are plenty others out there that run faster than that...bottom line one he will not sign with ut they are just trying to get some commits because a 2-9 team is kicking everyones butts in recruiting right now and not to mention miami is right in the mix with georiga tenn will have a horrrible class this yr but their recruits from last yr will help them be very good in the upcoming yrs
  8. my reasoning for cobb is he isnt close to as good as the other athletes UT recruits...cobb would be great at a appy state or at a west virginia....at UT are you serious?? some other 6'6 QB would take precident over him and a 4.3 forty wr would be better than him and a 6'2 wr would be more ideal than him and then at DB he might survive but he isnt what ut likes at safety...exception heffney is 5'10 but he has GREAT speed...to me he is not and maybe could be a good player but not at ut...at the high school level and considering who they play...he is a great player but put him in a tough class and faster players tough game after tough game...sorry he wouldnt have the stats but he would be better off for college
  9. like rogan? whats that supposed to mean??? if you watched the game saturday you should have noticed rogan won the ballgame for ut in a sense...now rogan really shouldnt be playing right now and he was only a three star athlete coming out of high school...rogan is lucky to get on the field and he has done a heck of a job when he has gotten the oppurtunity, why wouldnt you want to end up like rogan getting moderate playing time at your best position...rogan was asked at the beginning of the yr what position he wanted to play and he said DB cause he knew he had the best chance of playing if he went that route...cobb couldnt make it at ut he isnt athletic enough to play WR and isnt fast enough to play safety so he might get shoved in at TE or LB but he would have to work on getting stronger
  10. that was said very well, you look at a catholic team and all the great seniors they have...atleast 5 to 10 players will recieve football scholarships including three of them who will go Division one....but among all of these seniors the two biggest injuries were to zak tait and zach vann...with those two out definently hurt the irish more than any ref could or any weather condition could....something to think about though...im glad cozart got to play because he is going to be one heck of a football player...one last note this wasnt the best TEAM in knoxville history...the best team would be still in the hunt come turkey day....
  11. fourth straight actually, notre dame beat them in 04 season 35 34 in ot after catholic beat them 42 7 in the regular season
  12. clean ACL tear no miniscus and no bone bruise should have a fast recovery and he will work hard to come back better than ever...surgery three weeks away good luck zach we love you
  13. this could not have happened to a better kid...he is a great kid and does not deserve this...our prayers are with his family and i know that they are not taking this very well...surprisingly his brother seemed more upset than he did...zach will recover and will come back better than ever he is a hard worker and i wish him the best of luck!!
  14. now now now...lets not get ahead of ourselves...vann did not do anything in the games against AE AC nor fulton...if i remember right ryan walden and phfleger killed all of those teams but vann did have a presence that keep the defenses honest....now all this means is you all get to see cozart #22 yes he is the real deal best runner catholic has just doesnt have any vision but im sure coach is working on that right now
  15. if you all think there is no chance for ac think again they are a very tough football team they just need to learn how to play the pass...the winner of this game might not be seeing catholic they are hurting and may get beat but not in an upset against ae because of the players playing now....both running back might not be playing along with a saftey...zach vann definently wont play torn acl out for the year is what i hear...good luck to both teams and if its close ac wins if its a blow out its cause ac didnt show up
  16. loudon has no chance in this game unless the alcoa bus breaks down, alcoa has way to many athletes and loudon has one maybe two...their qb is barely 5'9"....alcoa by four maybe five and cak can not even think abou tbeating alcoa they have no chance either
  17. always going back to the refs gotta blame something on them, the past two games for catholic have been won by the refs if you talk to the fans on the opposing teams...give it a rest
  18. you have got me mixed up with someone else i am by far not an AC fan just a spectator and i forgot about AE beating fulton in the regular season two years ago they didnt have but one offensive TD did they?
  19. First of all I think that everyone is making this something that it is not, the players respect each other and the coaches really respect each other, the problem is the fans and its probably a bunch of dads with ego problems, this is supposed to be about football so please can we keep it this way. ruse?, fulton is very very good, they have a great scheme when they play KC, the difference last year in the game in the regular season was that fulton made too many mistakes and harrison smith played more receiver than WB, Siler could be a difference maker in the game, the catholic run game is severly hurting on the right side without Zak Tait who in the webb game paved a road for zach vann to run on, he makes running the ball a lot easier for vann(bc vann runs to his side being he is the left WB and tait is RT) the falcons are going to put ten in the box put their best athlete on walden and kennedy and the middle passing game is going to be wide open and the run is never going to be there unless they run the option, and for cobb exploding it may just happen BUT catholic had not given up very few rushing yards but their secondary is very vulnerable........
  20. i talked with harrison smith the other day and he is doing great but he just doesnt know everything mentally to get on the field yet, he asked for the redshirt and they were more than welcome to give it to him and they expect him to start next year, now if they could only find some OL. Rogan is doing great and i talked with him and he thinks next year he is going to see a alot of playing time, he believes he is going to be used more in the return game then on defense but both players are doing what they were expected to do by the coaches and will make spectacular football players one day, and PHOTOMAN i dont really see how anyone has any grounds to say catholic recruits people or gives money away because they never recruited me and they would have never given me any money and yes i started four years there and i have a brother and a sister that will attend there too my mother could have used a price break or money but they are not like that they do not do those things and i was not catholic so that means we paid full price and received no discount, and most kids who go there that arent catholic go because of the QUALITY of people that are there, the education is great and the environment is even better bottom line people always want to take things that are positive and turn it into a negative but thats ok because those are the people that are so insecure that they always want to keep attention away for themselves..... for the ballgame its always a good one but fulton knows this and BUCK told me this in the beginning of the year..."this year will be the best team pemberton will have and i will be highly disapointed in them if they do not win state..." fulton 12 catholic 24
  21. This is going to be game of the year in the KIL by far, both teams have found some new faces to make big plays and these two teams will battle till the end in ever ballgame they play. Fulton is a very up and down team in the beginning BUT****they always finish very strong, catholic is always great the whole season but their luck seems to run out when they need it most. The big keys to the game are how well does catholics defense play and for fulton how well does their QB play. Catholic has had a hard time rushing the ball here of late, and fulton has just been trucking, too early to make my pick but this is definently going to be a great game.
  22. ONLY if caoch graham could ever beat KCHS or FULTON....the playoffs and the end of the year is going to be very depressing for you and all the other roadrunner fans
  23. Look everyone give me an idea of who you think is the most worthy to be a finalist for Mr. Football in 3A, and how does it set up is a player for each section of tennessee get nominated or can there be three east tenn players for one position?? Someone give me some info and tell me who you think is the most dominant player
  24. You sound like a very wise man...this is the best AC team that they have had in about three years and it looks to get better as the year goes on.
  25. The order is going to be irrellivant, but we already know catholic and fulton will be in the #1 and #2 slots and i reallly believe anderson county has a good chance of upsetting AE this week, so i am hoping that AC does win and catholic wins against fulton so i can see AC and catholic play again because it was a great ballgame.
