  1. 1. Bearden 2. Farragut 3. Oak Ridge 4. CAK 5. West 6. Maryville 7. Karns/Catholic 9. Powell 10. Your Guess is as good as mine I'd say Bearden/Farragut come out of Region 2 this year. OR lost some key players, West will be good but neither will be good enough. Greeneville should be pretty good in Regon 1 and possible DB, but I think Bearden/Farragut make it to state - go West Knox!!!
  2. Transam, What's your deal with trashing club teams. Didn't you learn in the other thread that OR has players from lots of club teams? Who cares what this Krossfire team did. You have made it clear that you think they are no good. Time to move on. We'll all know when Powell plays OR who is better.
  3. I checked your record. The reason you were not out of many games last year is that you only had two games against ranked teams last year - a 4-0 loss to Oak Ridge in the regular season and a 7-0 loss to Oak Ridge in the district. In most soccer circles 4-0 is a beat down. And you might not have had your sweeper, but, as someone else has said, they didn't even have Howell in the 7-0 game.
  4. That was not trans am's point. Sure an upset is possible, but he makes it seem like Powell is the favorite going in. On what basis...because some club team is not very good. I don't have a dog in the fight either. I'm interested in the other half of this region. But POWELL. They were horrible last year. What has changed? I hope they knock West and OR off for our sake when playoffs come around but I won't be holding my breath!
  5. TransAm, Thanks for the laugh. I was having a horrible morning at work and this one perked me right up. POWELL...First. Unless you have added a ton of new players and some miraculous coach, you are not going anywhere. You mention the juniors that have started since they were freshmen...and accomplished what? That's like Vanderbilt being excited that they returned all the starters off a team that won two games. I would say the whole district is down. OR will have a hard time scoring without Howell. West lost some players. Karns may be a little better. The class of the area is clearly Bearden as usual. Farragut will probably be the other group out of the region if they play up to expectations. Willing to put your trans am on the line with your predictions?????
  6. What makes you think the Bearden is being overlooked and not respected? The rankings on Eurosport? The comments? I think anyone who knows anything about soccer knows that Bearden will be in the hunt every year. It should be a great game. Collierville's patience and leadership against Bearden's speed and relentless attack. I have a feeling if Collierville sneaks one in, their defense will hold Bearden out. Lot's of experience and leadership on that back line. Good luck to both teams!
  7. So it sounds like Greeneville has plenty of talent waiting and Bearden always has. How about the other major AAA players in the area - Farragut, Oak Ridge and West ?
  8. Why do you have doubts - history I presume? I am new to Tennessee (2 years) and don't know enough about past seeding experiences. Please enlighten.
  9. By reload I mean they always have talent coming in - just a fact of numbers. Sounds like Greeneville may do the same. As for Bearden, they do rely on their fast forwards, but they can play possession or they can just overwhelm you with their numbers and athletes running on goal. Also they are incredibly good on set pieces. I think they should have kept using the short corner against Oak Ridge. It worked every time. As with all really good teams, the test is when they are down can they come back. Bearden had a lull after Oak Ridge scored but then came back strong.
  10. Bearden just reloads every year. But who does Greeneville lose? I know from talking to a parent they have a bunch of freshman. Of their starters, who is leaving?
  11. We could play this game forever. If you want to parse words, pounding someone in the first half and saying that if it had been a football game they would have been up 49-0 is not being FLAT. It means they played well until they got to the Oak Ridge flat four. They tried over and over to penetrate with Turner, but #16 shut her down. Flat implies you are off altogether not just off in the final 18 yards. If you saw the second half only, what you saw was Bearden frustrated that they couldn't break through and Oak Ridge step it up a notch. Give credit to #16, #9, the sub and whoever the other defender was for changing the flow of the game. Your first post that Bearden looked flat slights those four girls. See how your argument works against you. Furthermore, the first mention of any names was by you not REPETE. REPETE mentioned Velocity Premier not names. I doubt any Bearden players would feel slighted if they read his post.
  12. It now appears even more likely that you felt baited when REPETE mentioned Velocity Premier. So who is it you want mentioned that was left out. One of your players? Was it the KFC or Impact player you mentioned before. By the way, read what Eric said in the paper this morning. I believe the exact quote was "we pounded them in the first half." Doesn't sound like he thought they were flat. Check your coaching ego at the door next time.
  13. How is refering to Velocity Premier players baiting. Bearden is loaded with fast players. I can't imagine only mentioning the Velocity premier players as being a slight to those who coach Impact or KFC teams. Come on!! Should we mention every great player we see. It was clear that Turner was the go to player last night. She and #16 battled head to head in the first half alone at least 15 times (fun to watch two great players take each other on). Don't be so sensitive when your players aren't mentioned. If you are honest, most people thought Bearden would handle Oak Ridge pretty easily before the game. Maybe not a blowout, but even 4-0 would not have surprised many of us. I know I wouldn't have been surprised. And who cares about excuses. Maybe Bearden was flat maybe not. Maybe Oak Ridge was flat against Farragut back in September maybe not. Fans and coaches need excuses to feel better or make sense of things. I have seen Bearden three times this year. IMHO I thought Bearden was flat in the first 10-15 minutes of the Farragut district game. Last night I thought Bearden came out ready to go. The first 10 minutes they took it right to Oak Ridge. When the OR defender went down, I thought it was all over, but her sub played great and they held on and calmed down. From then on it was just a good game to watch. Oak Ridge aquitted themselves and Bearden showed that they aren't going to quit. How can anyone make excuses out of a game like that?
