  1. Miles Cavitt and Jeremy Lannom are very good, football players. Greenfield has more talent than just those 2 though. The Jackets are playing better football this year, and I think Lake Co. will see the difference. The score last week against a very good Gleason team was a little deceptive....game was closer than the score. But, the Falcons are definitely the favorite in this one. BTW, what's with all of this sissy stuff about moving games due to rain???? What's with that? Playing in the rain, snow, sleet, high winds, is one of the things that makes football fun.
  2. If Greenfield's corner could've covered the Perry kid, then the game would've been a lot closer. In fact, it was 13-7 with about a minute left in the half....then bomb to Perry...Jackets fumble kick off....another bomb to Perry...and the halftime score was 28-7. Another time, Greenfield couldnt put the ball into the endzone early in 4th, and if they could've, it would've been 34-20....but, they didnt, and score stayed 34-13. Throwing a pass into the end zone with 1:51 left in the game, up 34-14....with all starters still in the game...with Perry catching his 5th TD pass was a little classless. Coach Lampkins should've thought better about that. Maybe Greenfield can return the favor next year. But, Perry is a great athlete, and he had a great game. Gleason has a good team this year. They'll do well, and they might come in 2nd or 3rd in their district. I really think Huntingdon is the team to beat, with W. Carroll sounding tough. Not too sure about McKenzie this year.
  3. It's hard to say at this point, who'll win the district, but UC seems to be clicking on all cylinders, right now. I know that they've played 2 teams, which are down, but they seem to be laying the wood to these teams. Trenton may be the best 0-2 team in W. TN. They played 2 good teams tough....Milan and Huntingdon. Humboldt has lost big to 2 teams, but the 2 teams they played are very good, as well, Crockett Co. and Milan....but Milan beat them pretty good. Lake Co. is still a mystery. I'd imagine that they're good. They are pretty strong year in and year out. South Fulton has left me scratching my heard....beating Bruceton bad in week 1, then getting beat by giving up 40 pts. to W. Carroll. Halls seems to be very improved, but we'll see how much in the next few weeks. Greenfield seems to be improved, but lost to a good, Gleason team last night 41-13. The game was closer than the score, though. But still, Greenfield played hard and aggresively and looked better.
  4. Halls sounds much improved this year. BUT, UC seems to be clicking on all cylinders this year. It sounds like UC is gonna make a long run in the playoffs. I'm picking UC in this one.
  5. The Warbritton kid is something special. I just wish he'd graduate. lol. It seems like he's been playing for Huntingdon for 10 years. lol. It sounds like Huntingdon's gonna make a deep run in the playoffs again. And, it sounds like Trenton has improved greatly.
  6. This one may get ugly. Dresden should win this one big, if they can get healthy.
  7. Congrats to UC....what a big win for yall... A question...are any colleges pursueing Amber Fair? Also, I've heard that TT Flowers turned down an offer from McMillan to play for UTM? Is this true? and, if so, why in the world would she turn down that offer??????
  8. Congrats to the Vikings and Lake Co. Man, the Vikings were red hot the other night against Greenfield. I've heard that Humboldt shot 90% from the field in the 1st half....90%! Does anyone know the percentage for the entire game? Because, they didnt cool off much in the 2nd half...if they continue to shoot like that, then there wont be anyone that can beat them.... And, as hot as Humboldt was...the Jackets just couldnt hit a shot...we were cold...but, we did have a good year, and I'm proud of our boys. We have a lot of good players coming back next year, as well...and we should have a lot more height, as well....
  9. Also, UC barely got by Dresden tonight 47-46. But, it was a clean sweep by 14A. It will be an all 14A Regional semi final....
  10. Zebra, I hope Humboldt just brings their C game...lol. Also, I heard that Lake Co. only beat Huntingdon by 10 points tonight...I figured Lake Co. would win that one big.
  11. Greenfield beat Clarksburg tonight 76-43. Heath Crouse had a big game. So, Greenfield will be playing in Trenton Monday night. Any other scores?
  12. Who has the lineup for Region 7A? And, what are the predictions?
  13. wow! Congrats Humboldt Vikings....big, big win for yall...
