  1. Change the HHS in the middle quarter with MHS to OSHS.
  2. I try to be very objective about the stuff I read on here but Harriman scored a lot more than 3 times. I believe Stone scored twice in varsity action but HHS scored the first 5 times they had the ball. They were driving two more times but lost fumbles. Both Stones touchdowns came on or right after long passes as Harriman seems to give a couple of those up every time I see them play. Otherwise, Stone was stuffed for most of the evening. It was not a good night for Stone as they were manhandled pretty well. I can't answer about the devils leaving in the varsity d. I know that when both coaches agreed to go JV that both teams had one series of 7 plays against the other.
  3. There aren't three guys in all of Roane County that run under 4.6...
  4. Hey Took!! Don't comment on things you know nothing about. I'd like to know your definition of discipline. Mine is 40 some kids who show up and work hard every day. Kids who lifted all spring and summer and do what the coaches ask them to do. Kids who want to make a school and town proud of them in everything they do on and off the field. This team doesn't make stupid mistakes or get dumb penalties. They simply grind it out game after game. Funny how every team around these parts that has more than a handful of black kids always gets the rap of "no discipline". They are automatically supposed to be more talented than everyone else and when they don't win every game, they have "no discipline".
  5. Harriman 8, Hancock County 7 I believe I heard that Rockwood won 8 - 0 over University.
  6. The 8 to 1 score is not at all correct. Neither team even had 8 possessions. Harriman scored on a long run on the 3rd play of the scrimmage. They moved the ball at times after that but did not score again. They were hurt by lost fumbles. I do not believe Sweetwater scored against the first Harriman defense on the first two or three possessions. Harriman substituted very liberally after that on defense and Sweetwater scored a couple times with their first offense. The JV portion of the scrimmage was pretty ugly. Sweetwater is pretty tough defensively but will have trouble moving the ball on offense.
  7. Since you all got to hear from the Coalfield fans, it's time to hear the other side of the story. Yes, a fan was taken off the field by police after the scuffle. He was not associated with the team or any player. I heard a Devil Coach ask who that guy was. It's hard to tell what started the fight but it came on the play right after Coalfield's big #74 went down. injured after being double-teamed by two offensive lineman. That tells me that maybe someone was retaliating. If playing to the whistle and getting after people is dirty then I guess the Devils are guilty. They had to listen all week to how they've never beaten Coalfield, including from the Coalfield coach in the newspaper. They get to read on this board all week how the physical Coalfield team will dominate our speedy team. Well, the Devils got tired of hearing it and responded with some tough physical play of their own. Physical and dirty are not the same thing. There was no taunting after the game. The coaches sent the players, under principal's orders, off the field immediately after the horn sounded. They never got a chance to enjoy the win on the field so they celebrated outside the field house. It so happens the field house is on a hill overlooking the stadium so everyone can see it. They did not direct any of the celebrating towards Coalfield. Funny how Harriman is the bad guy here and no one from Coalfield remembers how the devils needed a police escort just to get off the field at halftime there last year because the the Coalfield coach was going psycho. This was a huge win for the devils. There were two teams out there tonight that wanted it bad and I'm sure neither side was completely innocent. But, the Blue Devils shouldn't be trashed here just becuase they won a game and some people can't admit the better team won.
