  1. I played and coached football, albeit a VERY long time ago. I will absolutely tell a kid he is being a pansy if he is being a pansy. That's called the truth and the truth is always tough love. And any team is better off without a pansy, no matter how good his stats may appear to be. What is your connection to the program?
  2. When the almighty dollar becomes more important than integrity and freedom, we are doomed. I guess it has already happened and your statement proves it. No wonder the country is in a mess, money worshipers, whiners and complainers, and ignorant masses listening to the loudest voice only because they have the loudest voice. Thank goodness more Chinese speak English than there are Americans (fact check it and ask yourself why a closed country is bent on learning the business language of the world). At least our kids or grand kids probably won't have to learn another language when a different flag is flying over the white house. We are almost ripe for the picking because of our moral decay. Guess who knows it? The ones learning English.
  3. If the talent is in the halls, it certainly is the problem. Why its there is up for debate. I say they don't have the heart to play the game it needs to be played anyway, so them walking the halls instead of being on the field is not a real concern. You say the talent is in the hall because the coach is too hard on the players. LOD says he is not hard enough on them. You folks are sure a very confused lot. So you want a coach to be a kinder, gentler type? There is a reason there are not many moms coaching football. If junior doesnt have what it takes to survive a tough coaching staff, he can find a place walking the halls with the others that don't have what it takes to play football. The team is better off without him and having a pansy off the team and walking the hallways saves the entire program a lot of headaches.
  4. We all have our opinions. Your's just happens to be wrong and out of touch. Thanks for your attempt to discredit the guy that is closer to the situation than any of us. David is looking through the glasses of the informed and realistic. You are looking through the rose colored glasses because you expect wins without talent and gold balls without players with the heart to win them who are walking the halls. You sound like you are campaigning for Obama. Hope and change. That didn't work out very good for the country either. Only the idiots that wallow in ignorance think that was a good move for America. Take your glasses off, or at least get your eyes checked. Blind ignorance greatly decreases credibility. But, to stop the ignorance and give you what you want, perhaps a new coach is just what is needed. Expect a longer road to recovery when you get what you ask for. Just ask UT how it has gone for them.
  5. Great post from the informed inside. Unfortunately, most on here would rather hear rants from uniformed outsiders. It is a great indication of current American society as a whole that folks will only accept wins from children's games, listen only to the loudest and meanest mouths, find ways to discredit those with the most knowledge and expertise, whine and complain from the outside, try to convince others to whine and complain, insult and berate those that are actually doing the work, and find a scapegoat for everything that is wrong. Ever wonder what is going wrong with this country? A few of you Riverdale folks have been providing great examples.
  6. Kids that roam the hall and don't have the heart for the game to play no matter who is on the staff do not have the heart to win gold balls.
  7. Most who want to see wins and only wins would say no. I have something a little different to say. I would say knowing the decimation of the Riverdale zone would have a drastic effect on the football team at some point, it was just a matter of time. Anyone with a tiny bit of sense and forethought could see this coming from years away and it wouldnt matter who the coach is. It was going to happen, no matter what. Now Riverdale football has a baseline year to grow from. Plain and simple. The politics of redrawing zoning lines by several who had motives other than equitable distribution and transportation of students has taken its affect, Riverdale is figuring out how to cope with it, and the will recover and grow going forward. Knowing that, YES 4-6 is acceptable. A lesser coach would have had a 1 win season this year after a string of 2 or 3 win seasons. Aydelott did a great job of delaying the inevitable as long as possible, but it was inevitable none the less.
  8. "With this it will be my last word on the current Head Coach of R'dale." Care to wager on that little statement? You must be getting worried that he is not leaving to still be insulting him on a message board. He has a record that is better than 90% of coaches that ever blow a whistle. Cue the LOD broken record about the glory days and what IS and IS NOT acceptable in YOUR BOOK!!!...
  9. Give it a rest. Riverdale beat a very good Siegel because Riverdale improved all season.
  10. You are about to get a list of "facts" from LOD. He tends to skew them any way he needs to so he can make himself think he is both correct and justified. Why in the world would anyone need to look at facts when his opinion is far more important? Don't waste your time on him. Its all the coach's fault in his view. Period. He exemplifies narrow minded ignorance perfectly.
  11. When did Blackman play their first varsity season?
  12. The point is, Rankin got out of town because he saw where the train was headed. It doesnt matter if it was his 20th choice. I said the talent is down, not gone. The previous coach leaving indicated it, the opening of new schools guaranteed it, and the more up and down of wins/losses prove it. You want to blame it only on the coach, and you look like a loud braying donkey with your one track loud mouth. And this statement right here "ANY Coach that goes into a season expecting anything less than perfection usually winds up a LOSER! " shows how little you know about coaching and football. You work toward it, but you really never expect it because it just doesn't exist. Only "fans" expect it, and generally look foolish in doing so.
