  1. Thank you Commandowrestlingfan for the kind words! As much as my boys and myself hate to lose... it does gives us some satisfaction to know that it was to a team with a great tradition and extremlely talented wrestlers and coaching staff! Best of luck to you and all yours in the upcoming State Duals Championships!! To Clarksville... congrats again for a great season. Ya'll have proven once again why you are one of the elite teams in Tennessee! Good luck to all the Clarksville Wrestlers, as well, in the State Duals!! GO REGION 7 GO!!!
  2. At the meeting we agree to a True Second.
  3. Does anyone have an information on this years tournament? Location? Who is running it this season? How do I get my Freshmen entered? Cost? Time? etc... Thank you
  4. I am the coach for Rossview and I have dealt with John Gannon for 3 years now. I would like to go on record and say that I find John to be a highly professional ref! I respect him as a person and as a ref! I am not sure who afan2 is... I can only hope they are not one of my wrestlers and they better hope they are not one of my wrestlers!!!! In my 3 years of dealing with John we have bumped heads on several occasions on a call but that is the nature of the beast... and there has been several calls made on me by him for argueing a call... 99.9% of them I deserved because as a Coach I want my kids to know I am willing to go to bat for them! John if you are reading this I would like to express my regrets that anyone would bring up bad memories from the past. It shows they do not know you as a person or your level of integrity for the sport.
  5. Wow first of all I did not say anything about anyone... This is the Rossview Coach and WrestlingGod I have not posted anything about the matches. If you ask me I think these matches should not even be mentioned at all! It is way to early in the season and as Coach Grinder said a lot of people are not wrestling the weight classes they are suppose to be wrestling, also like me... Indy was missing way to many people to even judge how the evening turned out. Now, had these matches taken part in January it would be a different matter all together but not this early in the season! Next, Christian Tambellini is a very good wrestler and I do not blame him or his coach for not wanting to wrestle someone 33 pounds heavier!! Great decision Christian!! I would not have done it myself!! On to the Caleb Little issue against my 125 lbser... Caleb Little is a proven wrestler and has been in a bunch of matches with some top wrestlers, my 125lbs is NOT a proven wrestler and has NOT been in any big matches with top wrestlers! Now lets put all these issues to rest. The could of, should of, would of... the what ifs... none of it matters!! I would just like to thank Coach Ramsey for the invite.
  6. Hey Coach Mick Congrats on your tourney! I think you and your staff did a great job! My kids got plenty of matches and your hospitality room was superb! FYI I think the only team that left early was Chattanooga Central. Coach Grinder Your boys look really good for being so early in the season... best of luck for the rest... PS I hope you were a Nebraska fan!?
  7. More accurate Rossview 103 Jeremy Gonzalez 119 Cary Miller 125 Ryan Cavin 130 Taylor Cozine 135 Anthony Henry 140 Patrick DeMilia 160 Alex Szczpaniak 189 Yusuf Yunis 215 Tyler Todd 285 Tyler Bond But of course the kids are going to do everything they can to prove me wrong on my predictions cause they tell me they are going one weight class lower than what I predict... yeah right
  8. Rossview should have about 10 to 15 signed up... I hope some of the Nashville teams will be involved in this! As well as some of the Clarksville teams.
  9. Hey Tim and Coach Mick We at Rossview are sorry to hear of the injury! For it to happen his senior year is just no right! We at Rossview wish the best for him and pray for a speedy recovery. Tyler Todd asked me to send a message out to Tim wishing for him the best.
  10. Tariq Yunis is suppose to be Yusuf Yunis his father was in a hurry and put his own name instead of his sons name... just to add on to accomplishments Yusuf Yunis finished 5th in the Ohio Tournament of Champions and he is in the 11th grade. Sorry just had to add that in.
  11. Yeah Coach I would like to get into the Beech Duals on the 28th if he has any openings.
  12. Hey Coach This is Coach Brown from Rossview HS and I would be very interested in setting up a JV match or two in January. I do not have my schedule in front of me right now but I am pretty sure I have both the 6th and 13th of January open so you can pick either date. Both of these dates are on a Wednesday. Or if a Monday would be easier than I have the 11th of January open I would also like to get a few of my JV wrestlers in your January 2nd tourney to fill in some spots if possible. Give me a holler for the date of the JV match you want to set up. Coach Brown Rossview Wrestling bradley.brown@cmcss.net
  13. Is anyone in the Mid-State area hosting a tourney that Thanksgiving Weekend? Thank you
  14. I am looking to try and set up a few JV/Freshmen Matches as well as Tourneys for this upcoming season. I am looking more for the Middle Tennessee area and yes I know it is early but I would like to get some setup anyway... I know about Wilson Central's JV Tourney on the 12th of December is there anyone else hosting anything. Thank you
  15. Now we only have 20 teams in our Region Beech Cheatham Co. Clarksville Creek Wood Dickson Co. East Robertson Fairview Friendship Christian Greenbrier Harpeth Hendersonville Kenwood Montgomery Central Northeast Northwest Rossview Springfield Sycamore West Creek White House I have no idea where the Eagleville or the Page or the Forrest came from? Or am I working off an old copy of the region?
