  1. Another interesting thing about this year at McMinn Central. I just started counting how many athletes in this years class (boys and girls) that have signed athletic scholarships. So far I have came up with fifteen. WOW this is unheard of in a school this small. Also I know of three or four more good athletes that signed academic scholarships instead of athletic. And looking at who's left, there will probably be some more sign later. This has got to be another record to put in the books.
  2. Yea, should have been much more. This was by far the worst called game this year. Reminded me of the final four game at the state last year. Why in the world does District 5 always have the worst refs? Their biggest problem is they look at the score board and if it is a lop sided game, they call for the losing team! I do respect Coach Davis, he always comes with a good game plan but now that Central is out of their mid season slump, they have just too many weapons. With the Adams girl doing what she is capable of now, that takes alot of the double and triple teaming off of Lambert and all the other girls can hurt you at any given moment. 12 DEEP !
  3. Statisticly in a population group the size of girls basketball it is imposible to rank all these girls. So it is pretty much "who you know" and " "where were you seen". Coach and parental advertisement is one of the big selling factors also. So I don't put much stock in his rankings.
  4. I dont know what everybody is barking about. We all know this situation is perfectly legal because Pat Summit did it to Rutgers.......... A good coach will do what ever it takes to win /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  5. The big test will come Friday night with McMinn Central. last time I saw Polk play, they were using their best shooting guard as a post??? Seems Central starters and some of the bench are clicking on all 8 after seeing the Tyner score. But it's always a good game down at the Polk. Any predictions?
  6. Can't wait to see how these ladies do this year with no worries.... (I don't really think they were worried anyway) Great Job ! And Good Luck, Make us all proud !
  7. No feathers ruffled here, sorry to get you so upset. I was not putting UTC down.... I'm a huge fan of Coach Moore and his staff. As you can tell I follow mostly the Region 3 AA teams until later in the season and then focus on the higher ranked teams in all divisions and follow them as the playoffs progress. And as for "National" thats what I was refering to in item 3. Remember... This all started when you got our attention with the "Ha. OK." Nuff said....... Let the other people chime in on their picks.
  8. I have been very fortunate to watch most all these players over the past four years (and more on some) and think they earned what they have been given. I just dont think you can rank them 1 to 10 for several reasons. 1) How far in the season they go and still maintain the focus and skill level without wavering. 2) What classification (1A - 3A) they are playing in, it can be a big difference in competition, crowd size, etc... 3) What other Team mates surround them. I just say all these ladies are very good players and I will probably sell off my UTK tickets and buy the UTC tickets for the 09-08 season and beyond............ I may even zip over for a MTSU game or two!
  9. You really need to watch these ladies perform during the play off season from the district to the state tournament level. That is where you can see what their really made of.
  10. Kylie Lambert - McMinn Central. She can do it all. Runs point and can post up at 5'11".
  11. Good luck on getting in at UTC..... That winning bus is about full.
  12. Let me clear this up. I think the 1st place team should get 4 people and the last place team should get 1 or just give the 1st place team 4 and leave the rest alone. As for who was picked, I think these young ladies were all deserving but the Jordan girl from Central played her you know what off in the District and Region and deserved it as well. As everybody else, I could name about five more of the areas players that should be standing with them.
  13. Don't let the score fool you, the game was closer than that but once again, the deeeeep Central bench was awsome. And yes the Seq. coach seems to be very classy and a very good coach. Hope to see them match up again in 4 games. As for the all tourn. team some ONE picked....... well let's just say it appears it does not mean that much any more. Central should beat York at Central by 10 to 15. At anywhere else by 5 to 10. Congrats Seq. and Central !
  14. AMEN !!! By the way GC P, Im pretty sure McMinn Cental will play (AAA State Ranked at some point) CLEVELAND, WALKER VALLEY, BRADLEY, MARYVILLE HERITAGE and MARYVILLE HS each year........
  15. In AA, Mcminn Central is no where near Nashville. Really now where near anything and in the number uno spot. But I do agree with you. Just look at who votes at the bottom each week. Seq. County should be right up there in the top five.