  13. You just gave the reason Rankin left. He saw the handwriting on the wall and got out of town. You don't get off the horse you know is going to win. You get off the one you know is going to lose.
  14. Hogwash. Rankin was all about finding jobs and addresses. He never had a clue about IB and cannot even spell it.
  15. I read about it on here, just like you did. I have no inside knowledge whatsoever. It would be a hoot if its just a bunch of nonsense and he is not going anywhere. If that comes out, I sure hope you are sitting down when you hear.
  16. So he outsmarted you by not moving to Rutherford county? And he gets to leave on his own terms? And all your bellyaching did not do anything but get him more firmly entrenched with the guy that actually makes coaching hiring and firing? No wonder you bad mouth him so much. He has beaten you at every turn. I wonder is he mentions you during his retirement speech and thanks you for the laughs and job security?
  17. i stand corrected. Memories fade quickly when you get old.
  18. There may actually be something to this. Since moving up to 6a, while Maryville has been to the big dance four times, which is very impressive, they have only won the gold ball once, I think. Maybe they actually would get more worn down if they played in a 7aaa caliber district. They do seem to be coming up short at the very end pretty regularly for some reason, playing tougher teams can do that to you.
  19. Now that is just stupid. I made a preemptive strike against you bringing it up because every time your manhood is threatened, you trot out your resume as if someone cares or will be impressed. Its funny that you say "now it is time for him to GO" as if you have anything to do with it. You have been calling for it for years to no success and now that he is apparently retiring, you say "now is the time for him to go." You would be better off saying "oh how I have whined and waited for the day he will go." You are losing it LOD. Lay down and take a nap.
  20. You were negative when they were winning too. And you stink at predictions. But I will cut you some slack. There were definitely some surprises. And I know you see within my previous post about predictions many of the things that you have complained about Aydelott over the years. Its kind of sad when you see it all in one place like that. Shame on you, you old gossipy, complaining, cry baby, wash woman. You have your fans that will come to your rescue, but you have shown how a man of honor should not handle frustrations. That's my opinion and I am entitled to it, just as you are entitled to you opinion of me and of a coach. Difference is I am saying it directly to you as a man should, not crying on a message board for everyone EXCEPT you to see. You and I both know Aydelott doesnt come on here, so perhaps that is why you are so loud. Sure, claim you have talked to him face to face. Perhaps a couple of times years ago at best, but you have hidden on a website and disparaged a hard working guy. And no, you don't need to tell us your name, rank, and accomplishments again. No one of integrity really cares and it only diminishes what sounds like a decent career before your impotent yet harmful words here on CoachT. You have shown the man you are NOW. Coaches come and go and when they are at the helm, that put themselves in a position to be critiqued. But the level that you took it too, often making it personal, is lowly and a better reflection of you, how you think, how you act, how you respond to adversity, than it is of the man you are running your mouth about. And even after all of that, the man will be leaving on his own terms. I have a feeling that eats you up inside, but you will say you are just glad he is going to be gone. We both know that is not true at all. Chew on that a while.
  21. I don't like your one track offense predictions, nor your lack of attention to defense in your predictions. Your predictions are rarely at middle school games and when they are, they are not paying attention. Your predictions only have about 40 players showing up when back in the day, before your predictions, there was well over 100. Your predictions have the once best website now at the bottom of websites.Your metro connected predictions can't cut it in 7AAA. I think I will complain to anyone I can trick into listening about how your are not the right man for the predicting job. When that does not get you removed from your predicting duties, I will berate and insult you on a message board so all of your young followers will lose faith in you. I blame the predictor's predictions for all the problems with these predictions. Quarles makes much better predictions with much less talent. Rankin would have recruited in all the best predictors to make the best predictions back in the glory days. Its time for you to take your predictions somewhere else. You cannot handle predicting in 6A. You are better suited for predicting in a smaller classification, maybe 4A, but no higher. I am so sad to see the state of predictions after you came aboard as head predictor. After years of great predictions, to see the us fall to this level of predictions, at your hand, is shameful and painful to watch. Perhaps it is a predictor problem, perhaps it is a talent problem of the predicted, perhaps the prediction zones changed. I just know I want the predictor CHANGED!!! and I blame it all on the PREDICTOR!!! Lets circle the wagons of negativity and get this predictor out of here!!!
  22. That's a lot of the thinking behind 8 state champions. Please as many as you can and then debate about who the true champ is the rest of the year.
