Things can change in life so fast....my prayers are with her and the Owlette community.

This used to be very true...but today it's hard to find teachers who want to coach....there are to many headaches. It takes someone who loves the sport and will jump in head first, whether it is a teacher or non-teacher.

According to the TSSAA anyone can become a head coach in the state of Tennessee after they have completed the Coaching Class required and after being an assistant for 5 years, unless they have changed it in the last year.

Bump...anyone filled the final spot yet???

It is easy to see that no one is going to agree and the game ended Saturday.

I have called games and coached them both, I have been in on many rules meetings. Unless they have changed the rules totally in the last year, which they have not, I can bet those three officials will not be working a state tournament again. It was an illegal substitution, and calling the time out does not allow it either. Time has to run off the clock. The only one Gleason's coach could have put back in was the Hudson girl, because he took her out the possession before. Would it have had an outcome on the game, if a technical had been called probably not. But I do not blame Gleason's coach, this is all on those three referees and the official score keeper, I cannot believe that none of these, "professionals" caught it.

From what they said, this is the first time ever that a team did not make a two point field goal in a game..Jackson County was 6 for 24 from the field, all 3-pointers, and 4 for 4 from the free throw line. Other impressive stat is both teams combined were 24 for 24 from the free throw line. Congrats Lady Devils on a great season, good luck in the championship game Gleason.

Well, Jackson County has had a impressive season, but it is about to come to an end.

He may not be the strongest quarterback, but a torn menicus is painful.

True, I wonder how many times a Jackson County team has not made a field goal in a quarter, because they did not in the second.

Gleason has been impressive all season, but the game is a long way from over.

I will believe it when I see it. He was progressing so slow before they were not sure if he would be able to be in the rotation when the season started.

The game will be played tomorrow and we will find out which team is better. Gleason has an impressive resume this season, Jackson Counties schedule is probably the worst in the tournament, but they have one thing that a lot of other teams do not..they expect to win when they get to the Boro, not to say that other teams do not, but most teams the first year or two are just happy to be there. This time of year you can throw records out the window, it comes down to coaching and what type of players you have.

He says he will be back by summer if they do a complete repair of it..if I am correct Robert Meacham had the same injury and missed the enitre season. He needs to go ahead and have the surgery, fix it, and get better no matter how long it takes.