  14. Okay, you seriously think UC had a chance of winning that game, if they'd put a second back on the clock? even 2 seconds? lol..C'mon, they would've had to go the length of the court...in 2 seconds...and it was no way 2 seconds...maybe less than a second...their chances were slim to none after our player hit the free throw... Personally, I think there was no time left...whistle blowing while the horn going off....at the most, it would've been .3 or .4 of a second....no time left for a play.... Congrats Greenfield for winning, even though the refs let UC hand check and chest bump all night long....we won in spite of the pushing of our ball handlers...
  15. Thanks, GCPioneer, for the info. I hope some of you Union City fans will pass on the compliment to this man. He impressed my wife and I.
  16. Greenfield won a big game tonight against Union City 50-49. The game was well worth the price of admission. Greenfield led the entire game....even pulling out to a 15 point lead at one point....but #4 of UC got hot from 3 pt. range, and he must have hit 5 or 6 3's in the 3rd and 4th quarters....great win for the Jackets! Also, I just want to compliment the Asst. Coach of UC...the bigger, black fella. I sat behind the UC bench, and I watched him try to calm down Sisco and the players, and he was the first one to congratulate the Jacket players after the game....he seems like a nice guy and class act. Does anyone know his name?
  17. Greenfield boys played a great game tonight against Lake Co. We couldnt get the 3 to keep falling in the 2nd half, or things could've gotten really interesting. But anyway, the Jackets will be playing UC tomorrow at 4 for 3rd place. I just hope we can stay on the opposite side of Lake Co. in the Regional Tourney.
  18. Greenfield beat Trenton 66-50 tonight.
  19. Except for the Lake Co. vs. Halls, anyone could win these first round games. It wouldnt surprise me if there were some upsets in this first round. One things for sure, all the higher seeded teams better come ready to play in the first round...even Lake Co.
  20. I heard that Dresden girls were as hot as a firecracker, and couldnt miss a shot the other night against Greenfield. But, you have to remember that we've got 2 players down with injury, and one recovering. Our Sr. point guard is just coming off of an injury...our 2nd string point guard, who played a lot, is out with an ACL. And, our sophomore guard/foreward, who plays a whole lot, went down against South Fulton the other night with a knee injury. We're all just hoping that she'll be able to come back for the district tourney. So, Dresden caught our girls a little bit injured. But, they did have a hot shooting night, as well.
  21. Tiger, Lake Co. has a good team...probably the best in 14A. But, when you talk about the Lady Falcons blowing out Greenfield at Lake Co....please remember that our top 2 point guards didnt play that night...they were on the bench with injuries.... I'm not saying that Greenfield would've won that game with our top 2 PG's healthy, either. But, I'll guarantee you that it wouldn't have been a blowout, unless we were just having one of those awful, cant hit anything nights...
  22. Greenfield beat Bradford tonight 65-52. The Crouse brothers, Heath and Hunter, both played a great game. Also, it was good to get Tony Robinson back in the lineup....we've been missing him since the Humboldt game, due to a concussion. You could see the difference with him back in the game.
  23. Greenfield beat Bradford tonight 38-31. Some good news tonight though. I learned that our Sr. point guard did not break her wrist. After the swelling went down, then they were able to see that nothing was broken....just a deep bruise. So, sometime soon, our Sr. point guard will be back. Our Jr. point guard is out for the season though....she had an ACL knee injury.... But, it'll be good to get Haley Rawls back....she's our best ball handler, and one of our best 3 point shooters...
  24. Halls played Greenfield very well the other night. They've got 2 tall fellas, who play pretty good underneath, and they had a fella the other night against the Jackets, who couldnt hardly miss a 3 pointer. He was hot as a firecracker. Cant remember his name or number...stocky, black fella. Anyway, I thought Halls looked pretty good. Of course, we looked like we couldnt get the ball to go thru the hoop to save our lives that night....
  25. Greenfield got beat by Halls tonight. Halls played a good game. But, the Jackets were as cold in shooting as I've seen them this year...could not get the ball to go down...plus, we were missing a starting guard...he got a concusion in the Humboldt game, and hasnt played since... On another note, we knew we were in trouble tonight when we saw that the refs were not like us! We knew the game was gonna be called against us. Just kidding, Redgold.
