  1. With Loudon/Seqoyah renewing their series next year, and the many friends I have in the Madisonville/Vonore area, I often use these boards to keep up w/ the program. However, I cannot figure out why there is always some sort of personal vendetta being carried out. The name of this thread is "Satisfied with Sequoyah Football?", but bickering is all there is. I would like to be able to just keep up with the program, but one has to fish thru 8 pages of personal attacks before finding any real info on the team. Ridiculous and childish. Adults should act better.
  2. No doubt AE will be good again, but next year, as in years past, the best football in Tennessee will be in this area. I think there will be 3 or 4 teams from this part of East Tennessee that are potential championship teams.
  3. Loudon will be one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the state next year for 3A. They lose 1 offensive lineman, no defensive linemen, 1 linebacker, 1 corner, and 1 strong safety. 4 sophomores started this year and gained valuable game experience. Losing # 7 and #22 will hurt, but they have a Brown kid coming in as a junior that is a great back. #13 will be an outstanding QB, and the o-line and d-line should be strong points for the 2009 season. This may be one of the most well rounded teams Loudon has had in years. Of course the road to the state goes thru Alcoa, and these will be premier games next year.
  4. Marion County with all this excitement and confidence? Is Pumpy Tooters coming out of retirement? Ooops. I guess I gave my age away. Good luck to both teams.
  5. Is that the same Wilkerson that started working out w/ Loudon in the summer and then transferred back to Sequoyah. I believe thats the name I had heard the boys talk about.
  6. The Alcoa/Loudon game was one of the more physical games I've seen in a while, great hitting from both sides. But if BB gained 400 yards of offense on Marion then I believe Alcoa can match that and more. Plus Alcoa is not prone to turn the ball over. I hope Alcoa's injuries are minor and everyone is healthy for the semis.
  7. Congratulations to both teams on a good game. Good luck to Alcoa on a return trip to the 'Boro. I think the Loudon defense has something to build on for next year. They played great for the middle part of the game and 8 of those players will be back next year. Loudon loses a corner, a safety, and a linebacker, and teh entire d-line returns. The offensive line returns with the exception of 65. It's hard for sophomores to play with a powerhouse like Alcoa, but the experience they received this year will be priceless. Maybe next year. The downside is Alcoa is young too, so this will be a great series over the next few years.
  8. Make no doubt about it, win or lose we aren't hard to find. The Chief15 of blount county.
  9. If these players play on Friday, then everyone will witness the downward spiral of AE football. No accountability. If I'm not mistaken, when Rankin took over Alcoa he kicked two of the best athletes off the team for being thugs, and staying in trouble. A trophy case full of gold footballs later, and he has one of the best programs around. Up & comers knew to stay out of trouble. This is not some kids making a stupid, kid mistake. This was an organized attempt to commit a felony. How many thousands of dollars have these young men pilfered through the years? What kind of parents would let these kids play after being caught doing something like this? Start holding parents accountable for what their kids do and the parents will keep a closer eye.
  10. I know Loudon is on the scedule for the next 4 years. These should be some classic games.
  11. I can't speak for CAK, but Loudon will be one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the state next year. Like Alcoa, with so many sophomores starting they will only be better with time. Next years Seniors and Juniors were not touched as a JV unit. Southeast Tennessee will be the site for outstanding high school football over the next several years. Maybe somebody will come up with something to slow Alcoa down.
  12. A friend of mine filmed the game and I saw it. There was no interference on the second HV touchdown drive. As for the article in the Johnson City newspaper, I would not call Loudon players out by name if I were the one turning my gear in.
  13. First if you want to throw stones, move out of the glass house. HV took the first "cheap shot" on the opening kick off. Second, if you want to compete in Region 1 with the Alcoas, and the CAKs then you learn in a hurry to play from the time the ball is snapped till the whistle is blown. Third, both touchdowns for HV were aided by penaltys, and the pass interference call on Loudon on the second HV touchdown drive, might be the worst call I have ever seen. There was great effort from both sides, but if you want to call the Loudon kids out, take off the rose colored glasses. How many times did HV try to goad a Loudon player into retaliation? Numerous. I guess if you can't beat em, try to get 'em ejected. Great job by HV on hard nosed, all out football game, and congratulations on a good year, and good luck to the Redskins.
  14. 15 to 3 was the penalty ratio. Loudon was flagged for 5 personal fouls. There was at least 5 illegal procedures, EVERYBODY I talked to said 1 was legit. When the officials let the boys play it was great football action. I would like to see the film and see if I could see what the officals saw.
  15. I spoke with a parent whose son starts for Loudon, a sophomore on defense, and he said his son went out the 3rd or 4th play w/ an injury. His replacement was also a sophomore so it may have taken a few plays to settle in. It was also a sophomore who intercepted the pass in the end zone. After the interception SG was shut down by an aggressive and young Loudon defense. Any team on any given Friday can win, but if Loudon comes ready to play they can come out victorious.
  16. I guess going out and jumping on the big white "L" on Loudon's 50 yard line did not have the desired effect. I guess for South Greene that stands for "LONG ride home". Congratulations and good luck to the Redskins.
  17. Good luck to CAK as well. I believe you all have gotten better as the year has progressed, and I believe Region 2 will be well represented.
  18. I think CAK wins this one by 10. 4 losses when you play in the toughest 2 AA region in East Tennessee is not terrible. Is Kalinski 100%?
  19. Loudon's offense is pretty balanced. Granted they struggled against Boyd, and Alcoa but who hasn't. When the offense is clicking they are effective. Loudon's defense has been stellar at times, and do well against the pass and run. I've heard South Greene is pass heavy, is that true?
  20. Loudon coming off two hard fought losses against 2 of the best teams in the state should be hungry, but I know little of South Green. Who has the scoop?
  21. I am a die hard Loudon fan. I always will be. That being said, Alcoa doesn't have to recruit. If you are talented, and live in Blount County, where do you want to go. Obviously Rankin has instilled discipline and and a solid work ethic in the program. Do I agree with the fake FG. Not necessarily, but now future opponents MUST prepare for that. There was no mouthing from either sides, it was just a hard hitting ball game, and that's what high school football should be all about. Loudon & Alcoa are both young, and I believe over the next couple of years, these may be some marquis games. Good luck to both in the playoffs.
  22. The loser of Alcoa/Loudon will have Cumberland Gap first round. After seeing both teams play, I have to say CAK will take this one by 21 or more. Loudon had a great scheme for CAK, but the Redskins really worked the Tigers over. That game was not as close as the scoreboard read.
  23. This is one of the kindest, classiest, and heart felt gestures I've heard about in a long time. My thoughts and prayers go out to the community affected by this tragedy, and my hat comes off to Catholic High.
  24. Our thoughts and and prayers are with this community and the family and friends this tragedy has impacted. Loudon High School.
  25. The state championship will be when South Pitt and Greenback meet in the playoffs.
