  1. Look at the two regions. They would match better in 3A.
  2. Me to. Not my first but my second. Regardless tipoff is at noon lol. My first plays at 2:00. Enjoy!
  3. I wish him the best also, he’s a good one.
  4. Not saying it’s true but what I was told.
  5. We offered, he declined I was told. Either way didn’t work out.
  6. I’d love to see it happen here. So close yet so far away. Did everything I knew to do lol.
  7. I think it’ll be a good game but Hampton in November is as tough a place to play as you’ll find. Should be a dandy game to watch.
  8. Your field is fine. Not like York has turf or a Jumbotron. Their field is like ours and yours. Nice as it can be and plenty adequate for the task.
  9. Simple, rankings mean zero in playoffs. It’s all seeding and alternating years. Remember York and Hampton are both 1 seeds so equal in the bracket playoff system. Last year or next it would be at York in this same scenario.
  10. Very true. Coalfield has me scratching my head on how good they really are. They could be very good, just waiting to see I guess.
  11. This is as down as region 2 has been in a very long time top to bottom. Region 1 as well both 1A and 2A. Coalfield is a good team but no where near what they have been in recent years. Coalfield, York and Hampton are all clearly the better teams but I’m not sold they’re great teams. Semifinals will expose quad 1 in both classifications in my opinion.
  12. It was a school decision not to play up. There were some that wanted it but ultimately the decision makers decided not to.
  13. I think our basketball coaches are pretty good as well and I think playoffs we will do better outside of our region. Getting to the playoffs in our new region will be the hardest part. We don’t match up well with a lot of schools we’re grouped up with now.
  14. I’m also talking about basketball not football to be clear.
  15. I’ve always heard that but to be honest I haven’t actually saw that to be true. Sure some calls were missed but I can’t say it was more one way than the other. We got obviously held several times with no flag but we also didn’t get flagged several times when we were obviously holding them. Overall it seemed like a good called game to me. A few calls both ways that maybe could’ve been called or not called but the stripes were not a factor last night in the overall picture.
  16. Not TSSAA it was an internal decision. Moving up was discussed but ultimately decided against.
  17. Yeah wish they would’ve let us play up. I think we could’ve competed better a classification up than we will where we are.
  18. I didn’t see yours but the fist quarter for us was an absolute disaster. I’m not saying we rolled after that but that first 12 minutes was brutal. We couldn’t keep from handing them gift after gift. On top of that they just beat us to boot. Bad combo.
  19. If the rule isn’t what I understand the it absolutely would be the correct call. My understanding is if any part of the player is at or behind the line it was ok. His left foot was definitely beyond but his right was not. Totally agree it did not impact the outcome. Between our mistakes and their execution we were had very early in this one.
  20. Don’t know what the issue was but honestly the punt was a deal several weeks in the making. Long story short our long snapper hurt his elbow a few weeks back. He is also one of our sophomore LBs. Last night they had someone else snapping instead. After that snap our usual long snapper went back in so a lot of thing helped the wheels fall off early. Like you said to have a shot we had to play our best game. York sure didn’t need any help and the first quarter we definitely didn’t do ourselves any favors for sure. Either way we’ll learn and hopefully get better from it.
  21. Entire body must be across the line. If a toe is on or behind it’s a legal pass. Look again, nose of the ball is less than 12” from the 35, stripe marks the penalty occurring at the 36. It’s not a conspiracy, we just had very few big plays to Yorks credit, the two we did have both came back in penalty’s. The TD came back on a personal foul penalty against York lol. More of an illustration of how we couldn’t get anything going our way the majority of the night. Again I’m not claiming the officials influenced the outcome at all. The team that should’ve won did win, more of an illustration of how frustrating the game was from our side. Regardless it was a jab at the “reputation” of how calls go over there. I honestly don’t think it’s any different there than anywhere else to be honest. Some crews are better than others and some teams play with fewer penalties than others. It all evens out. More something to talk about because we didn’t have much to talk about last night.
  22. I’ve watched the play a dozen times. Nose of the ball is 6-12” short of the 35. When 1 releases the ball his toe is just short of the 35 by inches. His right foot is on the 34. Rule is the entire body must be beyond the line of scrimmage when the ball was released. The down marker is also less than a yard behind the chains so the previous play was a loss but marked as less than a yard loss. The official that called it stood on the 36 pointing at the ground when explaining to the white hat. Overall it didn’t matter in the outcome but it was not the correct call.
  23. Oh we made a soup sandwich out of our game literally from the opening kick. We got beat no question but about the same result as the first round and they didn’t “work on their passing game” this go around. They’re a good team but they’re definitely beatable.
