We are hosting a preseason play day at West Creek High School in Clarksville, TN on Saturday, November 8th. We already have some AAA and A teams, and we are looking to add more teams so everyone gets at least two games, possibly three. If coaches are interested please email coachwilder@hotmail.com.

Clay County will be just fine with Joe Sims. It amazes me no matter how good or bad Clarkrange or Clay County are, it has the tendency to be the tightest and lowest scoring games each team has.

I've been coaching a long time. I've known coaches who do and who do not. I have also known girls and boys head coaches where the girls coach rides the bus to the games and the boys coach drives, and they switch on the way back. I've got a mentor that I look up to. He coached softball in Ky for 20+ years has multiple state titles in slow pitch and fast pitch, has won over 650 games. He always made his players ride back from games, because it gives the players and parents time to cool off after a loss or if they feel their child has been wronged. I have never really thought of it that way until we discussed it one day, and when I become a head coach I will have that rule because it makes a lot of sense. Plus the team should be there for each other, whether it is after a win or a loss.

Wow! I didn't know that Trousdale County was coming up for this. I guess I will be taking in two games now!!!

I hope she does well. She is suppose to be one heck of a recruiter. Hopefully she can keep local talent plus bring in some. The thing I wonder is about, the woman who was the assistant at NC State. She coached while Coach Yow was sick and after she passed. Coach Yow wanted her to get that job, she didn't then she didn't get this one. It just seems something must not be right about her.

I hate to hear that. I have dealt with Coach Chandler over the last 2 or 3 years when they have come to our Christmas tournament. He was a good coach, I enjoyed talking basketball with him. I wish him and the team luck.

I got to watch this tournament..the top four teams..Beech, Rossview, Owensboro Catholic, and Christian County should all make it to their respective state tournaments.

You have prayers from Trigg County High School in Kentucky for this profound and sudden loss. Unfortunately my school knows all to well about losing students, we have lost so many over the last few years. We are preparing for the funeral of 3 students on Wednesday of this week. So let us all pray and remember all those affected by these horrific acts. May God comfort your pain.

I know Amy well, I have worked many camps for her and Worrell. They are not going to fire Amy if she has a losing season this year. Whether the program was on the way down when Bill retired is up for debate. The thing I do not think I have seen addressed yet is, Amy has a different coaching philosophy than Bill. She recruits a different type of player than what he did. Yes, she did have a hand in recruiting under him, but he had say on who they went after.

All athletics will be affected by this, but the ones hurt most will be junior varsity teams. I coach one, a lot of them do not play on the same night as varsity. Not to mention weekend tournaments. Everyone is going to feel the pinch this season.

According to information I have, Sharon is not the coach, yet anyways. They have interviews setup for Thursday with up to 5 applicants. Although I have to believe she is the front runner.

The NCAA has put them on the list as a "diploma mill". Austin Peay had signed two or three of their players. They just released on from his letter of intent, he had attended the high school, but was from NY. I tried to get the link from the Tennessean article but for some reason was going to have to pay for it. So here is the press release from the NCAA. The records from Milestone Christian Academy (Kansas City, Missouri) and Nashville Christian Advancement Academy (Nashville, Tennessee) will not be used when determining prospect student-athletes??™ initial eligibility to compete in intercollegiate athletics. Milestone Christian Academy and Nashville Christian Advancement Academy both reported to the NCAA during the high school review process it uses the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) program as a primary means of delivering education. ACE has its own review process to ensure schools administering its curriculum are doing so in an appropriate manner. Schools administering ACE curriculum in an appropriate manner are given either model or quality status by ACE. The NCAA has determined for high schools that use the ACE curriculum as their primary means of delivering education, those high schools must obtain model or quality status from ACE before the grades of prospective student-athletes will be used to determine initial eligibility. Currently, Milestone Christian Academy and Nashville Christian Advancement Academy have not obtained model or quality status. The review of high schools in the initial eligibility process is an ongoing effort and more than 200 schools have been part of the review process to date. If additional information from either of these two schools is received, the NCAA may reconsider the school??™s status. Students currently enrolled in Milestone Christian Academy and Nashville Christian Advancement Academy must have their individual academic records reviewed to be considered in the initial eligibility process. A determination will be made regarding their NCAA initial eligibility status based on this review of their individual academic record. In 7A you are probably right, but Jackson County and Pickett County will have something to say about that I am sure. There are a lot of good players and coaches in 7A.

There is normally one in East Tennessee, want to think it is in Oak Ridge. I went to it one year awhile back and it was good. I think Nike normally has one close to Tennessee, too.

Looks like a lot of you were wrong....final FCS 3 Clay County 0 in 7 innings. So the blow out predictions and being run ruled did not happen. Great season by Clay County...these ladies played with guts and determination in the last week.
