  1. Thanks for the update guys. Sounds like we are going to have a good season. I'm sure the defense and the lines will get plenty of work this summer. Go Wildcats!
  2. This will be a good game. We will have to play better on both sides of the ball. Gaddis will have them ready. Go Wildcats, Speed Kills.
  3. Don't ever, ever, ever underestimate your opponent. We still have a way to go before we can predict a big win against anyone. GO WILDCATS !!
  4. That's just crazy. Who in the world would be better at giving a motivational speech at a pep rally? What do you expect? We only had around 17 seniors, we also had a few bad calls toward the end. We will learn from this game and play better next week. The week after that we will be even better! How many more pep rally's Gaddis gives a speech at has nothing to do with it! Enough Said.
  5. Next Tuesday night at 7:00 at the "Ship". They are a better team than South Dole, that's for sure.
  6. Does anyone have a date or a year the stadium was named Jack Armstrong Stadium?
  7. Maybe I was watching a different scrimmage than some of you saw. But I thought our team speed was great, especially on offense. Our QB, and running backs were very fast. Our offensive and defensive line will need some more work though. But it was the first scrimmage of the year and we will get better. I do have a question though. Does anyone know when the stadium was named Jack Armstrong stadium?
  8. Really, I didn't know that. I also predict that Oak Ridge will have more fans there, lol. Advantage: Oak Ridge. The only problem you might have is that you had better get there the day before or you won't find a seat. I will probably sit on the home stands.........along with a few other thousand Oak Ridge fans.
  9. I think it will be a close game, very close. Farragut will have big advantage by playing DB in week 0. They will also have a size advantage on both sides of line. They will also be more experienced and they bring back one of the best QB's in the area. Oak Ridge will be faster, maybe a lot faster. They also have one of the best coaching staffs in the state. My prediction is that Oak Ridge will win by one, just like they did when Gaddis first came to Oak Ridge in 89. GO WILDCATS!!
  10. Except for the ugly helmets.........But at least they weren't wearing their all red uniforms, that seem to change to a lighter shade of red each season......lol. I hope the all red uniforms are gone forever.
  11. Could someone at Farragut tell me why they don't have a better visitor section than they do? If you don't get there by 6:00 your going to have a hard time finding a seat. See you soon........
  12. Yes we do, it's pretty bad we don't even have a home town sports editor.
  13. More good news, that's great to hear. Has anyone herd anything about the new coaches and if they are going to be hired? Also, does anyone know if the Oak Ridger has a full time sports editor yet? The last I herd they only had guest writers. I can't imagine going into this high school football season without a sports editor.
  14. Thanks for the info, maybe they might show it again today. I will be watching. I think Oak Ridge will be just fine this year.
  15. The last I herd 2 of the 3 were hired. Regardless, we have a very good staff with or without the 3. With Don Colquitt and Joe Gaddis coaching, all we really need is support staff.
  16. Thanks for the info Nole. Don Colquitt is a great addition, I'm glad we got him.
  17. The hardest hitting family? I would have to say the Normand's without a doubt. I played on the same team as Jim Normand when we won the state '79, and were rated number 3 in the nation. He has a son playing division 1 collage football now. And of course Elliott Normand who played last year.
  18. Who are the new ones? Which ones stayed?
  19. "bluebellies at Farragut" "Moo Cows at Anderson County", I love it !! Has Gaddis made any coaching changes? Any new coaches? Is Spencer and the rest of the ast. from last year the same?
  20. This may have been answered before so if it has please forgive me, lol. I missed the red & gray game so how did that go? Who seems to be the starting QB and RB? Are the ast. coaches the same as last year? Any new coaches? Thanks
  21. Just what is your problem bladerunner? I have taken up for coach Blade a lot, but he's gone and it's time to move on. You say you are a Oak Ridge fan but you sure don't talk like it. Coach Blade was a good coach, and I have defended him and took up for him on Coach T and on Facebook. But being a true Wildcat fan I very excited about the future of Wildcat football.......Yes Joe Gaddis DOES have this city VERY excited again and there really isn't anything you can do stop that excitement.........But if you are really a Wildcat fan why would you even try to put a damper on the excitement that's in our city now? Blade is gone, he isn't ever coming back and it's time for you to grow up and except that fact. He has a lot guys coming out for football this year who other wise wouldn't be. If your not a true Wildcat fan then go post on another high school thread. GO WILDCATS !!
  22. I really wouldn't call it upset. Oak Ridge should have powerhouse team in 2014 but this year will be a work in progress. But it should be another close game between us and Farragut this year. I can't wait till this season to start though, the whole city is really fired up. My prediction, Oak Ridge 31 Farragut 28. Go Wildcats !!
  23. Better than Gaddis? LOL Now that was funny right there, I don't care who you are......that was funny.
  24. I actually liked our away jerseys last year........But the helmets....I will be glad to see them changed back lol. I'm glad they are playing in 5-A now. Back many, many years ago when we won back to back state championships in 79-80 we had over 1,500 students in only three grades 10th, 11th and 12th. Now I think we have less than 1,300 in four grades. You just have to be realistic. And when it comes to tradition you have to understand Gaddis......he can't help but say Oak Ridge has the best.......He loves this town, our high school and our tradition.......It's not meant as disrespect toward anyone. If we ever had a new coach and he didn't say Oak Ridge had a great tradition he would be ran out of town before he had a chance to unpack his bags. Yes, Maryville, Alcoa and South Pitsburg has a great tradition too. (gee, I hope I didn't leave anyone out) lol. But there isn't to many teams that can say that they have played in a state championship in every single decade they have had a high school.....and out of those state championship games they only lost one by a few points in 2005. Best of luck to all of our area teams........I just can't wait till week 1 !
  25. Coach Rosser became a head coach in NY or NJ at the end of the 2011 season. I wish the best and I think he will do very well. Joe Gaddis did say on a call in show Wednesday night that he hopes to bring in a few coaches, but he didn't elaborate. It should be interesting........