  16. Region 8 and 9 (last year) were combined to make Region 7 for this up coming season and because we do have so many teams in our Region we had our region broken up into 2 Districts 13 and 14. Within the 2 Districts the schools were broken down even farther to Big Schools and Small Schools. So with all that being said I will try and make my predictions for next seasons District and the Regional winners. In District 14 "Big Schools"- The Teams- Clarksville, Dickson Co., Kenwood, West Creek, Northwest. Clarksville is coming off a fantastic season dominating region 9 last season but they will be hit hard next season losing 7 seniors to graduation but they have a great core of kids returning for next season, Brandon Isbell, Hayden Jordan, Ren Baggett, etc (what is the old saying "they don't rebuild they reload"). Dickson Co. has only gotten better the past 2 seasons and this season maybe their year to step up to the plate and get their share of the pie. They will be lead by Greg Shepherd, Jesse Bennett, Hunter Badon and Rakim Talley. If they could find a heavyweight and a 103 they could be the cream of the region. Kenwood is down and out but they are returning a few very good wrestlers, Darion Pittman, Miguel Robles, and Dusty Shaw. West Creek is a starter program (some starter programs have done very well but this one is going to have to grow from nothing), Northwest has lost a few of their key wrestlers which might be costly for them but they still have a good group of kids coming back, Wilford Morrison, Martin Leamon, and Dandre Morrison. This is going to be very close call between 2 schools Clarksville and Dickson Co. but I am going to have to lean toward Dickson Co. however the 103 and Heavyweight classes will play a big part in the equation. District 13 ???Big Schools???- The Teams- Hendersonville, Beech, Northeast, Springfield, Rossview. Hendersonville is another team that is being hit hard by graduation with 6 seniors moving on but they still has a great nuclei coming back, Austin Large, Brett Jaeckel and Nick Newton. Beech is a team that will not be effect by the graduation with only one moving on and with that they should be a very solid team, which will be lead by Jonathan Roberts, Justin Kleinert and Taylor Cash. Beech will have many other wrestlers that will help them out. Northeast will be loaded if they do not get hit by the opening of West Creek. Granted they will be losing a few seniors but they will be a very strong team if they get all their wrestlers back and this will enable them to make a huge splash this season. Springfield is a very young team still but has some good talent coming back Daniel Smith, Jacob Cousins, and Trevor Sparks. Rossview is another very young team next season with only 1 senior returning. They could be competitive if all the pieces fall into place but as we all know ???if??? is a might big word! Rossview will be lead by their senior Alex Szczepaniak, and juniors Tyler Todd and Yusuf Yunis. This is going to be extremely hard to pick because each and everyone of these teams has a good shot at winning this District but since I am going out on a limb to call them I am going to take Beech as the team to beat with Northeast (if they do not get hurt by the opening of West Creek) making a close second. Now when all is said and done in the districts there is still a regional dual and my 4 teams that will make it are going to be Clarksville and Dickson Co. from District 14 and Beech and Northeast from District 13, with my 2 teams moving on to the State Duals will be Clarksville HS and Dickson Co. Of course these are just my picks and opinions so they really don??™t matter but I just thought I would get the ball rolling on the conversation.
  17. Looking for a Dual for November 28th, 2009... thank you
  18. Grinder you forgot Rossview on that list... but if you do not remember me expressing that we will be there... then let me tell ya now... Rossview is wanting to be there also. thank you
  19. Who do I get an invite from for my Middle School team? Thank you very much
  20. I am Tyler Todd's coach and I love him to death but he is not and should not be ranked yet... granted he has wrestled real good this season against some of the top ranked guys in the state but he still needs a little more time. Thomas Berry and Nick White should be ranked higher than Todd. Even though Todd beat White I believe Todd still needs to do some more work before he is ranked along side the state's elite.
  21. What will be the weight Classes for the middle school? Thank you
  22. I am the Coach for the Rossview team and I was there at the match... I am not going to take anything away from Nick White because it was the first time I have seen him wrestle and I am sure he worked very hard to get to the level of talent he is at but Todd was beating him on actual points 4-2 when Nick got hit with a penalty for a crossface that was more a punch (1 points for Todd 5-2), then Nick headbutted Todd (1 point 6-2) and then with a minutes left Nick headbutted Todd again (2 points 8-2) and Nick must have gotten frustrated because this is what the Cookeville coach told me. The Coach did stop the match but only after as he said, "When Nick gets frustrated anything could happen and he did not want my wrestler to get hurt because of it!" Granted Tyler Todd is young but he has been working hard during his offseason period and to take anything away from his is just plain wrong! If you feel Todd is not the Caliber that White is then that is your opinion but the score did not lie 4-2 (before the penalties)! Now for MHCoach's comment about my team getting man-handled against Cookeville he is right... we did! But we are a team of 1st and 2nd year wrestlers with only one Senior (we were suppose to have 5 other senior come out this season but I kicked a couple of them off the team because they did not want to work at practice and the others lives went in a different directions from wrestling)! I am very happy with the way my team wrestled against Cookeville and for that matter all day Saturday against some of the better teams in the State! The future here at Rossview is only looking brighter after each matches that these 1st and 2nd year wrestlers get...
  23. Hamm you are very correct on what you said about "putting in the time during the off-season!" Tyler Todd did work very hard during the off-season as did a lot of other Tennessee Wrestlers and that hard work has paid off considerable this season! As far as Todd's match against Kennedy he was Teched not Pinned and Kennedy is one of those boys you are talking about that worked very hard during the off-season to perfect his skills. And if kids who are Freshmen or Sophomores think it is too late to get to that next tier/level before their Junior or Senior season are sadly mistaken... This is only the beginning of Tyler Todd's 3rd season as a wrestler.
